Cultural Diversity and Communication Barrier (문화적 다양성이 커뮤니케이션에 미치는 영향)

  • We're living in a world of one global village. The globalization of business is acceleration as more companies cross national borders to find customers, materials and money. Many foreign companies and organizations are doing their business aggressively in Korea and many Korean companies and rushing into foreign market. When people communicate for business with someone from another culture, there could be difficult communication barriers to overcome resulting from differences in their values, beliefs, norms for behavior, expectations, attitudes and so on. To do successfully business, we need to understand culture background and communication style that is different from nation, race, language. Communication barriers stemming from cultural differences may vary. Largely, they can be divided into value system, non-verbal communication, and perception process. Value system can be divided into individualism versus group orientation, avoidance of uncertainty degree, power distance, and high- context culture versus low-context culture. Also non-verbal communication method and perception process may play decisive roles in communication effectiveness. Especially nonverbal communication barriers which sometimes play more important roles than the verbal parts are composed of eye contact, gesture, kinesics, proxemics, chronemics, paralanguage and language of color Cross-cultural communication affect business situation. I expect that if we understand cultural background, and then we overcome cross-cultural communication barriers. To overcome and to adapt inter-cultural business, we need to develope curriculum on the cross-cultural education which I will study in the next paper.

  • 오늘날 기업 경영 환경은 더욱 복잡해지고, 국가간.지역간 통합 경제 체제 형태로 변화하고 있다. 정보 기술과 텔리커뮤니케이션의 결합에 따른 급속한 발전은 국가간.지역간 경계를 넘어 다국적 기업, 더 나아가서는 범세계적 기 업으로 글로벌(global) 기업을 출현시켰다. 경영 환경의 빠른 변화의 추세 속 에서 경쟁 우위를 지키기 위해서는 이러한 변화를 적절히 수용하고 적응할 수 있는 조직이 필요하였다. 기존의 MIS 관점으로는 환경 변화에 적응 할 수 있는 혁신적인 조직으로 변화시키는 데는 한계가 있었고, 이에 따라 BPR 이 대두되었다. BPR실행에 있어 성공뿐만 아니라 많은 실패도 겪었다. BPR 실행에는 많은 자금과 인력, 시간이 투자되기 때문에 실패의 손실은 기업에 게 큰 타격을 가져다 줄 수 있다. 대부분의 BPR의 실패 원인은 사회적 측면 을 고려하지 못한 데 있다. 정보 기술을 이용하여 프로세스를 급진적으로 재 설계 하였지만, 운영 주체인 구성원의 저항감이나 조직의 문화에 대한 고려 를 하지 못하였다. 그러므로 BPR을 수행함에 있어 사회적 측면과 기술적 측 면을 동시에 고려하여 적용한다면 오류나 실패 요인을 감소시킬 수 있다. 따 라서 요즈음 새로이 부상하고 있는 사회.기술적 시스템 접근법은 성공적인 BPR 실행을 위한 대안이 될 수 있다.

  • Social media is utilized in both personal and public domains in various ways, with a value on being the recorded evidence of modern day's culture and history. Recently, social media is being utilized very actively-domestically and abroad-as an organization's information service domain and as a public communication pipeline. Also, there are case studies released regarding the capturing and archiving of social media records. This research highlights the value that social media has, with an, objective of presenting the implementation of an archival method that captures the social media records in the blind spot of the Central Administrative Organization's Record Management.

  • This practical study investigates the effects of job satisfaction as a result of the stresses felt by many dispatchers who work in the subway industry in the Seoul metropolitan area. Factors that cause stress are assessed. The organization system, inappropriate compensation, workplace culture, and job requirements, among several types of organizational stresses are significantly related to job satisfaction. The results of the analysis indicate that there is a close link between job satisfaction and dispatcher communication factors. This paper suggests stress-relief measures for dispatchers who must handle a variety of civil complaints and improper communications with field departments based on the analysis of the answers to descriptive questionnaire items.

  • This Paper studied out prototype and the structure of comic expression on Social Network Game and started with issues based on SNS(Social Network Service) in Culture Communication. Interaction with the platform have the information that aims to develop relationships with SNG. In a world where the paradigm is changing the game People of all ages, transcending national borders in the mediator role of interaction could have been important. Today SNG is a major topic in Game Contents and this issue has influenced the game design and Story Telling.   • This study interpreted film-creators' information behavior by reconstructing information behavior in the process of film-planning using human information behavior. Film creators exchange, collect, and analyze information through channels in the information environment so called "the small world." After these processes, they strategically express this information by creating a film. This study concludes that the purpose of film-creating activity and that of everyday life information seeking are intertwined and that co-communication is the most important information channel and information source.

  • 기업이나 단체는 고객과의 관계형성 강화와 충성도를 높이기 위해 온라인 커뮤니티를 조직 차원에서 활성화하고 있고, 개인들은 사회 연결망(social network) 강화를 위해 개인의 관심사${\cdot}$가치${\cdot}$흥미${\cdot}$문화 등에 따라 특정 온라인 커뮤니티 사이트를 통해서 다양한 정보 획득과 구성들 간의 관계를 형성해 가고 있다. 이러한 추세에 힘입어 온라인 커뮤니티 사용자들은 상호작용성을 높이기 위해 아바타를 커뮤니케이션의 전달매체로 활용하는 경향이 있다. 본 연구는 아바타가 웹사이트 간 신뢰전이에 어떻게 영향을 미치고, 아바타 유무와 아바타 유형에 따라 신뢰전이가 어떤 차이가 나는지를 실증분석을 통해 검증하였다. 첫째, SERI와 SERI 포럼 사이트간에 신뢰전이가 부분적으로 발생하고 있으며, SERI 포럼 내에서는 변수들간의 모든 가설이 모두 유의하게 검증되었다. 둘째, 아바타 유형에 따라 SERI와 SERI 포럼 사이트간에 신뢰전이가 발생하는데 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 모(母) 사이트의 신뢰는 자(子) 사이트의 품질요인과 포럼활동 만족도에 직${\cdot}$간접적으로 일부분 영향을 미쳤다. 다만, 중개자 신뢰는 시스템신뢰에는 유의한 영향을 주지 못하며, 피드백 메커니즘은 정보 품질과 시스템품질에 유희한 영향을 주지 못한다.

  • This article examines technological innovation's impact on the game production field and on the developers' subjectivity and labor. It focuses on the appearance of the new stage of digitalization via mobile devices during the period when the leading sector of game industry rapidly shifted to Mobile games. Though the in-depth interview with the game developers, this article explores the changes in organizational and management approaches and in the developers' experience and perception of their labor. Given the serious shortage of the related literature, I believe this analysis could provide a new perspective in understanding the gameswork of specific time and location.

  • This study identified what children's TV program model should KBS offer to the realization of the value of children audience. Results demonstrated that educational and norm, content diversity & children's interest, cultural diversity, and program accessibility were derived as the characteristics of children's programs pursued by parents bringing up children. This study further expects the efforts of KBS to provide children's programs that people want may serve as a key mechanism for enhancing awareness of the need for public broadcasting and contributing to the realization of normalizing TV license fees.

  • "Tourist Gaze" discussion in the 21st century introduces that tourist is the post-modern and post-fordism figure. Festival visitors can be said as one of the post-modern tourists, so this figure has "performance turn" feature as well. It will be discussed here why festival visitors of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival want to visit the festival. As post-modern and post-fordism figure, festival visitors want to experience autonomy, competence and relationshjp based on the performance turn.
