  • This study investigated the effects of sports game outcomes on spectators' Ad recall, and the sports game induced suspense was also investigated for its moderating effects between the variables. On the day after the 2012 London Olympic soccer games, university students (N=257) from the Busan area completed questionnaires and MANOVA was utilized for data analysis. Results of this study revealed that outcome of sports game have significant effects on recall of both brand name and contents which aired during a halftime break. In addition, significant moderating effects of sports game induced suspense were found on brand name and contents recall. Based on the results, some suggestions for marketing practitioners are discussed and future research directions are outlined.

  • Team standings in the regular professional baseball league should be determined based on a reasonable criterion; however, an unreasonable Japanese method is being used in Korea as of 2011. In this paper, we suggest a new method of computing the percentage of victories constructed by combining the advantages of the methods to determine team standings used in Korean professional baseball. We also have applied preexistent methods and suggested method to past and present Korean professional baseball data.

Effects of the New Method of Computing Percentage of Victories on 2009~2010 Korea Professional Baseball and Suggestion of Complementary Measures (새로운 승률 계산 방식이 2009년과 2010년의 한국프로야구에 미친 영향 및 보완할 점)

  • Since 2009, a new method of computing the percentage of victories is being used in the regular league of the Korean professional baseball. This method produced enormous results from the first year of application, and also had an effect on the team standings in 2010. In this paper, we have examined the effects this method had on the Korean professional baseball in 2009 and 2010. We also have discussed what the Korea Baseball Organization need to complement in using this method and suggested complementary measures.

  • Monte-Carlo Tree Search(MCTS) is a best-first tree search algorithm and has been successfully applied to various games, especially to the game of Go. We evaluate the performance of MCTS playing against each other in the game of Tic-Tac-Toe. It reveals that the first player always has an overwhelming advantage to the second player; and we try to find out the reason why the first player is superior to the second player in spite of the fact that the best game result should be a draw. Since MCTS is a statistical algorithm based on the repeated random sampling, it cannot adequately tackle an urgent problem that needs a strategy, especially for the second player. For this, we propose a strategic MCTS(S-MCTS) and show that the S-MCTS player never loses a Tic-Tac-Toe game.

  • This study was the content and flow of the present study Karate match. 2011, second elimination rounds national developmen, 7th Korea Open International Championships and National development in first elimination rounds, 2012 is a World Cup game against Karate1 in Busan. Man Of The match in the final three games by 5 grade were selected to match match 15, 30 people. I was about to score the study Karate and attack techniques. The conclusion is as follows: 1) In this study, there was a significant difference in use between the class score and the frequency of use of attack technology. The frequency of use of the technology of attack of each class per 60kg or less, 67kg or less, 75kg or less, was the order of 84kg and more than 84kg or less. Frequency of use disonchigi, apsonchigi, apdollyeochagi, geolgi aphurigi. It was followed by scores of attack technology of class per 84kg or more, 60kg or less, 67kg or less, 75kg or less, the following 84kg. 2) Winner has a lot of attack skills than the loser. The game was a draw and the loser disonchigi, apdollyeochagi, apsonchigi. The winner is aphurigi, apdollyeochagi, apsonchigi in the order of many uses.

  • An experiment was designed to see if the hippocampus exerts any influence upon the aggressive behavior of male rats. Fighting between rats was observed for the estimation of aggressiveness. Seventeen rats in which the hippocampus was almost totally removed through a small hole with a diameter around 3 mm made in the neocortex at the boundary between the parietal and occipital lobes (hippocampal group), 8 rats with similar neocortical damage alone (operated control group), and 17 normal control rats (normal group) were prepared and subjected to the experiment 3 months after the operation. Applying electric shock of short duration to the feet in a box with grid floor, a fight was provoked between an animal belonging to the hippocampal group and one belonging to the nor-mal group, between a rat of the hippocampal group and one of the operated control group, and also between a rat of the operated control group and one of the normal group. Three observers judged the performance of each animal independently and described it as winning, defeated, tied, or non-fighting. Fifteen shocked trials were administered to each pair of animals with around 2 minutes' interval between each trial. An animal received a 'judging score' of 3 when it won more frequently than was defeated, a judging score of 2 when it won as frequently as was defeated, when all fights were tied, or when no fighting occurred, while it received a judging score of 1 when it won less frequently than was defeated. Group differences in performances were analyzed in terms of judging score using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for one sample. The results obtained were as follows: 1. In the fights between the hippocampal and the normal groups, the hippocampal animals made significantly better judging scores than the normal animals did (Table 1). 2. There was no significant difference between the hippocampal and the operated control group as to the judging scores they made in the course of fights between the two groups. However, the hippocampal animals tended to dominate over the operated control group as judged by comparing the total 'winning' of the former (30) to that of the latter (14) (Table 2). 3. The total judging score made by the operated control group in the course of the fights against the normal group was not significantly superior to that made by the normal group (Table 3). It was inferred from the above results that, though inconspicuous, the hippocampus tended to exert an inhibitory influence upon the aggressive behavior of male rats.
