실험 1, 2, 3 모두에서 사건관련 fMRI(event-related fMRI) 기법을 사용하였다.

  • The cores and deltas of fingerprints designate the parts where the flow of the ridges change radically. Observations on the change of the orientation of the ridges around the cores and deltas enable us to guess the location of the cores and deltas. According]y clustering the orientation flowing to the same direction after doing research on the orientation of the ridges on the whole makes us see that the cores and deltas are shaping around the boundaries of the clustering area. It is also observed that The patterns of clustering of the orientation of the ridges classified as Arch, Tented Arch, Left loop, Right Loop and Whorl have its own characteristics respectively. In this paper the method of classifying the fingerprints effectively is proposed and proved its effectiveness by using the clustering of the orientation of the ridges, finding the cores of the fingerprints which don't secure the deltas.

  • We generally use lower-dimensional transformations to convert high-dimensional sequences into low-dimensional points in similar sequence matching. These traditional transformations, however, show different characteristics in indexing performance by the type of time-series data. It means that the selection of lower-dimensional transformations makes a significant influence on the indexing performance in similar sequence matching. To solve this problem, in this paper we propose a hybrid approach that integrates multiple transformations and uses them in a single multidimensional index. We first propose a new notion of hybrid lower-dimensional transformation that exploits different lower-dimensional transformations for a sequence. We next define the hybrid distance to compute the distance between the transformed sequences. We then formally prove that the hybrid approach performs the similar sequence matching correctly. We also present the index building and the similar sequence matching algorithms that use the hybrid approach. Experimental results for various time-series data sets show that our hybrid approach outperforms the single transformation-based approach. These results indicate that the hybrid approach can be widely used for various time-series data with different characteristics.

  • The predeccessor of Danjanjinja was Myorak temple which is built in the 7th century. At that age, the Buddhist culture of Japan had highly prospected by transmitting Buddhism to Japan from Han peninsular On the other hand, the private god of Fujiwara family in Danjanjinja is Uchigami which is one of typical Japanese popular belief like Dangshin of Korean's. Through these historical background, it could by presumed that the Kakitsisai might be the original form of Korean Buddhist sacrificial offerings from ancient age. So this study on Kakitsisai what had handed down from generation to generation about for 1300 years help us to study and estimate the ancient dietary culture of Korean and Japanese. 1. Kakitsisai performed high filling method in the sacrificial offerings like Kasuga, Horyuji and Korea. 2. The patterns and colors of high filling offerings are various in Korea and Japan. 3. They used unpolished rice by ancient rice, and called red and black one. We can guess both of countries ate unpolished rice at that age. 4. They used many kind of ancient wild fruits and vegetables. We could recognize what the ancients had eaten the foods.

  • This is a study on the flower pattern artwork of the west wall of the Jagyeongjeon in Gyeongbokgung to find out the type of plants and flowers represented and their symbolism. The research was conducted from July 2010 to March 2011 and the artwork classified on the basis of its horticultural traits. A number was assigned to each pattern for analysis: No. 1 is Prunus mume, No. 2 is Prunus persica, No. 3 is Paeonia suffruticosa, No. 4 is Punica granatum, No. 5 and 6 is Dendranthema grandiflora, No. 7 is Rhododendron mucronu and No. 8 is Phyllostachys bambusoides. These 8 flower patterns symbolize longevity and fecundity and their presense around the Jagyeongjeon helped to bestow good fortune on the royal family so that they might live long lives and bear many children. 4 artworks symbolize longevity, 2 artworks symbolize integrity and 1 artwork symbolizes wealth and happiness. There is also symbolism of the need to have constancy in a royal household even during secular change. Out of the 8 artworks, the imagery of a bird and a moon is represented only once, but the image of a butterfly is represented five times in the surrounding elements. The bird and butterfly symbolise freedom and happiness from free love. Women in the palace are like a butterfly wanted to be like love as a freedom and have a free and open relationship like a butterfly. But a harmonious relationship between the royal family wanted to have a symbolic meaning that could be seen of the symbolistic. Based on the "Yangwhasorok"only plants with the highest values, from the 1st and 2nd grades, were used in the artwork of the west wall of the Jagyeongjeon.

  • Cheommojik is a pile cloth, a type of textile whose surface is covered with short piles. The term chaedam was used during the late Joseon dynasty to refer to pile cloth rugs, while the terms yoongjeon, dantong and yangtanja were used in the early twentieth century. Various documents, newspaper articles and photographs confirm that pile cloth rugs were used by the general public as well as the royal family from the late Joseon dynasty onward, and that there were domestic manufacturers of such rugs at that time. This study investigated six pile cloth rugs that were produced after the late Joseon dynasty, five of which feature Persian knots made of cut pile, the other being made with the loop pile method. The cut pile rugs are rectangular in shape and measure between 72-98cm by 150-156cm; and they are decorated in the middle with patterns of butterfly, deer, and tiger or the ten longevity symbols, and along the edges with patterns composed of 卍 symbols. The ground warp of all six rugs are made from cotton yarn, while the ground weft is made of cotton yarn on three pieces, wool on one piece and cotton and viscose rayon. The ground weft yarn from four pieces are Z-twist yarn made with two or more S-twist cotton yarn. Four to six colors were used for the pile weft, all being natural colors except for red. Two or more S- or Z-twist yarn were twisted together in the opposite twist for the pile weft, with the thickness determining the number of threads used. Six or more weft threads were used to make the start and end points of the rug; and the ground warp ends were arranged by tying every four of them together. For the left and right edges, three or more threads were wrapped together into a round stick-like form, and the second and third inner ground warps from the edges were stitched on to the wrapped edge. For the loop pile, loops were made in the direction of the warp; the ground warp and the ground weft may have been made with cotton, the pile warp with wool yarn. An analysis of the components of three rugs was conducted to determine which types of animal hair were used for the pile weft. Despite some inconclusive results, it was revealed that goat hair and fat-tailed sheep hair were used, raising the possibility that various kinds of animal fur were used in the production of pile cloth rugs. The six rugs examined in this study are estimated to have been made between the late 1800s and the early 1900s. Although the manufacturer of the rugs cannot be confirmed, we concluded that the rugs were produced in Korea after referring to the documentation of the domestic production of pile cloth rugs during the aforementioned period and the form and placements of the patterns on the rugs.

  • With the transition of archaeological recording method's transition from analog to digital, the 3D scanning technology has been actively adopted within the field. Research on the digital archaeological digital data gathered from 3D scanning and photogrammetry is continuously being conducted. However, due to cost and manpower issues, most buried cultural heritage organizations are hesitating to adopt such digital technology. This paper aims to present a digital recording method of relics utilizing open-source software and photogrammetry technology, which is believed to be the most efficient method among 3D scanning methods. The digital recording process of relics consists of three stages: acquiring a 3D model, creating a joining map with the edited 3D model, and creating an digital drawing. In order to enhance the accessibility, this method only utilizes open-source software throughout the entire process. The results of this study confirms that in terms of quantitative evaluation, the deviation of numerical measurement between the actual artifact and the 3D model was minimal. In addition, the results of quantitative quality analysis from the open-source software and the commercial software showed high similarity. However, the data processing time was overwhelmingly fast for commercial software, which is believed to be a result of high computational speed from the improved algorithm. In qualitative evaluation, some differences in mesh and texture quality occurred. In the 3D model generated by opensource software, following problems occurred: noise on the mesh surface, harsh surface of the mesh, and difficulty in confirming the production marks of relics and the expression of patterns. However, some of the open source software did generate the quality comparable to that of commercial software in quantitative and qualitative evaluations. Open-source software for editing 3D models was able to not only post-process, match, and merge the 3D model, but also scale adjustment, join surface production, and render image necessary for the actual measurement of relics. The final completed drawing was tracked by the CAD program, which is also an open-source software. In archaeological research, photogrammetry is very applicable to various processes, including excavation, writing reports, and research on numerical data from 3D models. With the breakthrough development of computer vision, the types of open-source software have been diversified and the performance has significantly improved. With the high accessibility to such digital technology, the acquisition of 3D model data in archaeology will be used as basic data for preservation and active research of cultural heritage.

  • In the mobile Internet environment, frequent communications between a mobile device and a content server are required for searching or downloading learning materials. In this paper, we propose an efficient prefetching technique to reduce the network cost and to improve the communication efficiency in the mobile dictionary. Our prefetching-based approach can be explained as follows. First, we propose an overall framework for the prefetching-based mobile dictionary. Second, we present a systematic way of determining the amount of prefetching data for each of packet-based and flat-rate billing cases. Third, by focusing on the English-Korean mobile dictionary for middle or high school students, we propose an intuitive method of determining the words to be prefetched in advance. Fourth, based on these determination methods, we propose an efficient prefetching algorithm. Fifth, through experiments, we show the superiority of our prefetching-based method. From this approach, we can summarize major contributions as follows. First, to our best knowledge, this is the first attempt to exploit prefetching techniques in mobile applications. Second, we propose a systematic way of applying prefetching techniques to a mobile dictionary. Third, using prefetching techniques we improve the overall performance of a network-based mobile dictionary. Experimental results show that, compared with the traditional on-demand approach, our prefetching based approach improves the average performance by $9.8%{\sim}33.2%$. These results indicate that our framework can be widely used not only in the mobile dictionary but also in other mobile Internet applications that require the prefetching technique.

  • Normalization transform is very useful for finding the overall trend of the time-series data since it enables finding sequences with similar fluctuation patterns. The previous subsequence matching method with normalization transform, however, would incur index overhead both in storage space and in update maintenance since it should build multiple indexes for supporting arbitrary length of query sequences. To solve this problem, we propose a single index approach for the normalization transformed subsequence matching that supports arbitrary length of query sequences. For the single index approach, we first provide the notion of inclusion-normalization transform by generalizing the original definition of normalization transform. The inclusion-normalization transform normalizes a window by using the mean and the standard deviation of a subsequence that includes the window. Next, we formally prove correctness of the proposed method that uses the inclusion-normalization transform for the normalization transformed subsequence matching. We then propose subsequence matching and index building algorithms to implement the proposed method. Experimental results for real stock data show that our method improves performance by up to $2.5{\sim}2.8$ times over the previous method. Our approach has an additional advantage of being generalized to support many sorts of other transforms as well as normalization transform. Therefore, we believe our work will be widely used in many sorts of transform-based subsequence matching methods.
