한국산(韓國産) 목재(木材)의 해부학적성질(解剖學的性質)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)는 일정시수원고등농림학교(日政時水原高等農林學校)(현(現) 서울대학교(大學校)의 전신(前身)) 교수(敎授)인 일본인(日本人) 산림진씨(山林進氏)에 의(依)하여 이미 수백종(數百種)이 연구보고(硏究報告)된바 있다. 그러나 현재(現在)에는 도입(導入)된 외래수종(外來樹種)이 많고 또 이들 외래수종(外來樹種)으로 부터 생산(生産)되는 국산재(國産材)가 점차(漸次) 경제적(經濟的)으로 중요성(重要性)을 가증(加增)함에 따라 이들 목재(木材)에 관(關)한 기초적(基礎的)인 성질연구(性質硏究)가 시급(時急)하다고 생각(生覺)한다. 그러므로 이 시험(試驗)에서는 한국산외래수종(韓國産外來樹種)의 목재성질(木材性質)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)의 일부분(一部分)으로 수십년전(數十年前)에 도입(導入)되어 비교적(比較的) 중요(重要)하다고 인정(認定)되는 일본원산(日本原産) 외래수종(外來樹種)의 목재(木材)에 관(關)한 현미경적성질(顯微鏡的性質)을 조사(調査)하여 보고(報告)하고져 한다. 이 시험(試驗)에서 사용(使用)된 공시재(供試材)는 경기도(京畿道) 수원(水原) 연습림(演習林)과 전라남도(全羅南道) 광양연습림(光陽演習林)에 생장(生長)하고 있는 35~48년생(年生)의 소나무, 곰솔, 일본잎갈나무, 일본젓나무, 편백, 삼나무, 및 일본목련 등 7개(個) 수종(樹種)에서 건전(健全)한 15개체(個體)가 선정시험(選定試驗)되었으며 결과(結果)는 중요(重要)한것들만 수종별(樹種別)로 종합(綜合)되었고 원문(原文)과 같이 간략(簡略)하게 기재(記載)되었다.

Compounds of isolated from roots extract of Pueraria thunbergiana were tested their inhibitory effects on $\alpha$-glucosidase and $\alpha$-amylase. Inhibitory activity of methylene chloride (MC) fraction and ethyl acetate (EA) fraction against $\alpha$-glucosidase showed more than 60% at a concentration of $500{\mu}g/m{\ell}$. Among the nine compounds tested on $\alpha$-glucosidase, biochanin A, (-)-tuberosin and calycosin from MC fraction and daidzein from EA fraction were stronger inhibitors than acarbose ($IC_{50}=530{\mu}g/m{\ell}$), and their $IC_{50}$ were 9, 144, 328 and $20{\mu}g/m{\ell}$, respectively. Biochanin A and (-)-tuberosin also inhibited $\alpha$-amylase activity as like as acarbose $IC_{50}=20.5{\mu}g/m{\ell}$), and their $IC_{50}$ were 22 and $348{\mu}g/m{\ell}$, respectively. Although daidzein was already known $\alpha$-glucosidase inhibitory effects, it was newly evaluated that biochanin A and (-)-tuberosin inhibited $\alpha$-glucosidase as well as $\alpha$-amylase, and that calycosin did $\alpha$-glucosidase.

A total of 45 scale insects belonging to 29 genera of five families were recognized on 15 kind of flowering plants on the basis of specimens collected in 2003 and specimens deposited in the Insect Collection of NIAST in Korea. Three species were recognized on Korean forsythia, four on chrysanthemum, 15 on common camellia, seven on kobus magnolia, three on rose of sharon, one on Indian lilac, six on rose, seven on rhododendrons, two on bamboo palm, three on benjamin tree, 12 on evergreen euonymus, five on Japanese yew, two on corn plant, six on orchids and two on cacti. Pulvinaria floccifera (Westwood) and Pseudaonidia paeoniae (Cockerell) on common camellia and Pulvinaria citricolar Kuwana on rose of sharon are reported for the first time from the Korean Peninsula.

This is the research about the concentration of trace Magnolia flavor components in water by pervaporation. We have investigated the change of selectivity depending on support membrane structure and active layer thickness using prepared PVDF/PDMS composite membrane. Through the pure water flux test for PVDF support membrane, we could indirectly confirm that as the coagulation temperature decreases and the polymer concentration increases, the surface porosity and pore diameter decreases. Appling these results to transport mechanism, we could explain the effect of support membrane structure for the composite membrane. The selectivity increases as the thickness of PDMS active layer increases. We could know that there is a limitation to describe the transport on the active layer by Fick's law through these results.

Recently, the mobile game market is growing due to the extension of mobile devices and internet. The mobile games are became a popular culture in society. But the existing mobile games have two simple forms. There are tow models in the mobile games. The first is as follows. The user downloads a game one time and play the game at off-line field. The second is as follows. The user play a battle game at on-line field. In the paper, we propose a new on-line "tug of war" game model which the user can play two kinds of game. They are the on-line battle mode game and the character raising mode game. Thus, this game model is different to existing mobile games and innovative model in mobile game market. This paper proposes a new research field in mobile game market with the characteristic that the user tan play two modes. One mode is the on-line tug of war battle mode and the other is the character raising mode.

Methanol extracts of 54 plant species in 32 families were tested for their antignawing activities against mice by wire-dipping method. The activity varied with plant species. Potent antignawing activity was observed in extracts from roots of Aucklandia lappa (Compositae), barks of Cinnamomum cassia (Lauraceae), fruits of Illicium verum (Magnoliaeceae), fruits of Piper nigrum (Piperaceae), rhizomes of Rheum officinale (Polygonaceae), and leaves of Pinus densiflora (Pinaceae). As naturally occurring rodent repellents, these plant-derived materials could be useful as a preventive agent against various kinds of damage caused by rodents.

Recently, the participation, opening and joint ownership of the users are important issue. The users want professional and accurate information from web. But users often suffer from retrieving accurate information. Even though the users find information they want, it is not guaranteed that the information is reliable since there are too much information placed on the web. Thus, we propose the novel rank metric to promote reliability and efficiency in information retrieval. In order to verify our approach, we implement a web site based on the proposed rank metric for nonofficial medical science information. The proposed rank metric based on user's level. This is to give score of text through differential rate depending on the user's level. The proposed rank metric enhances the reliability of text which is reflecting the user's mental factor. Thus, this method can be used for enhancing the reliability of text.

Recently, as the increase in interaction between the person and the person, the people plentifully use the business card to exchange personal information. So, the people have many business cards. Thus, the people are liable to lose the business cards and finding a wanted business card is very difficult in the huge business cards in offline. And, the people think the business card is a way, which can express individuality. So, the people want to have the business card, which has individuality. Thus, this paper proposes the card system, which is satisfied to solve many problems of the card system in offline and express individuality. The proposed business card system can produce various business cards and puts contents such as video, photo, voice into business cards via mobile devices in anywhere, anytime. Also, this business card system follows the vCard format, which is a file format standard for personal data interchange. Finally, we provide with content-based business card retrieval using video and photo inserted into business cards. Thus, this paper proposes the hybrid business card system, which is satisfied to produce business cards expressed individuality and follows the vCard format.

In ubiquitous environments, invisible devices and software are connected to one another to provide convenient services to users. In order to provide such services, we must have mobile devices that connect users and services. But such services are usually limited to those served on a single mobile device. To resolve the resource limitation problem of mobile devices, a nearby resource sharing research has been studied. Also, not only the nearby resource share but also a resource recommendation through context-based resource reasoning has been studied such as an UMO Project. The UMO Project share and manage the various context information for the personalization resource recommendation and reason based on current context information. Also, should verify resource inference rules for reliable the resource recommendation. But, to create various context information requires huge cost and time in actuality. Thus, we propose a inference verification tool called USim to resolve problem. The proposed inference verification tool provides convenient graphic user interfaces and it easily creates context information. The USim exactly verifies new inference rules through dynamic changes of context information.

Abies koreansa Wilson grows at the upper part of Mts. Halla, Chiri, Mudung, Kaji and Dokyu. It was at first collected by Father U. Faurie on the May of 1907 from the Mt. Halla, Quelpaert. Cone colour of this species varies from green to black purple and the typical colour of it is violet purple. A form of black purple was named by Hatushima in 1934. Green and reddish brown or reddish purple colours of this species were discovered recently at the Mt. Halla.
