기업들에게 있어 가격 경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 노력은 끊임없이 이어져 왔으며, 제조 부분에서의 원가절감이나 합리화 등은 어느정도 성과를 이끌어 내는데 성공하였다. 하지만 최근들어 그런 생산비 절감의 경우 점점 한계점에 도달한 모습을 내비치고 있는 실정이며, 이에 기업들은 자연스럽게 매년 그 증가 폭이 커지고 있는 물류로 눈길을 돌리고 있다. 따라서 물류에 대한 관리는 최근 각 기업들에게 있어서 최대 관심사임에 틀림없으며, 이를 위해 기업들은 앞 다투어 물류 정보시스템을 도입하고 이를 활용하려 하고 있다. 하지만 아직까지는 물류 정보의 표준화와 연동 문제 등으로 인해 어려움이 뒤따르고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이런 물류정보시스템 운영에 대한 적용 사례를 물류비 시스템을 예로 들어 분석을 해보았으며, 물류정보시스템이 안고 있는 난제를 극복하기 위한 하나의 방안으로 RFID 도입을 통해 물류비 절감과 업무 프로세스 개선을 제시하고자 한다.

물류관리를 위하여 RFID (radio frequency identification) 기술의 적용이 활발해지고 있다. 이러한 추세와 컨테이너 화물의 보안에 대한 관심이 증대되면서 RFID 방식의 e-Seal (electronic seal)에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 수출입물류 분야를 중심으로 e-Seal 적용 현황을 파악하고 e-Seal 적용을 위하여 해결하여야 할 문제점과 적용시 고려요소를 분석하였다. 또한, e-Seal 적용을 위하여 수출입물류에 관한 현 비즈니스 프로세스를 분석하여 개선 방안에 대하여 제시하였다. 현실적인 e-Seal 적용방안과 e-Seal 적용시 기존의 물류 프로세스의 개선 방안을 도출하기 위하여 실제 해운사 및 관세청 등 관련 기관의 물류관리 프로세스를 분석하였다.

전만술 원장은 우리나라의 물류산업발전을 위해 지난 1998년 1월부터 지금까지 한국물류연구원장으로 재직하면서 물류정책의 연구, 컨설팅 연구를 통하여 많은 노력을 해 왔다. 특히, 지난 5년간 개최되어온 물류정책토론회의 좌장으로서 물류정책 및 산업에 관련된 물류문제점들을 찾아서 이를 해결하는데 큰 역할을 해 왔다. 물류연구계를 대표하는 한국물류연구원의 수장인 전만술 원장은 명지대학교 산업대학원 교수로서 물류컨설턴트를 양성하는데 많은 기여를 하고 있다.

National industrial complexes, airports, and seaports are major logistics nodes and the availability of their logistics services is a key factor for the successful operation of entire supply chains. For this reason, the central government has established a plan for their development and is investing in development projects. However, some difficulties exist in project prioritization and investment plan creation owing to the absence of a clear appraising method. For a smooth flow of national logistics and efficient investment on facilities, it is necessary to diagnose the logistics facilities' present conditions and practice sustainable management. In this study, a diagnostic method for logistics services, which consists of service factors and facility factors, is proposed. Adopting the method, facility factors can be prioritized to improve facilities' services; further, a standard procedure is proposed to support decision making for effective investments in logistics facilities. The method is applied to actual logistics facilities (three national industrial complexes, three seaports, and two airports) and the results indicate that it can be effectively applied to actual logistics facilities.

본 연구는 물류 개선이 시급하고, 전자상거래 등으로 인한 물류 거점의 확보가 중요시되고 있는 현실의 문제점을 개선하기 위해 Simulated Annealing 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이미 위치가 설정된 노드의 요구에 최소비용으로 원활히 대응하기 위한 다 물류센터의 최적 위치와 할당영역, 규모를 결정하고, 각 물류센터가 담당한 영역의 노드를 반드시 한번씩 경유하여 처음 위치로 돌아오는 최소비용의 경로를 탐색한다. 이러한 과정을 위해 두 개의 모델인 1) 다 물류센터의 위치결정을 통한 규모결정과 영역할당모델, 2) 경로계획 모델을 개발한다. 거리산정방법과 물동량에 따른 가중치를 적용한 다양한 물류센터의 위치결정과 규모결정, 각 물류센터별 영역을 할당하여 단 물류센터의 문제로 만든 후 경로계획을 실시하여 최소비용의 경로(Tour)를 구하는 알고리즘을 개발하고 Sample을 적용한다.

본 연구는 우리나라 제주도의 운송수단별 물동량을 중심으로 제주물류 현황을 분석하였으며 이로부터 제주 물류의 문제점을 식별하여 제주물류의 효율성을 개선하기 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.
