The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents of "Reading Education" course in LIS in terms of objects, teaching methods and problems. 19 similar courses to "Reading Education" provided by LIS in the US and 32 similar courses to "Reading Education" provided by LIS in Korea were investigated and analyzed. Most courses provided by the US graduate schools emphasized specific teaching techniques. However. most courses provided by Korean departments stressed general objects and goals. The suggested syllabus of 'Reading Education' course, composed of 13 weeks, was constructed focusing on 3 parts, various reading materials, teaching methods and bibliotherapy.

The purpose of this study is to introduce the Theory of Information Worlds which analyzes information behaviors in the social perspective. This study analyzed dissertations using the theory to provide the understanding of the theory and suggest theoretical implications. The theory was developed by Burnett and Jeager in 2008, and since then it was applied in 14 dissertations. Key concepts of the theory include social norms, social types, information value, information behavior, and boundaries. These concepts are intervened in the process of creation and control of behavior through interaction each other. Qualitative research was adopted in more research rather than quantitative research; especially interview and content analysis were applied. It is expected that the spectrum of information behavior research in Korea is broaden and deeper through this study.

KORMARC used in library bibliographic information, had been pointed several weaknesses such as inflexibility lack of link information and compatibility. In addition, a sudden increase in digital information associated with development of internet is demanding an integration of web resources metadata as the resource of library information. This study mentioned XML/KORAMARC system or adaption of XML standard format turned out to be the most efficient way to use KORMARC formats and to expand the range of those information service such as bibliographic information, factual information, referral information and full-text.

The purpose of this study is to examine the status of data librarian-related course syllabi in the 2023 American Library Association(ALA)-accredited degree programs in Library and Information Science (LIS). The present study examined LIS course syllabi related to data librarian including course titles, course objectives, course descriptions, weekly topics and assignments. ALA-accredited LIS programs offer various courses in data librarianship such as data management and curation, data analysis and visualization, metadata, information services, research methods, library management, academic libraries, computer programming and databases. This study collected 184 syllabi from the ALA-accredited LIS programs and selected and analyzed 127 syllabi that are related to data librarianship. The study examined 3,045 course titles, 2,559 course description from 61 LIS degree programs overseas, and 1,330 course titles from 37 LIS degree programs in Korea. This study found that LIS degree programs both in Korea and overseas offer various courses for data librarians. The researcher hopes the findings of this study will be used as a starting point to develop or redesign courses related to data librarianship in the information field.

The importance of Knowledge Management (KM) can be easily recognized in many diverse aspects of the theory studies and in KM's efforts to help implement the government's policy to innovate corporation management. The core of KM is to improve the circulation of knowledge by generation, accumulation, sharing, utilization and acquisition by learning. The improvement of knowledge circulation would result in high quality and quantity of intellectual assets in corporations and make decision-making more efficient. This, too, is the operational philosophy of the special libraries. The primary objective of this study is to promote KM by presenting KM methodology and by explaining a theoretical background and cases, based on the existing special libraries. I cite an example of a case wherein merging intellectual assets and human resources activated the company culture. The reference service system, which is the core of the special library, was used in this merging.

This study aims to propose strategies for cultivating professionals in the field of art archives, drawing insights from the perceptions and opinions of practitioners and researchers involved in the establishment of professional human resources for the systematic management and utilization of art archives. To achieve this objective, in-depth interviews with practitioners and records management researchers related to art archives and policies were conducted. The grounded theory methodology, a qualitative research approach, was used in the analysis of interviews. The outcome yielded 57 concepts, 27 subtopics, and 13 super-topics. Through this, the study provides a comprehensive review of persistently emerging challenges related to art archive professionals, and by analyzing the opinions of experts in each field, this research presents effective ways to revitalize professional human resources. Ultimately, this study offers valuable implications that underscore the significance of professionals, who are prerequisites in art archives, within society and provide a platform for art archivists in museums to establish themselves as art archive professionals.

본 글에서는 최근 기술가치평가에 적용되고 있는 조건부가치평가법(Contingent Valuation Method) 다속성효용평가법(Multi-attribute Utility Assessment) 그리고 조건부청구권가치평가법(Real Option Pricing Method)의 세가지 가치측정기법들의 특징과 조요 관련 문헌들을 간략하게 정리하여 소개함으로서 관심있는 연구자들에게 유용한 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 소개하는 방법론들은 환경재화의 가치측정기법과 위험도가 높은 에너지프로젝트의 가치평가기법으로 개발된 기법들로서 신기술이 가지는 특징인 외부성 등의 비시장재적 특성과 높은 위험도에따른 투자가치를 반영할 수있어 기술 및 기업의 가치평가 사례연구에 응용할 수있다.

This study aims to investigate awareness of the privacy concerns in knowledge management in scholarly Publications. As theoretical background, understandings of privacy and practices of knowledge management for privacy are discussed. Content analysis of scholarly Publications which are limited to the period from 2000 to 2004 is used for examining the awareness. Result of this study shows that there is not much scholarly discussion on the privacy concerns in knowledge management during the Period. Reasons for the result are identified based on the theoretical understandings. This study is expected not only to investigate the research topic but also to bring attention to the necessity of discussions of the topic.

Precedents are data containing various types of information. In this study, I proposed a method to be utilized as legal information system for the public using automatic text analysis performed on precedents. It is carried out to analyze the defamation precedent using reference provision, judgment issues, major points of judgment, and reference precedents. As a result of the analysis, legal provisions used in defamation, key issues covered by defamation, and key cases are extracted. Although only applied to the Supreme Court case regarding defamation, the proposed methodology could be applied to various legal topics.

Due to the recent development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the amount of research publications has increased exponentially. In response to this rapid growth, the demand of automated text processing methods has risen to deal with massive amount of text data. Biomedical text mining discovering hidden biological meanings and treatments from biomedical literatures becomes a pivotal methodology and it helps medical disciplines reduce the time and cost. Many researchers have conducted literature-based discovery studies to generate new hypotheses. However, existing approaches either require intensive manual process of during the procedures or a semi-automatic procedure to find and select biomedical entities. In addition, they had limitations of showing one dimension that is, the cause-and-effect relationship between two concepts. Thus;this study proposed a novel approach to discover various relationships among source and target concepts and their intermediate concepts by expanding intermediate concepts to multi-levels. This study provided distinct perspectives for literature-based discovery by not only discovering the meaningful relationship among concepts in biomedical literature through graph-based path interference but also being able to generate feasible new hypotheses.
