Aerial Application using a Small RF Controlled Helicopter (I) - Status and Feasibility - (소형 무인헬기를 이용한 항공방제기술 (I) - 현황 및 타당성 고찰 -)

  • 현 방제작업의 노동집약적, 비효율적, 작업기피성 등을 고려할 때, 농산물의 경제적 생산을 위한 소형무인 항공방제기술을 개발하여 효율적이며 안정된 생산과 농업종사자의 작업환경을 개선하고 생력화함으로써 품질 및 가격에서 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있다. 연구에서 고찰한 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. \circled1 노동강도가 큰 수도작의 발제작업 및 적기성에 있어서 항공방제기술의 도입이 절실하다. \circled2 소형헬기의 작업능률은 30-50 ㏊/day로 소규모 지역에서 효율적으로 수행할 수 있다. \circled3 ULV (ultra low volume) 항공방제용 등록약제의 실적용이 가능하다. \circled4 일본의 경우 무인헬기를 이용한 방제 연면적은 44만 ㏊에 이르고 점차 증가하고 있다. \circled5 적기방제, 소규모 정밀방제, 환경과 소음 대책이 타 방법에 비하여 양호하다. \circled6 무인헬기를 이용한 방제작업은 작업자의 노동강도를 현저히 줄일 수 있다. \circled7 농업항공협회 등 안전운용체계를 확립하여 소형헬기의 안전한 운용을 추구해야한다. 현재 일부 방제 및 파종에 사용되는 유인헬기가 외국으로부터 도입되어 일부 사용되고 있으나 상기의 이유로 무인으로 작업이 가능한 소형 헬기의 개발이 절실한 실정이며 특히 항법시스템은 국가 간 기술적으로 폐쇄성이 강한 분야로 독자개발이 필요하다. 소형 무인 헬기의 농업이외의 적용 분야는 많으며 상업용 촬영, 군경용 감시 및 레저용 등으로 그 경제/산업적 파급 효과는 크다 하겠다.

Development of Collision Prevention System for Agricultural Unmanned Helicopter (LiDAR를 이용한 농업용 무인헬기 충돌방지시스템 개발)

  • This paper proposes a collision prevention system for an agricultural unmanned helicopter. The collision prevention system consists of an obstacle detection system, a mapping algorithm, and a collision avoidance algorithm. The obstacle detection system based on a LiDAR sensor is implemented in the unmanned helicopter and acquires distance information of obstacles in real-time. Then, an obstacle mapping is carried out by combining the distance to the obstacles with attitude/location data of the unmanned helicopter. In order to prevent a collision, alert is activated to an operator based on the map when the vehicle approaches to the obstacles. Moreover, the developed collision prevention system is verified through flight test simulating a flight pattern aerial spraying.

Herbicidal Effects on the Differential Rice Cultivation Condition and Damage of No-target Plants of Macro Granule Herbicide for Remote-controlled Aerial Application (무인헬기용 Macro granule 제초제의 벼 작형별 살초효과 및 주변작물에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was carried out to confirm characteristics of macro granule (GG) for herbicidal efficacy by using remote-controlled aerial application (RCAA) to control annual and perennial weeds in rice paddy field, and phytotoxicity to rice and non target plants of formulation types. Herbicidal efficacy of GG applied by using RCAA was 93.6~96.6% in flooded direct sowing cultivation. There was no difference in phytotoxicity between the hand and the power applicator methods in terms of height, number of tiller and yield component. Herbicidal efficacy of GG applied by using RCAA was 92.7~97.3% in machine transplanting rice field. There was no difference in phytotoxicity between the hand and RCAA methods in terms of height, number of tiller and yield component. When suspension concentrate (SC) and GG were applied directly on Chinese cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, pepper, soybean and wild sesame, several symptoms of injury such as, the inhibition of growth, yellowish, leaf fall and withering was observed.

A Point Navigation Guidance Law for Unmanned Helicopter Using Predicted Position (위치 예측에 기반한 무인헬기 점항법 유도법칙 개발)

  • This paper presents a new point navigation guidance law which is useful for unmanned helicopters. Predicting the future position, the guidance law generates velocity and heading commands, which are used as input to autopilot. This method differs from conventional guidance law in that it reorients the direction of flight velocity vector directly, not by bank angle indirectly. For flight tests, we have developed a flight control system for a R/C helicopters. The system consists of a flight control computer, navigation sensors, and a ground station The results of the test show that the proposed law guides a unmanned helicopter along a line path within a given area. In the future, we are planning to extend the guidance law to the mission of path following. i.e., waypoint navigation.

  • 2003년 일본으로부터 도입, 작년 말까지 45대의 무인헬기가 운영 중이다. 확대 도입에 앞서 충분한 방제면적 확보와 기타 활용성을 꼼꼼히 따져 경제적으로 운영되어야 하며 적당량의 농약이 균일 살포되는 자동조정시스템 개발과 전용 약제 및 제형개발, 표준 방제매뉴얼이 하루 빨리 정립되어야 할 것이다.

  • 재해 및 재난 발생에 따른 피해를 최소화하고자 무인헬기 기술과 IT기술의 실시간 방재 시스템을 융합하여 광범위한 환경을 대상으로 실시간 다각적 정보수집 기능을 제공하는 연구가 진행 중이다. 소형무인헬기에 개량된 자동항법기능과 무선 네트워크 기반의 실시간 멀티미디어 중계기능을 탑재하고 쉽게 사용 할 수 있는 지상관제시스템을 개발하여 대형재난 현장에 사용하면 다각적 동영상과 재해 현장 정보를 실시간으로 제공함으로써 초기 대응을 할 수 있어 재난의 확산을 최대한 방지 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 시스템을 보다 효과적으로 개발하기 위한 HILS(Hardware in the Loop Simulation) 기반 무인헬기 시뮬레이션 환경을 개발하고자 한다.

Efficacy of Foliar Herbicide Treatment by Unmanned Helicopter under Water-Seeded Rice Cultivation (벼 담수표면산파 재배에서 무인헬기를 이용한 제초제 경엽처리 효과)

  • This study was conducted to find out the effects of aerial application by unmanned helicopter (AAUH) on controlling weeds under water-seeded rice cultivation. Foliar herbicide (bentazone sodium + fenoxaprop-P-ethyl) was applied with diluted 8-times (standard concentration pest control) as AAUH. Foliar herbicide treatment with standard and two times amount were little damage, but with more than three times amount showed great damage in rice growth. Six annual and two perennial weeds were major weeds occurred in the experimental paddy field. On foliar herbicide treatment 25 days after direct seeding, AAUH showed high control values against weeds (96.3% for annual weeds and 99.8% for perennial weeds). There was no significant difference in weed control values between AAUH and conventional application. There was no spray injury against rice plants with aerial application. In the experiment for good spray timing (15, 20 and 25 days after direct seeding) 15 days showed highest weed control values with 98.5% to annual weeds and 99.8% to perennial weeds and no spray injury.

Development of Top/Bottom Omni Antenna Selecting System for Unmanned Helicopter (무인헬기 상/하부 전방향 안테나 선택 시스템 구현)

  • This paper implements an antenna selection logic that automatically selects omni-directional antennas mounted on the top and bottom of an unmanned helicopter to maintain the link margin of the data link at 0dB or higher during flight. The selection criteria were derived by simulating and analyzing the radiation pattern. In addition, it is implemented to select the optimal antenna in real time during the flight by deriving the directivity angle function.
