MIPv4/MIPv6 Mobility Simulation Model of the Multihomed Node (멀티홈드 노드의 MIPv4/MIPv6 이동성 시뮬레이션 모델)

  • Nowadays, the multihomed host equipped with multiple network interfaces has been interested research in next generation wireless network, because the mobile users expect that they can be able to access services not only anywhere, at any time and from any network but also simultaneously. This paper addresses the mobility simulation model of the multihomed node for supporting MIPv4 and MIPv6 function in an interworking of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) and IEEE 802.11 WLAN. The multihomed node with two air interfaces has been developed based on WiMAX and WLAN workstation node model in simulation software. The main point of the developed model is to support both MIPv4 and MIPv6 function, and provide network selection policy for the multihomed node between WiMAX and WLAN network. Based on the received Router Advertisement along with the interface number, we can manage the access interfaces in ordered list to make handover decision while the multihomed node is moving. In the end of this paper, the simulation scenarios and results are shown for testing MIPv4 and MIPv6 function.

  • 침체된 가전 산업과 IT 산업을 일으켜 세울 가장 유력한 기술이 홈 네트워크 기술임에는 많은 공감대를 형성하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 정보통신부가 홈 네트워킹 기술을 이용하여, 기존의 가전 시장이 겪고 있는 심각한 침체 현상을 해소하고 전 국민들의 정보화 마인드 확산을 위해 지난 2000년 3월, 인터넷 정보가전 산업 협의회를 구성하였으며, 5년 동안 약 1조 천억원의 연구비를 투입하여 홈 네트워크 및 사이버 아파트 구축을 위한 기술 개발 및 표준을 제정하고 있는 것이 이를 입증하고 있는 것이다. 이와 같은 홈 네트워킹 기술중에서 IEEE 1394 기술은 오디오 비디오 기기의 디지털화가 이루어지고 멀티미디어 환경이 부상함에 따라 이들간의 공통된 새로운 인터페이스 방식의 필요에 의해 발생한 버스 방식으로 USB가 제공하지 못하는 고속의 실시간 데이터 전송을 가능하게 해주는 차세대 핵심 기술이다. 기가비트급의 높은 데이터 전송율을 자랑하는 IEEE1394 기술은 따라서 멀티미디어 PC와 오디오/비디오 등 높은 대역폭을 요구하는 가전기기를 하나로 묶어줄 수 있는 유일한 기술이며, 그 위에 TCP/IP 프로토콜을 얹어서 인터넷과도 직접 연결될수 있다. 본 고에서는 홈 네트워킹의 기본 개념을 살펴보고, 홈 네트워킹의 중심으로 판단되는 Digital TV와 주변 가전 기기 사이에서 MPEG2-TS신호의 실시간 전송을 가능하게 하는 디지털 인터페이스 기술인 IEEE1394와 그 관련 기술의 동향에 대해 소개하였다. IEEE802.11a 기술을 이용한 무선 1394 기술은 댁내 전반에 산재해 있는 이러한 가전기기를 연결시켜줄 수 있는 Home Network Backbone이 될 것으로 전망된다.

Multi-modal Sense based Interface for Augmented Reality in Table Top Display (테이블 탑 디스플레이 기반 증강현실 구현을 위한 다중 감각 지원 인터페이스)

  • Applications which are implemented on Table Top Display are controlled by hands, so that they support an intuitive interface to users. Users feel the real sense when they interact on the virtual scene in Table Top Display. However, most of conventional augmented reality applications on Table Top Display satisfy only visual sense. In this paper, we propose an interface that supports multi-modal sense in that tactile sense is utilized for augment reality by vibrating a physical control unit when it collides to virtual objects. Users can feel the collision in addition to visual scene. The proposed system facilitates tactile augmented reality through an air hockey game. A physical control unit vibrates when it receives virtual collision data over wireless communication. Since the use of tabletop display environment is extended with a tactile sense based physical unit other than hand, it provides a more intuitive interface.

  • In this paper, we designed and built a wired temperature controller system which is based on ASIC for a wireless temperature controller system based on FPGA. FPGA devices and wireless controller systems are growing quickly especially for industrial systems for sensing temperature and humidity. FPGA can set up a desired system and a CPU, and directly set up or change a peripheral device based on an IP quickly for an affordable price. This wireless system is easy to install in the field where there are lots of changes and the system is complex. It also has advantages for maintenance. In this study, we are using a 32 bit RISC CPU based on MicroBlaze, with a touch interface, peripheral device, and porting the embedded Linux. Also, we added wireless communication using ZigBee. With this system we provide remote monitoring and control through the web by adding a web server. Compared to the original system, we say not only a performance improvement, but also more efficient development and cheaper costs. In this study, we focused especially on building a better development environment and a more effective user interface.

  • The displays and the interactive interfaces are important factors to enhance immersion in the VR experience pavilion. In the VR experience pavilion displaying 3D Virtual environment, it is difficult to have multi-display with single viewpoint because of the field of view. Also it costs a lot to construct a large size display. The interaction device between user and VR environment necessary to immersion has used mainly the touchscreens with the restricted display area or the button-based input devices so far. In this paper, we suggest a method for constructing extensible multi-display which are showing VR environment in realtime and a method for interaction using a ZA Sensor which is wireless and guarantees the user's unrestricted movement. The proposed method can make a VR experience pavilion more immersive at less cost.

  • 현재 무선 랜 기반의 WMN은 도심지와 같은 통화량이 많은 지역('핫존')에서 서비스 되고 있다. 다수 핫존을 서비스하는 엑세스 포인트(AP)별로 인터넷 망에 유선 접속할 경우, 망 접속 비용이 높지만, WMN 기술을 이용하면 핫존별로 산재한 트래픽의 집중을 통해 자원을 대폭 줄일 수 있다. 또한, IEEE 802.11 표준은 가용한 채널이 다양한 직교주파수로 되어있어 IEEE 802.11b에서는 2.4GHz에서 간섭 없는 3개의 채널을 제공하고 IEEE 802.11a는 5GHz에서 간섭 없는 12개의 채널을 제공한다. 근접한 access point (AP)주변에는 다른 채널을 할당함으로써 근접한 AP사이에서의 간섭을 막을 수 있다. IEEE 802.11 표준은 동시 사용에 1개의 채널만 사용하게 되어있어 가용한 채널을 동시에 간섭 없이 사용함으로써 전체적인 throuput을 증대 시킬 수 있어 IEEE 802.11 표준 기반의 MAC 프로토콜의 수정만으로 상, 하 레이어의 수정 없이 향상된 멀티채널을 위한 MAC 프로토콜을 제시한다.

  • Many applications are developed on variety type of mobile terminal with mobile tole-communication improvement. We suggest that we offer more improve multimedia environment on that development. So we design SWF player which supports Macromedia SWF file format. It is application that animation and graphic module are independent of system. In addition to, we implement SWF player on mobile communication environment. for the purpose of it, we adapt AKL concept, which is designed for the consistent interface on heterogeneous operating system environment.

  • SDR technology is a fundamental wireless access technology that combines and accommodates multiple wireless communication standards in one transceiver system through just modifying software using modular communication platforms without any hardware modifications for RF and IF signal processing on the basis of high performance DSP devices. Various communication systems that are designed under diverse and complex network environments require the communication platforms on the basis of SDR supporting reorganization to guarantee simple and fast communication interfaces among the respective wireless networks. This paper introduces a main idea on the implementation of platform on the basis of SDR and a communication platform is designed for experiments that is composed of a DSP board with TMS320C6713 CPU, a FPGA board processing IF signals, and a module with RF transceiver processing wireless LAN frequency bandwidth. Various modulation schemes(BPSK, QPSK, and 16QAM) used in communication systems are applied and tested on the designed platform and the test results shows that it is possible to design a reconfigurable communication terminal platform.

  • As compared with wired network environment, mobile VOD service in wireless network environment is difficult to guarantee the quality of VOD service due to the limitation of the system resources. Moreover, the wireless network has small bandwidth resources and short access range so that has limitations for providing the service to a large number of mobile clients. The limited battery capacity of a mobile device becomes an obstacle to mobile clients for enjoying VOD service for a long time. Therefore, these drawbacks should be considered in developing mobile VOD applications. This paper proposes a new technique for improving QoS of mobile VOD service by jointly use of broadcasting technique, which can provide VOD service to a large number of mobile clients simultaneously, and bursty communication technique, which can reduce the power consumption of a mobile device. With having these two techniques, streaming data are divided into segments, each of which is grouped into a particular packet and then transmitted at a time in the busty communication manner. In the performance evaluation, the power consumption on WNIC of a mobile device can be reduced by over 80%, and the initial service delay can be reduced in proportion to the number of channels compared with the existing staggered broadcasting technique.

  • In order to use the VR HMD, operation through separate controllers in both hands is required. Methods for text input in VR include a method of selecting virtual keyboard keys on the screen one by one using a controller, a method of inputting through a keyboard that is a resource of a computer by connecting a computer and VR, or a method of inputting through a keyboard that is a resource of a computer by purchasing a wireless keyboard in VR and wireless keyboard connection method. As such, the text input method in current VR equipment causes inconvenience and additional costs to users. For these reasons, most of the VR-related contents are limited to simple functions such as games or viewers, and there is a risk that VR equipment will be recognized as a simple game machine. Therefore, in this study, a multi-input interface using hand tracking provided by the Oculus Quest2 device is designed and partially implemented. Through this, it is expected that various tasks such as document work and business processing as well as games can be conveniently used using VR equipment.
