  • The first phase of architecture design is the field survey of the site and its surroundings. To gather the information there are two methods :the traditional method of an onsite survey, and recently using 3D geometry data and high quality image mapping from online services such as Google Earth. However, the urban condition is fast changing, and information from online services may lack sufficient information. This paper presents the to fast and effective site survey method for urban site using an affordable and fully automated UAV for the architectural design field.

  • Technical status and prospect of the subsonic airbreathing propulsion system composed of jet engine fuel feeding system and air intake for missile application is described herein, including analysis of some present airbreathing missiles. Comprehension on this can be applicable both to blow deeply about the same type missiles and to get some basic idea of unmanned air vehicle's and light aircraft's propulsion system.

Development of Flight Antennas for Micro Aerial Vehicle (소형 무인항공기 탑재형 안테나 개발)

  • The existing antenna that equipped with Micro Aerial Vehicle, microstrip antenna only can send and receive image signal because of limited bandwidth. But, proposed antenna that equipped with Micro Aerial Vehicle flight introduces tapered type patch antenna, also improves bandwidth then can transfer present location, altitude, movement speed. Furthermore, as a result of introduce stacked type, it transfers more quality of image signal, and represents most suitable performance in Korean peninsula that has many mountain peaks. In this paper, to transmit and receive the wideband signals with a antenna system, the wideband microstrip antenna is proposed and designed. This antenna operates at 2.4GHz. In this thesis, the resonance frequency of 2.4GHz and the reflective loss of the antenna of -22dB were calculated by measuring the fabricated Tapered Microstrip Patch Antenna which was designed with the resonance of 2.4GHz. The calculated gain and efficiency of antenna were 6.7dB and $60\%$ respectively. The characteristic of the bandwidth shows with $50\~60MHz$ which is $6.02\%$ at the basis of -l5dB reflective loss. The experimental results can be used in the characteristic of the resonators and this antenna produces a greatly enhanced bandwidth.

  • In this paper, we survey the Moving Target Indication(MTI) techniques for small UAVs. MTI consists of image alignment phase and frame differencing correction phase, and image alignment has two ways of parametric approach which is mainly focused in this paper and non-parametric approach. Since small UAVs are operated in the low altitude, the parallax is considerable and the epipolar geometry is applied to compensate the parallax. The related works and future works are presented.

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) refer to the aircraft which carries no human pilot and is operated under remote control or in autonomous operational mode. As the UAVs can perform the dull, dangerous and difficult missions, various kinds of UAVs with different sizes and weights have been developed and operated for both civil and military application. As the avionics and communication technology related to the UAVs are matured, the demand for the UAVs is dramatically increased. Therefore, It is important to develope airworthiness process and regulations of the UAVs to minimize related risk to the man and environment. This paper describes related regulations and classification of the small UAVs for different international airworthiness authorities. The analysis of the CS-LURS verses Stanag 4702 and Stanag 4703 can provide guidelines for the generation of the airworthiness certification criteria for the small UAVs in civil sector. This paper conducted kinetic impact energy analysis of the loss of the small UAVs control scenarios and of the very small UAVs under 66 joules. Based on the analysis, the energy impact analysis can be considered before the design certification approval for the small UAVs.

  • 최근 무인 항공기 발전으로 영상 촬영 및 도로 정보 획득과 같은 다양한 분야에서 이를 활용하고 있다. 특히 무인 항공기가 점점 소형화되어가고 있고, 안전하게 이동하고, 한 지점에 머무를 수 있는 기능이 개발되어 최근 ArDrone과 같은 쿼드로터가 각광을 받고 있다. 이와 같은 기술을 위치를 파악할 수 없는 외계 공간에서 활용을 한다면 인간이 지나갈 수 없는 협소한 공간 혹은 위험한 장소를 대신하여 탐색할 수 있어 위험에 처한 인명을 구하는데 큰 도움을 줄 수 있다. 하지만 외계 공간에서는 GPS와 같은 위치를 인식할 수 없어 정해진 임무를 수행하기란 매우 어려운 일이다. 본 논문에서는 최근 각광받고 있는 SLAM 기술을 사용하여 3차원 지도를 생성하고, 이를 기반으로 실시간으로 영상을 인식하여 위치를 파악한 후 외계공간에서 로버를 사용하여 자율 주행이 가능한 시스템에 대한 개념 설계 내용을 설명한다.

  • NASA(미국 항공우주청)를 중심으로 무인항공기교통관리(UTM) 체계를 이용한 드론 항공교통통제 모의시험을 진행하고 있다. 국내에서도 2017년부터 안전한 무인항공기교통관리(UTM) 체계 구축을 위한 '저고도 무인기 감시관리 기술 개발 및 시스템 시범 운용사업'을 진행할 예정이다. 본 논문은 지상도로망을 버드뷰(Birdview)처럼 내려다보며 비행할 수 있는 저고도 드론이 안전하고 효율적인 운항을 보장하기 위해서는, 상공에 장애물이 없는 지상도로망의 상공에 가상도로망과 가상신호체계를 확장시킨 한국형 가상 'SKYWAY' 항법 및 관제 체계(${\mu}$ATM)에 관한 기획 연구에 관한 것이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 PC104 모듈을 탑재하여 만들어진 무인 항공 제어 시스템에 관한 내용을 기술한다. 임베디드 리눅스를 사용하여 제작된 항공기 제어 시스템은 디바이스 드라이버와 제어 애플리케이션으로 구성되어 있다. PC104 모듈에는 비행에 필요한 외부 장치들이 연결되는데, 연결된 장치에서 측정한 데이터를 처리하여 애플리케이션으로 전달해 주는 역할을 하는 디바이스 드라이버를 설명하고, 디바이스 드라이버에서 전달받은 데이터를 기반으로 구현한 애플리케이션에 대한 내용을 설명한다. 또한 향후 시스템 운용에 시뮬레이션 기능 구현의 필요성과 RTOS 적용 가능성을 제시해 본다.

Fixed-Wing UAV's Image-Based Target Detection and Tracking using Embedded Processor (임베디드 프로세서를 이용한 고정익 무인항공기 영상기반 목표물 탐지 및 추적)

  • In this paper, we described development of on-board image processing system and its process and verified its performance through flight experiment. The image processing board has single ARM(Advanced Risk Machine) processor. We performed Embedded Linux Porting. Algorithm to be applied for object tracking is color-based image processing algorithm, it can be designed to track the object that has specific color on ground in real-time. To verify performance of the on-board image processing system, we performed flight test using the PNUAV, UAV developed by LAB. Also, we performed optimization of the image processing algorithm and kernel to improve real-time performance. Finally we confirmed that proposed system can track the blue-color object within four pixels error range consistently in the experiment.

Total System Error Analysis for Corridor derivation of Hybrid VTOL through Flight Test (비행시험을 통한 복합형 수직이착륙 무인항공기의 회랑 산출을 위한 통합시스템오차 분석)

  • In this study, when establishing a UTM(UAS Traffic Management) system, a corridor must be set to separate the flight distance between unmanned aerial vehicles, and the size of the corridor was calculated in consideration of TSE(Total System Error). The flight data of the straight section and the turning section were collected using a hybrid vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial vehicle. The flight data were derived from the TSE using the SQSM(Scalar Quantity Summation Method) method, and the impact on the straight and turning sections was analyzed by calculating in detail by NSE(Navigation System Error) and FTE(Flight Technical Error). The corridor size was calculated by referring to the TSE analysis results and PBN (Performance-based Navigation) manual.
