Reference Interpolation Protocol for Reducing the Synchronization Messages in Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크에서 동기화 메시지 감소를 위한 참조 보간 프로토콜)

  • In wireless sensor network, to provide the proper responses quickly for diverse events, wireless sensor nodes have to cooperate with each other. For successful cooperation, the time synchronization among sensor nodes is an important requirement for application execution. In the wireless sensor network, the message packets including time information are used for the time synchronization. However, the transmission of many message packets will exhaust the battery of wireless sensor nodes. Since wireless sensor nodes works on the limited battery capacity, the excessive transmission of message packets has an negative impact upon their lifetime. In this paper, the Reference Interpolation Protocol (RIP) is proposed to reduce the number of message packets for the time synchronization. The proposed method performs the time interpolation between the reference packet's time and the global time of the base station. The proposed method completes the synchronization operation with only 2 message packets when compared to the previous Reference Broadcast Synchronization (RBS) technique. Due to the simple synchronization procedure, our method greatly reduces the number of synchronization messages and showed the 12.7 times less power consumption than the RBS method. From the decrease in the transmission of message packets, the convergence time among wireless sensor nodes is shortened and the lifetime of wireless sensor nodes is also prolonged as much as the amount of saved battery energy.

Adaptive Multi-view Video Interpolation Method Based on Inter-view Nonlinear Moving Blocks Estimation (시점 간 비선형 움직임 블록 예측에 기초한 적응적 다시점 비디오 보상 보간 기법)

  • Recently, many researches have been focused on multi-view video applications and services such as wireless video surveillance networks, wireless video sensor networks and wireless mobile video. In multi-view video signal processing, to exploit the strong correlation between images acquired by different cameras plays great role in developing a core technique of multi-view video coding. This paper proposes an adaptive multi-view video interpolation technique which is applicable for multi-view distributed video coding without requiring any cooperation amongst the cameras. The proposed algorithm estimates the non-linear moving blocks and employs disparity compensated view prediction, and then fills in the unreliable blocks. Through computer simulations, it is shown that the proposed method outperforms the conventional methods.

  • 무선 심전도 모니터링 기술로 인해 환자가 병원 내 어디에 있든 이들의 심전도를 원격에서 상시 관찰하는 것이 가능해 졌다. 그러나 무선 구간은 에러에 취약할 수 밖에 없으며 그 결과 원격 모니터에서 복원한 심전도 신호는 왜곡될 수 밖에 없다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 완화하여 복원 심전도 신호의 판독 가능성을 높이기 위한 두 가지 손실 데이터 보간 기법을 소개하고 그들의 성능을 평가한다.

  • This papers deals with feasibility study of wireless motion control. Wireless telecommunication advances with development of IT technology and extends more and more areas. So we selected Bluetooth out of the technologies(Bluetooth, SWAP(SharedWireless Access Protocol), IrDA(Infra Red Data Association), WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network)) which was developed for local data communication and set up simple experimental system for wireless data transfer and server and client program for wireless data transfer was wrote. We successfully transferred some data wirelessly with this program.

  • Ad-hoc 네트워크에서 각 노드는 분산 및 협동을 통해 자체적으로 이웃노드와 무선네트워크를 구축하고 주고받게 된다. 그러나 Ad-hoc 네트워크에서 하위노드의 제한적인 저장/통신/계산 능력, 상호인증의 어려움 등으로 기존의 보안대책을 그대로 적용할 수 없어 Ad-hoc 네트워크 특성에 맞는 새로운 보안대책이 필요하다. 이를 위해 비밀분산기법 중의 일종인 (t,n) 임계치 기법을 통해 노드를 인증하는 방식이 제안되기도 하였으나, 이는 고정된 t개 노드의 분산정보가 모여야만 원래의 비밀을 복원할 수 있는 것으로 주로 적대적 환경에 배치되어야 하는 전술 Ad-hoc 네트워크의 요구사항과는 부합하지 않는다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 기존의 (t,n) 임계치 기법에 Newton의 보간 다항식을 최초로 적용하여 임계값 t를 동적으로 변경할 수 있는 공개키 인증방식을 제안하고, 그 유효성을 증명하고자 한다.

  • In this paper we analyze the performance of 2-D PSAM for wireless OFDM systems. We apply the analysis of single-carrier PSAM to the 2-D time-frequency lattice of OFDM. To estimate channel fading, we use interpolation filter which minimizes the average power of error as compensation method and analyze the affects on the system performance of the pilot symbol pattern on the 2-D time-frequency lattice. Finally according to the CP and the Doppler frequency, we analyze the performance of 2-D PSA-16QAM for OFDM systems over frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel model.

  • Location determination of mobile user via RSSI approach has received ample attention from researchers lately. However, it remains a challenging issue due to the complexities of RSSI signal propagation characteristics, which are easily exacerbated by the mobility of user. Hence, a segmentation-based linear spline interpolation method is proposed to cater for the dynamic fluctuation pattern of radio signal in complex environment. This optimization algorithm is proposed in addition to the current radiolocation's (CC2431, Chipcon, Norway) algorithm, which runs on IEEE802.15.4 standard. The enhancement algorithm involves four phases. First phase consists of calibration model in which RSSI values at different static locations are collected and processed to obtain the mean and standard deviation value for the predefined distance. RSSI smoothing algorithm is proposed to minimize the dynamic fluctuation of radio signal received from each reference node when the user is moving. Distances are computed using the segmentation formula obtain in the first phase. In situation where RSSI value falls in more than one segment, the ambiguity of distance is solved by probability approach. The distance probability distribution function(pdf) for each distances are computed and distance with the highest pdf at a particular RSSI is the estimated distance. Finally, with the distances obtained from each reference node, an iterative trilateration algorithm is used for position estimation. Experiment results obtained position the proposed algorithm as a viable alternative for location tracking.

  • TFRC는 전송률 산출을 위해 Loss Rate와 RTT정보를 TCP-equation에 적용한다. 그러나 무선망과 같이 지연 변화가 큰 환경의 경우 RTT 값이 정확한 망상황을 표현한다고 할 수 없다. 모바일 단말의 경우 움직임에 따라 지연정보는 계속 변화하게 되며 순방향, 역방향 지연정보간의 차이도 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 지연 변화가 큰 환경에 맞는 지연정보인 One-way Delay를 사용하여 TFRC의 전송률 예측방법을 개선한다. One-way Delay 정보를 이용하여 Average Weighting을 거쳐 TCP-equation에 적용하여 전송률을 산출함으로써 정확한 Bandwidth의 예측이 가능함을 시뮬레이션을 통해 나타낸다.

  • Magnetic Sensors can be employed to localize the unmanned vehicle which is running a predefined path where magnets are embedded for certain spaces. Among various sensor types, sensor arrays of 1-dimensional magnetic sensor have the merit of easy elimination of external magnetic component such as terrestrial magnetism. However, interpolation should be considered in the array sensors in order to increase the precision level because there is a limit in arranging sensors in close interval. We propose the novel interpolation method which can be performed with simple computation and represents the improved accuracy by increasing the linearity of the interaction formula. Demonstration of the linearity and simulation results show the proposed method exhibits the improved accuracy compared to the conventional method.
