  • In this paper, we designed, constructed and evaluated the system for the FTTH suited to a residence and apartment using CWDM-PON techniques. These systems have capacity to service at 100Mbps rate to 384 users in the same breath. Also, the services include the internet, CATV, IPTV and wireless LAN. In the case of ire network, the data could be transmitted by UTP cable and optical fiber and case of wireless one, the data transmitted using WLAN. The distance between the cental office and the user is 20km and the data rate is 100Mbps maximum. Of course, the optical network used just one fiber optical core. For the basic material, we obtained the characteristics of optical transceiver module, Mux/Demux and transmission qualities depends on the environment.

  • It is important matter that inflect well allocated frequency resource in cellular network and is still more serious element in environment that provide multimedia services. This paper describes model and algorithm that increase two elements that is frequency allocation and job scheduling that consider multimedia service traffic special quality by emphasis that do mapping present in CDMA cellular system. We proposed the model cpomposed three parts (channel allocation algorithm, mapping algorithm using genetic algorithm and scheduling algorithm) and simulation results.

  • With the advances in wireless communication technologies, mobile users require to get seamless services anywhere and anytime. To relize these demands, network interworking and vertical handover are necessary between heterogeneous wireless access technologies with multi-interface mobile station. A lot of organizations are doing research on the network integration schemes based on loosely and tightly integrated architectures, and research on vertical handover schemes mainly based on Mobile IP in loosely integrated environments. But actually, the tightly integrated scheme can support more faster vertical handover because heterogeneous access networks are combined tightly. However, vertical handover schemes in tightly integrated environments are conceptually proposed without any detail signaling procedures. Therefore, this paper defines a tightly integrated architecture between UMTS and WLAN, and proposes a soft vertical handover signaling procedure. The proposed soft vertical handover scheme is evaluated by the OPNET simulator, and we confirm the proposed scheme can support seamless services.

  • Recently the mobile IPTV service has been spread through the wireless LAN(WLAN). In order to provide the commercial mobile IPTV service through the WLAN, re-authentication for the mobile IPTV terminal is required whenever the mobile terminal roams between APs(Access Points). The most popular one of the authentication protocol standards for the wired and/or wireless LAN is IEEE 802.1X. However IEEE 802.1X takes much time to authenticate the terminal and is not adequate for the seamless mobile IPTV service. We introduce the session key and separate the user authentication and the hardware authentication. And we strengthen the device authentication by the initial registration. By these, the proposed authentication protocol reduces the authentication time and can protect the authentication key securely.

A Dynamic Queue Manager for Optimizing the Resource and Performance of Mass-call based IN Services in Joint Wired and Wireless Networks (유무선 통합 망에서 대량호 지능망 서비스의 성능 및 자원 최적화를 위한 동적 큐 관리자)

  • This paper proposes enhanced designs of global service logic and information flow for the mass-call based IN service, which increase call completion rates and optimize the resource in joint wired and wireless networks. In order to hanve this logic implemented, we design a Dynamic Queue Manager(DQM) applied to the call queuing service feature in the Service Control Point(SCP). In order to apply this logic to wireless service subscribers as well as wired service subscribers, the service registration flags between the Home Location Register(HLR) and the SCP are managed to notify the DQM of the corresponding service subscribers’ mobility. Hence, we present a dynamic queue management mechanism, which dynamically manages the service group and the queue size based on M/M/c/K queueing model as the wireless subscribers roam the service groups due to their mobility characteristics. In order to determine the queue size allocated by the DQM, we simulator and analyze the relationship between the number of the subscriber’s terminals and the drop rate by considering the service increment rate. The appropriate waiting time in the queue as required is simulated according to the above relationship. Moreover, we design and implement the DQM that includes internal service logic interacting with SIBs(Service Independent building Blocks) and its data structure.

  • In this paper, we introduce a secure and minimal protocol for authenticated key distribution over the CDMA mobile communication network. The CDMA mobile communication network has been developed the security protocol that provides a means for user authentication and subsequent protection of user traffic. However, this model has no security assumptions for the intermediate, fixed networks. To avoiding these drawbacks, we introduce a minimal authenticated key distribution protocol. This protocol provides the security of the intermediate and fixed network in mobile environment, and maintains the confidentiality of user identification and the minimum size of information flow compared with the existing protocols.

  • 향후 10년 내에 전 세계적으로 인터넷 인구가 50억 명에 이르고 사물지능통신의 발달로 인해 인터넷에 접속되는 기기가 1,000억 대로 급증할 것으로 전망된다. 또한, video 콘텐츠를 비롯한 초대용량 서비스, 무선 인터넷 서비스 등이 활성화되고, 트래픽이 폭증할 것으로 예측된다. 그러나 60년대 후반에 만들어진 인터넷은 이러한 새로운 서비스의 등장 및 인터넷 트래픽의 폭증에 적절히 대응하기에는 많은 한계를 가지고 있다. 따라서 미국, EU, 일본 등 선진국들은 네트워크의 양적인 확충은 물론, 새로운 인터넷 기술을 개발하고 그 구조를 재설계하기 위해서 경쟁적으로 대대적인 투자를 전개하고 있다. 광가입자망은 이러한 급변하는 가입자망의 변화에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있는 기술로써, 인터넷 서비스 사업자와 가입자를 연결하는 중요한 네트워크이다. 본고에서는 대표적인 광가입자망 기술인 TDM-PON(Time Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network) 및 WDM-PON(Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network)의 전반적인 기술 현황, 국제 표준화 동향 및 시장 동향에 대해 소개하고, 앞으로 미래를 대비하기 위해 필요한 광가입자망의 기술개발 방향에 대해 논하고자 한다.

  • 본 고는 통신의 진화 방향인 통합(convergence)의 추세에 관하여 논한다. 통합 서비스를 위한 기본 인프라인 광대역 통합망(BcN, Broadband convergence Network)의 개념, 서비스 특징 및 발전방향 등을 기술한다. 통합은 서비스, 네트워크, 비즈니스 등의 통합으로 실현되고 있다. 광대역 통합망은 유무선 통합, 통신과 방송 융합, 음성 및 데이터의 통합을 위해 필요한 네트워크를 서비스 계층, 제어 계층, 전달망 계층, 접속 계층, 유비쿼터스 접속 및 가입자 단말 계층으로 구분한다. BcN은 사용자가 원하는 품질과 보안의 정도에 따라 차별화된 광대역 멀티미디어 서비스 제공 및 관리가 가능한 네트워크이다. 먼저, 무선 네트워크에서의 광대역 멀티미디어 서비스의 특징 및 종류, 이를 위한 광대역 통합망의 특징을 살펴보고, 향후 BcN으로의 진화 방향을 살펴본다. 그리고 향후 통신 서비스의 진화 방향인 유비쿼터스 서비스를 위해 필요한 유비쿼터스 네트워크를 전망하고, 미래의 유비쿼터스 네트워크를 위한 지능형 플랫폼, 통합 단말, USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 등 기술적 요구사항들과 진화방향을 제시한다.

  • 한정된 자원을 효율적으로 사용해야하는 이동통신망에서 멀티미디어 서비스 요구에 따른 무선 트래픽 채널을 할당하는 기법은 무선이라는 특수 환경으로 인해 제약을 받을 수밖에 없다. 이동망의 기지국의 경우 여러 무선 가입자 보드로부터 요구되는 서비스별 트래픽요구에 대한 채널 할당과 이에 대한 메인보드에서 처리해야 하는 작업 스케줄링은 무선과 CPU라는 서로 다른 환경을 잘 매핑하는 과제를 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 음성과 데이터 호를 동시에 서비스하는 셀룰러 시스템에서 멀티미디어 서비스 트래픽 특성을 고려한 주파수할당과 작업 스케줄링이라는 두 가지 요소를 접목할 때 인공지능알고리즘인 유전자알고리즘을 이용하는 방법과 이에 적합한 작업 스케줄링 방식을 제안한다.
