Development of A CanSat System Applying High Agility Camera and Remote Control Camera (고기동 안정화 카메라 및 원격제어 셀프카메라를 적용한 캔위성 시스템 개발)

  • The High Agility and Remote Control Camera System Can-Satellite ($HA+RC^2S$ CanSat) proposed in this study is a satellite designed by the authors of this work and submitted as an entry in the 2017 CanSat competition in Goheung gun, Jeonnam, Korea. The primary mission of this work is to develop a high agility camera system (HACS) that can obtain high quality images in the air. This objective is achieved by using a tuned mass damper (TMD) to attenuate the residual vibration that occurs immediately after rotating the camera. The secondary objective is to obtain a self-image of CanSat in the air using a remote control self-camera system (RCSS) that is wirelessly controlled using a joystick from a ground station. This paper describes the development process of the $HA+RC^2S$ CanSat, including mission definition, system design, manufacturing, function and performance tests carried out on the ground, and final launch test.

ICT based Wireless Power Transmission System Development (ICT 기반의 무선전력전송 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, wireless power transmission has attracted much interest and is the subject of much research in industry and academia. As its name implies, it is a technology which involves transferring power without wires. This paper presents the design of an ICT-based wireless power transmission system. The proposed system consists of a wireless transceiver unit and high-efficiency coil unit, which can increase both the transmission efficiency and the effective power distance. In particular, the wireless transceiver unit was designed to work with the ICT technique to enable real-time remote monitoring. Also, studies were done relating to the effect of reducing the standby power. The optimal frequency of IGBT devices used in industrial wireless power systems of 20[KHz] was utilized. The values of $23.9[{\mu}H]$ and $2.64[{\mu}F]$ were selected for L and C, respectively, through many field experiments designed to optimize the system design. In addition, an output current controlling algorithm was developed for the purpose of reducing the standby power. The results presented in this paper represent a 75[%] to 85[%] higher power transmission efficiency with a 10[%] increase in the effective power transmission distance compared with the existing systems. As a result, the proposed system exhibits a lower standby power and maintenance costs. Also, the designed wireless transceiver unit facilitates fault detection by means of user acquired data with the development of the ICT applied program.

Design and Application of a LonRF Device based Sensor Network for an Ubiquitous Home Network (유비쿼터스 홈네트워크를 위한 LonRF 디바이스 기반의 센서 네트워크 설계 및 응용)

  • For realizing an ubiquitous home network(uHome-net), various sensors should be able to be connected to an integrated wire/wireless sensor network. This paper describes an application case of applying LonWorks technology being widely used in control network to wire/wireless sensor network in uHome-net and the design and application of LonRF device that consists of a neuron chip including LonTalk protocol, a 433.92MHz RF transceiver, a sensor, and application programs. As an application example of the LonRF device, the LonRF smart badge that can measure the 3D location of objects in indoor environment and interwork with the uHome-net was developed. LonRF device based home network services were realized on the uHome-net testbed such as indoor positioning service, remote surveillance service and remote metering service were realized. This research shows that LonWorks technology based sensor network could be applicable to the control network in an ubiquitous home network and the LonRF device can be used as a wireless node in various sensor networks.

  • The development of various contents has been accelerated with the explosive increase of the number of internet users, the rapid expansion of wireless internet service and the pervasion of mobile terminal. Mobile service is able to offer the elastic service to anyone regardless of the place and the time. With this characteristics, this service could be extended even to the pace which the access was limited with the existing line service. The purpose of this study is to propose a system which is able to make a remote control of computer by means of mobile as an example of the production of contents for such mobile service. With this system it could be identified what kind of job a user of PC is making by mobile phone regardless of the time and place. The functions such as termination reboot, messenger, macro execution, and timer are included. The greatest advantage of the system proposed in this paper is to protect the youth, who are making an access recklessly to the harmful site, by use of mobile at my time and any place.

  • In this paper, we propose speech interlace using VoiceXML in home network system Existing home network uses Bluetooth, IrDA, wireless LAN and Home RF but these was able to use a long distance such as outdoors or these was difficult to using method. The proposing VoiceXML speech interlace is supported with home network services more than other interface technology in a long distance also speech interlace controls home server using a wire and a wireless phone and is informed of problems to direct calling for user through VoiceXML server. In this paper, such speech interlace is able to use the aspect of home network and supports to practical remote gauge examination, remote control services. And on the basic of that, we evaluate efficiency of purposed method.

Field Application of a Cable NDT System for Cable-Stayed Bridge Using MFL Sensors Integrated Climbing Robot (누설자속센서를 탑재시킨 이동로봇을 이용한 사장교 케이블 비파괴검사 시스템의 현장 적용)

  • In this study, an automated cable non-destructive testing(NDT) system was developed to monitor the steel cables that are a core component of cable-stayed bridges. The magnetic flux leakage(MFL) method, which is suitable for ferromagnetic continuum structures and has been verified in previous studies, was applied to the cable inspection. A multi-channel MFL sensor head was fabricated using hall sensors and permanent magnets. A wheel-based cable climbing robot was fabricated to improve the accessibility to the cables, and operating software was developed to monitor the MFL-based NDT research and control the climbing robot. Remote data transmission and robot control were realized by applying wireless LAN communication. Finally, the developed element techniques were integrated into an MFL-based cable NDT system, and the field applicability of this system was verified through a field test at Seohae Bridge, which is a typical cable-stayed bridge currently in operation.

  • ubiquitous network management system (u-NMS) is the network management system based on smartphone which are recently of wide use. The purpose of the u-NMS is to provide convenience for network administrator utilizing the mobility of smartphone and to manage the network efficiently. This paper proposes the smart NMS agent and the mobility management server (MMS). The smart NMS agent enables to use the monitoring web server and remote control application on the smartphone in wireless network. The MMS is developed to reduce the problems such as handover latency and packet loss, which can be taken place in wireless network. The network manager can monitor traffic in real time through the smart NMS agent and remotely control the network efficiently when sudden failures happen in the u-NMS. In this paper, performance evaluation is carried out with our test-bed system implemented. We focus on the measurement of the MMS performance. When the MMS is compared to previous mobility management protocol, our mobility management server reduces the average latency up to 65% in initial access, handover latency and processing delay to the network management center.

  • 본 논문에서는 닌텐도 DS를 이용하여, 임베디드 소프트웨어 교육을 수행하기 위한 준비 과정과, 실제 교육 내용을 소개하고, 향후 계획을 공유하고자 한다. 닌텐도 DS는 가격이 저렴한 게임기로 ARM9, ARM7 두 개의 CPU를 가지고 있으며, 기본적인 입출력 장치, 그래픽 가속기, 무선랜 등을 모두 포함하고 있다. 우리는 이 닌텐도 DS에 실시간 운영체제인 FreeRTOS를 이식하고, Eclipse 기반의 IDE 개발 도구 및 원격 디버깅 환경을 구축하였다. 또, 교육 과정에서는 하드웨어의 제어, RTOS의 기본 API의 활용, IPC, 동기화 문제의 해결에 이르는 주제를 포함함으로써 임베디드 소프트웨어 엔지니어가 지녀야할 기본적인 스킬들을 두루 다루는 실습이 되도록 구성하였다. 개발된 교육 환경 및 실습을 위한 강의 자료는 공개 소프트웨어로서 100% 공개되어 누구나 이용할 수 있다.

  • Expansion and growth of body information monitoring service based on WBAN technology speeds up technological evolution in bio-signal detection and measurement, real time monitoring of vital sign and telemedicine control. It is essential for taking action against such technological evolution that newest technology trend and standardization issue should be included in designing and materializing body-information monitoring system strategically to secure preceding technology and to preoccupy market. This paper investigates and analyzes technological trend & issues, and suggests task to take action technologically.

  • In this paper we proposed the remote control system for the door lock by the unified modem with the wireless and the power line modem. We developed the management system program between the door-lock system and the proposed unified modem. The infrared communication system was used between the Door-Lock system and the power line modem. With the unified developed modem and the Door-Lock system, it is possible to control remotely the developed system in the internet service area.
