The surge characteristics research of an electrodeless fluorescent lamp system (무전극 형광램프 시스템의 서어지 특성 연구)

  • In this paper, we have investigated the inductive voltages, currents, frequencies of output line of electrodeless fluorescent lamp system as an surge is supplied and have analyzed the surge characteristics as an phase alteration of input voltage with an surge suppling. A result os measurement is that the inductive over-voltages(H-PE, N-PE) on output line of electrodeles fluorescent lamp system showed more high than inductive overvoltages of H(hot)-N(neutral) line. Therefore, designer of system will lay emphasis on an protective circuit with considening an overvoltage(H-PE, N-PE) or phase of input voltage.

  • The RF inductive discharge or inductively coupled plasma (ICP) continues to attract growing attention as an effective plasma source in many industrial applications, the best known of which are plasma processing and lighting technicology. Although most practical ICP operate at 13.56 [MHz]and 2.65 [MHz], the trend to reduce the operating frequency is clearly recognizable from recent ICP developments. In an electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the use of a lower operating frequency simplifies and reduces cost of rf matching systems and rf generators and can eliminate capacitive coupling between the inductor coil and plasma, which could be a strong factor in wall erosion and plasma contamination. In this study, the configuration of ferrite and fixture which operates at the frequency of 2.65[MHz]was discussed as functions of the ferrite thickness and distance by using the electromagnetic simulation software (Maxwell 2D).

  • In this paper, an application of the ZVT-PWM(zero-voltage-transition) boost converter, which has great advantage on miniaturization and high power density, to the power factor correction circuit of the EFL(electrodeless fluorescent lamp) inverter is studied. The operation principles of the converter are described to identify the power factor correction characteristic of the inverter. Experimentally obtaining the high power factor above 0.99, it is verified that the power factor correction of the EFL inverter successfully achieved.

  • An electric power efficiency of electrodeless fluorescent lamp has big relative property of gas in lamp, gas pressure, lamp formation, ingredients of magnetic substance and shape and action frequency etc. We used magnetic substance that open self examination material of electrodeless fluorescent lamp antenna. Ferrite that is used in this experiment was Mn-Zn type. We have examined resistance kind, impedance, Q-factor's frequency characteristic by ferrite. Impedance, resistance and capacitance did not show difference in start frequency 2.65 [MHz] but there was difference quantity. We could know Q-factor's difference according to material, and Q-factor's is important part of antenna design.

  • In this paper, we measured the electrical and optical characteristics of an electrodeless fluorescent lamp system as product from the inside and outside of the country and compared the measured data. Output current wave of domestic 85W is unstable than it's of QL 85 W and the former of spend time after discharging and output current value is larger than the latter. Moreover optical characteristics(brightness, flux, efficiency) value of the former is small than the latter but color rendering index is equivalent. In conclusion, if we improve a little more quality then we must secure the superiority in competition.

  • An electric power efficiency of electrodeless fluorescent lamp has big relative propertye of gas in lamp, gas pressure, lamp formation, ingredients of magnetic substance and shape and action frequency etc. We used magnetic substance that open self-examination material of electrodeless fluorescent lamp antenna. Ferrite that is used in this experiment was Mn-Zn type. Coill turn was changed from 13th to 15th turn to recognize brightness change of lamp by winding number. Optical equipment that used in an experiment was used to measure brightness (LS-100). When an electrodeless fluorescent lamp was made using and T company's PE22, was it showed the highest brightness. As number of winding is increased the brightness increased, and starting characteristic became good.

  • In recent, there have been several developments in lamp technology that promise savings in electrical power consumption and improved quality of the lighting space. Above ail, the advantage of ring-shaped electrodeless fluorescent lamp is the removal of internal electrodes and heating filaments that are a light-limiting factor of conventional fluorescent lamps. Therefore, the life time of ring-shaped electrodeless fluorescent lamps is substantially higher than that of conventional fluorescent lamps and last up to 60,000 hours and is intended as a high efficacy replacement for the incandescent reflector lamp in many applications. In this paper, when appling the electrodeless lamp in luminaire, We analyzed change of optical and electrical characteristics.
