Characteristics of Resolving Syntatic Ambiguity in Normals and Aphasic (한국어 구문 중의성 해결과정 : 정상인과 명칭성 실어증 환자의 구문정보처리 특성)

  • 문장을 이해하기 위해서는 각 단어를 이해한 후에 이 단어들이 문장 내에서 어떠한 기능을 담당하고 있는지 그 구조를 파악해야 한다. 한국어 정보 처리에 있어서 명칭성 실어증 환자는 어떠한 방식으로 이러한 문장 구조를 파악하는지 정상인과의 비교를 통해 그 특성을 살펴보고자 하는 데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 실험 재료로는 구문 중의성 문장을 사용하였는데, 구문 중의성이란 가령 '정치가'와 같은 어절이 '정치+가(주격조사)'나, '정치+가(접미사)' 모두를 뜻할 수 있음을 말한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 중의성을 이해하는 과정을 알아보기 위해 중의성 해결 지역에서의 읽기 시간(reading time)을 측정하였으며, 실험 과제는 자기 조절 읽기 과제(self-paced reading task)를 사용하였다. 그 결과 정상인 피험자와 마찬가지로 '정치가'와 같은 중의적 어절이 주어로 쓰였을 때에는 중의적 문장 / 비중의적 문장간의 차이가 없었으나 '명사+접사'로 해석해야 할 경우에는 둘 간의 차이가 크게 나타나 피험자였던 명칭성 실어증 환자의 경우 이러한 중의성을 해결하면서 읽는 데에는 손상이 없는 것으로 보였다. 단 전체적인 문장을 읽는데에는 시간이 오래 걸려 역시 문장을 읽고 이해하는 데에는 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 명칭성 실어증 환자는 문장 산출의 어려움이 구문적 정보처리에서의 문제라기보다는 어휘 정보를 적절하게 인출하지 못하기 때문에 나타나는 것으로 추론된다.

Flow Experiences in Goal-Directed and Experiential Activities (목표지향적 행위와 경험지향적 행위 시의 플로우(Flow) 경험에 대한 연구)

  • The focus of this study was to investigate whether flow occurs during both goal-directed and experiential activities, if experiential and foal-directed flow states differ in terms of various measures and dimensions. Fifty male and eighteen female subjects were participated in controlled, comparative experiment between goal-directed and experiential activities in problem-solving tasks. The findings indicate that subjects experience more curiosity and involvement(focus) in problem solving tasks with experiential activities. However, the results showed subjects experience more enjoyment in tasks with goal-directed activities. Findings of this study suggested that more sophisticated and quantitative measures in various dimensions should be constructed and verified in order to apply flow theory to human-computer interaction.

The Impact of Enacted Curriculum on Student Learning in Mathematics Classrooms (수학수업에서 교사의 교과서 및 교사용지도서 변형 및 활용이 학생의 수학학습에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore how elementary mathematics teachers' adaptations of a reform-oriented mathematics curriculum material in the USA, Everyday Mathematics, influence elementary students' opportunities to learn mathematics. I illustrate how elementary mathematics teachers alter the curriculum material and how such alterations influence their students' opportunities to learn mathematics in their mathematics classrooms. Results suggest that the teachers with Everyday Mathematics did not appear to maintain the cognitive demand of mathematical tasks as appeared in the curriculum material, as set up by the teacher, and as enacted in the classrooms. The results also show that the teachers seemed to omit components including important tasks and suggestions in the curriculum material. As a consequence, the students did not have an opportunity to think and understand mathematics conceptually and meaningfully; they were exposed and encouraged to learn mathematics procedurally.

A Study on "Comparing Two Data Sets" as Effective Tasks for the Education of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers (예비초등교사교육을 위한 효과적인 과제로서 "두 자료집합 비교하기" 과제의 가능성 탐색)

  • It is an important to develop teachers' statistical reasoning or thinking by teacher education. In this study, the "comparing two data sets" tasks is focused as a way to develop pre-service elementary teachers' reasoning about core ideas of statistics such as distribution, variability, center, and spread. 6 teams of each 4 pre-service elementary teachers participated on the tasks and their presentations are analyzed based on Pfannkuch's (2006) teachers' inference model in comparing two data sets. As a result, they paid attention to the distribution and variability in the statistical problem solving by the "comparing two data sets" tasks, and used their contextual knowledge to make a statistical decision. In addition, they used some statistics and graphs as the reference for statistical communication, which is expected to provide implications for improving statistical education. The finding implies that the "comparing two data sets" tasks can be used to develop statistical reasoning of pre-service elementary teachers. Some recommendations are suggested for teacher education by these tasks.

  • DMAIC is the most familiar problem-solving methodology to battery manufacturing-related engineers, but continuous problems such as task delay, insufficient performance, and partial optimization are occurring due to indiscriminate application to various tasks of battery production system developers. In order to secure an "optimized model for DMAIC methodology" that can effectively respond to battery production system developers' tasks, a three-stage research model was used to derive the required characteristics of the production system developer task methodology, analyze the suitability of DMAIC, and conduct optimization modeling by supplementing the shortcomings. It was confirmed that the DMAIC methodology can be more suitable by applying the "system structural seven-step methodology", which is the result of this study, to developer tasks. It is expected that it will be applied to various industrial fields in the future by making it easier to learn and allowing differentiated operations according to the characteristics of various industries.

  • 최근 전력설비 운용상의 여러 가지 과제에 대한 유망한 해결책으로서 파워일렉트로닉스 기기를 사용한 FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System)가 주목을 받고 있다. 그 중에서도 자려식 변환기를 사용한 FACTS기기는 계통의 유효전력$\cdot$무효전력을 계통의 상태에 의존하지 않고 자유롭게 제어할 수 있어, 계통운용의 유연성을 비약적으로 확대할 수 있는 가능성이 있다. 미쓰비시전기는 전력기기간 계통에서의 자려식 변환기 응용의 파이어니어로서 1991년 간사이전력(주) 태산개폐소에 80Mvar SVG(전지형 무효전력발생장치)를 납품하였으며 또한 자원에너지청의 ''연계강화기술개발'' 보조사업으로 도쿄전력(주)을 비롯하여 전력회사 각사, 전원개발(주)와 (재)전력중앙연구소의 지도 하에 3단자 BTB(Back to Back) 실증시스템용으로 세계 최초의 6인치 GTO(Gate Turn-off Thyristor)를 사용한 53MVA의 자려식 변환기를 제작납품하여 수백MVA 클래스의 자려식변환기 제작기술을 확립하였다. 또한 최근에는 동사가 개발한 신소자 GCT(Gate Commutated Turn-off Thyristor)는 지금까지 대용량 자려식 변환기의 커다란 과제였던 운전손실을 반감할 수 있을 것으로 기대되고 있다. 한편 배전 분야에서는 전압변동, 고조파, 순간전압강하 등의 과제가 증가하고 있어, 미쓰비시전기는 이에 응할 수 있는 파워일렉트로닉스 기기로서 콤팩트 SVG(Static Var Generator), SSTS(Solid-state Transfer Switch), 액티브필너를 다수 납품하여 전력품질문제 해결에 공헌하고 있다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest a discourse analysis activity that can be used in the stage after performing tasks in task-based Korean speaking class and show its pedagogical advantages. A discourse analysis activity is an metadiscourse activity in which learners speak what they have spoken. By analyzing discourse and performing tasks again, learners can enhance their fluency and accuracy, make their knowledges in target language more stable and extend them, and develop problem solving skills. Consequently, this facilitates learners' acquisition of Korean language. This paper reviewed theoretical background of proposing discourse analysis activity, suggested the pedagogical advantages of the analysis, and examined discourse analysis activity in Korean speaking class. And it included the discourse sample of learners in actual class.

  • Mathematical communication is necessary to exchange mathematical idea among participants in teaching-learning process. The promotion of mathematical communication competence is clearly stated in many parts of the 2007 revised curriculum. As a result, mathematical communication tasks are contained in 'high school Mathematics' textbook. At this point of time when increasing importance of mathematical communication is realized, we will check over mathematical communication and analyze communicative tasks corner in 'high school Mathematics' textbook in this paper And thereby we hope this study help prepare for practical communicative tasks corner suggesting a way for invigoration of mathematical communication.

  • Recently, solving industrial and social problems and creating new values based on big data and AI is being discussed as the main policy goal. The new government also set the digital platform government as a national task in order to achieve new value creation based on big data and AI. However, studies that summarize and diagnose discussions over the past five years are insufficient. Therefore, this study diagnoses the discussions over the past 5 years using the 4th industrial revolution as a keyword. After collecting news editorials from 2017 to 2022 by applying the text mining technique, 9 major topics were discovered. In conclusion, this study provided implications for the government's task to prepare for the future society.

A case study on the quadratic function problem solving process of middle school students with different unit coordination stages (단위 조정 단계가 다른 중학생의 이차함수 문제 해결 과정에서 나타나는 특징)

  • The purpose of the current study is to report a part of our larger project whose focus is to understand a relationship between students' units coordination and K-12 school mathematics. In particular, in this paper we report how students who exhibit distinct levels of units coordinations used their knowledge of proportion to solve quadratic function problems of the form y = ax2. To this end, three 7th grade students all of whom assimiliated whole number problem situations with three levels of units but showed different levels for fraction problems were chosen. We carried out clinical interviews not only to understand their ability to coordinate units but to understand their problem solving process of proportion and the quadratic function problems. The analysis suggest that their abilities to coordinate units influenced their ways to solving proportion problems, and in turn influenced their ways to solve the specific form of quadratic functions. We have finalized our study by discussing how students' ability to construct and coordinate units, their proportion knowledge, and their knowledge associated with expressing the specific type of quadractic functions could be related.
