  • In this paper, We measured an electric and optical characteristics for electrodeless fluorescent lamp system. We used the CCD(charged couple device) and Integrating Sphere Photometer to detect the accurate variation of data and got a characteristic of output voltage and current, luminance, luminous flux etc. And then we come to understand that the efficiency of electrodeless fluorescent lamps are similar to CFLs(compact fluorescent lamp) or HID(high intensity discharge lamp).

  • Offline switching power supplies have high voltage and high current switching waveforms that generate Electromagnetic Interference(EMI) in the form of both conducted and radiated emissions. Consequently, all off-line power supplies must be designed to attenuate or suppress EMI emissions below commonly acceptable limits. Electrodeless fluorescent lamp's ballasts have AC/DC flyback converter, so we must control the EMI emissions.

  • In this paper, we measured the electrical and optical characteristics of an electrodeless fluorescent lamp system as product of the inside and outside of the country and compared the measured data. Output current wave of domestic 150 W is unstable than it's of Endura 150 W. But the former of spend time after discharging and output current value is small than the latter. And optical characteristics(brightness, flux, color rendering index, efficiency) value of the former is a little small than the latter. In conclusion, if we improve a little more quality then we must secure the superiority in competition.

  • In this paper, We have measured the luminous flux variation of electrodeless fluorescent lamp system reducing a power source to 70% and applying a short interruption caused by the power failure. So we can understood that the protective device for apparatus of power sources is important thing to control electrodeless fluorescent lamp system.

Moreover optical characteristics(brightness, flux, efficiency) value of the former is small than the latter but color rendering index is equivalent. In conclusion, if we improve a little more quality then we must secure the superiority in competition.

  • This paper describes the first-year accomplishments in the R'||'&'||'D project entitled, "Electrodeless Fluorescent Lamp Technology Using High-Frequency Discharges (Linear and Circular Type)," supported by a contract from the Korea Energy Management Corporation (KEMCO). One of the most important accomplishments in the prihect is that the luminance of electrodeless fluorescent lamps is increased more than 25% when the hybrid technique of capacitive and inductive couplings is utilized for both linear and circular types of high-frequency discharge fluorescent lamps compared to the case where pure capacitive couplings are used. We present the results of the experiments and the status of the development efforts in the project.t.
