The purpose of this study is to examine the ethnic phenomenon in the multi-layered context, based upon data collected from my fieldwork in Asella Town, Ethiopia. The town has experienced few ethnic conflicts at the collective level because of ecological conditions, the numerical balance between the two major ethnic groups-i.e., the Oromo and the Amhara-, frequent ethnic intermarriages as well as effects of a unique sociocultural practice of 'breast-feeding.' However, despite positive influences of such a practice, the local community has continuously witnessed discrimination and threats by the dominant ethnic group. Most of my informants feel that ethnic intermarriage contributes to: (i) enforcement of bonds among both ethic groups and community members, (ii) acquisition of different ethnic cultures, (iii) cultivation of the spirit of tolerance among people, and (iv) production of the superior second generation that has hybrid/multiple ethnic identities. However, some informants harbor negative attitudes towards ethnic intermarriage because they perceive it as a selfish choice of two parties and damages ethnic identity. Most informants consider ongoing Oromonization as natural, whereas others insist that it should be understood in the context of coercion, superficiality and survival strategy.

This study discusses various conflict situations and unexpressed pathological potential in historical regions. In this regard, the issue of alienation of local people due to local identity was raised and the cause was investigated. It explains the structural origins of local alienation that occurred in the process of objectifying a region and forming its identity. The process of alienation of local residents of local identity identified in this paper was divided and explained in three stages: objectification of the region, symbolization of local identity, and religious materialism of local identity. In addition, in the process, the incorporation of the production mode of intellectual work, the separation of producers, and the loss of the subject-centered control ability over these products were pointed out as problematic situations. The study suggests to change the perception of the region and to restore the control of the local people through narrative in relation to this problematic situation. Thus, this thesis asserts that we need to have doubts about the justification for the public good and the basis of the resulting consensus, and that we should be constantly interested in the pathological signs of society around us.

본 연구는 현재 활발하게 진행 중인 '벽화마을'의 문제점과 발전방향을 몇 개의 도시 사례를 중심으로 고찰한 것이다. 대표적인 벽화마을의 문제점은 그 지역의 정체성과 무관한 이미지들이 많이 그려지고 있고, 이에 비례하여 비슷한 벽화마을이 조성되고 있다는 사실이다. 벽화마을은 그 지역의 정체성을 기반으로 다양하게 이루어져야 한다. 또한 관광객들이 스마트폰을 이용하여 다양한 벽화마을을 검색할 수 있는 통합된 벽화마을 애플리케이션이 만들어져야 한다. 본 논문은 벽화마을의 디지털 콘텐츠의 필요성을 제기한 시안의 성격임을 밝혀둔다.

한 시대의 문학베스트셀러는 대중의 상상력과 감수성이 어느 지점에서 작동하는지를 민감하게 반영하는 지표다. 80년대 문학이 '이념'과 '역사'라는 거대서사를 정점으로 움직였다면, 90년대 문학은 '일상'과 '소비문화'의 미시서사로 하강했다. 성과 사랑이라는 고전적 주제 외에 여성의 정체성, 민족주의적 감수성, 흔들리는 부권과 가정에 대한 복고주의 등을 주제로 한 작품들이 베스트셀러 목록을 점령했다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the multicultural mathematics education factor shown in mathematics textbook. For this purpose, 2015 revised curriculum, mathematics textbook and teacher's guide book of first and second grade were analyzed using framework for multicultural mathematics education factor. The results of this study revealed that the general guideline of the national curriculum included 'culture identity', 'diversity of knowledge' and 'social problem solving' but the curriculum of mathematics excluded 'culture identity'. Nevertheless, mathematics textbook showed various multicultural mathematics education factor except 'social problem solving'. But there are several kinds of problem. Fist, application level of multicultural mathematics education factor was mostly low. Second, history of mathematics and culture aspects were Europocentric. Thirds, characters in mathematics text book were excessively standard. there weren't other ethnicity, the disabled, multicultural students. On the basis of these results, this paper includes several implications for the future multicultural mathematics education in elementary school.
