A Study on the Naming Rules of Metadata based on Ontology (온톨로지 기반 메타데이터 명명 규칙에 관한 연구)

  • To build the consistency among different metadata systems and to increase the interoperability of that systems even among different domains, naming rules and glossaries for the data elements are necessary. This study provides discussion of naming and identification of the data element concept, data element, conceptual domain, value domain, and its meta model. This study also describes example naming conventions based on ontology derived from the combination with object, properties, and representation of data elements. The naming principles and rules described in this study use I-R analysis, DC metadata set, and SHOE 1.0 as an example of the scientific documents. This study would be a guideline to build the naming rules of metadata based on ontology in various domains.

  • Recently, construction management technology based on information technology is being changed from numerical information management to visual information management with virtual reality (VR) method. This study suggests a IDEF0 model for development process of VR system for the planning, design and construction phases of civil engineering project. And the simulation functions by each phase based on VR were developed by using the suggested IDEF0 model. The developed virtual construction system can be used as an effective design review tool by visualization of design information based on 3D object.

A Study on the Development Method of e-Learning Contents by the Level of Demand for Landscaping Practical Education - Development and Reuse of Modular Learning Objects - (조경실무 교육수요 수준별 이러닝 콘텐츠 개발 방법론 - 모듈형 학습객체 개발과 재사용을 중심으로 -)

  • Landscape Architecture is a minority manpower field that requires wide knowledge and experience. Therefore, the service market is narrower than other fields, and education service for practitioners is lacking. The purpose of this study is to propose e-learning content development methodology that can provide customized landscaping practical education according to the level of education and increase the economic efficiency of the development process. First, in theoretical review, the ADDIE model was modified to select the curriculum development model that pursues efficiency and introduced the concept of reusing learning objects in the SCORM-based model. In particular, to overcome the problems presented in the precious studies, the analysis and design stages have been strengthened and faculty designers with integrated knowledge of Landscape Architecture and ICT have led the overall phase. The actual development process is based on a step by step procedure--analysis of landscaping practitioners needs and environments, etc., teaching and learning procedures and the design of activities considering contents reuse, the first development such as actual shooting and editing, and the second development reusing the first development content--and was done in the order of evaluation and revision of professionalism and satisfaction. As a result of the study, the space-based courses composed of modular learning objects were first developed as 216 courses in 8 subjects, as 208 courses in 3 subjects in total, in which the modularized learning object are crossed and combined in units and difficulty-based courses were second developed in 216 courses with 3 subjects in total. As a result of the evaluation the satisfaction assessment of the overall satisfaction was 4.20 and the average value of the eight measures was 3.97, both being close to 4.0. For the professional assessment, the scores of 8 subjects were very high at 84.8 to 96.4 points. in context, the scores of 5 subjects were equal to from 89.9 to 96.4 points. In conclusion, as the study was conducted based on a clear understanding of the digital characteristics of e-learning contents and general characteristic of the landscaping industry, it was possible to develop a curriculum by developing a course composed of modular learning objects and reusing learning objects by unit. In particular, it has been proven to be effective in conveying professional knowledge and experiences via general procedures and provided an opportunity to overcome some analog problems that may occur in offline education. In the future, further studies need to be done by expanding the content and by focusing on segmented subjects.

  • To generate individualized and adaptive course, it's required to have the foundation structure in which learning objects are connected with each other with logical relevances. Each learner can have peculiar learning path at each point of time of learning through the logical relevancy between those learning objects and various links, considering individual learner. The purpose of this study is to design a learning object-basis individualized learning system structure, considering semantic sequencing by learning task types. It is our understanding that the individualized learning system design model of this study, considering the relevancy between learning objects, can be a fresh trial to accommodate semantic learning and true educational spirits in e-Learning at this point of time when criticism, such as the learning object based course design is simply a collection of meaningless objects, etc., is becoming influential.

Implementation of Real-time Object Tracking Algorithm based on Non-parametric Difference Picture and Kalman Filter (비모수적 차영상과 칼만 필터를 이용한 실시간 객체 추적 알고리즘의 구현)

  • This paper implemented the real-time object tracking algorithm that extracts and tracks the moving object adaptively to input frame sequence by using non-parametric image processing method and Kalman filter-based dynamic AR(2) process method. By applying non-parametric image processing to input frames, the moving object was extracted from the background adaptively to diverse environmental conditions. And the movement of object was able to be adaptively estimated and tracked by modeling the various movement of object as dynamic AR(2) process and estimating based on the Kalman filter the parameters of AR(2) process dynamically changing along time. The experiments of the implemented object tracking system showed that the proposed method tracked the moving object as more approximately as the estimation error became about l/2.5∼1/50 of one of the traditional tracking method based on linear Kalman filter.

  • The BSC methodology has recently increased its capability to apply the all of industries. However, this methodology would be inappropriate for the business innovation of public organizations. The major reason is that the profit is not the main issue for the public sector, where the financial perspectives are not clearly stated or formulated. This difference compared to profit organizations influences other perspectives such as study and growth, process. Therefore, a new approach is needed to solve these problems. The purpose of this study is to investigate a pertinent scheme for the public innovation, the method to integrate the process, and its expected effectiveness.   • The software Process can be defined as the set of activities, rules, procedures, techniques and tools used within the production of software. A software process model is a conceptual representation of a real world software Process and can be described by process programming languages. In this paper, we present the language constructs of SimFlex designed for object-based software process programming. The design of SimFlex is based on the object concept, so that it can model complex software processes concisely both in syntax and semantics. Since the language constructs of SimFlex are derived from the analysis of major PSEEs and their associated process programming languages, SimFlex includes the core characteristics required for a desirable object-based process programming language. In addition, SimFlex is designed to act as a template software process definition language which could be included in specific PSEEs through customization appropriate to those PSEEs.

  • The presnt study reviewed two contrasting models, fixed-resolution slot versus flexible-resource hypotheses, for the representational characteristics of visual working memory (VWM), and emphasized the necessary efforts for resolving their conflicting arguments. To accomplish this goal, the review explored the background hypotheses of the object-based versus parallel independent storage models, and introduced theoretical bases for their contrasting claims. The review then evaluated validity of empirical evidence provided in the studies to support each model, and attempted an understanding of their neurophysiological background. The study further emphasized the necessity of theoretical and methodological reconsiderations to resolve their conflict as well as the necessity of obtaining converging pieces of evidence to accomplish the resolution.

  • 최근 인터넷 상의 3D 게임이나 가상 세계 등의 증가로 3차원 애니메이션에 대한 필요성이 고조되고 있다. 하지만 상당한 메모리와 전송 시간 및 데이터 전송, 처리에 대한 문제가 해결돼야 한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 새롭고 효율적인 3차원 애니메이션 부호화 기술 개발이 필요하다. 현재, MPEG-4는 BIFS와 FBA에 기반하여 애니메이션 애플리케이션들의 다양한 변형들을 구현할 수 있다. BIFS는 인터폴레이터, 스크립트, 센서 노드들 같은 몇 가지 애니메이션 노드들을 지원한다. 그리고 FBA는 인간 모형에 흡사한 객체를 생성하고 움직임을 주는데 유용하게 쓰이는 애니메이션 방법이다. 이 방법들 중 본 논문은 FBA 애니메이션을 VRML 2.0을 사용하여 구현하였고, 이 FBA 객체의 구성과 특징을 관찰하여 FBA 객체의 움직임을 생성하는데 필요한 데이터들을 압축해 데이터양을 줄이는 알고리즘을 구현하였다.

  • Semantic object model has widely been recognized as an alternative data modeling approach to entity-relationship model for database system design. In this study, we have presented a semantic object model for intermediary type shopping mall consisting of multiple buyers and sellers. Essential processes and information with regard to the customer management, product management, price estimation, product order etc. have been considered for this study. Upon careful examination and analysis of them, a detailed semantic objects and attributes have been drawn and structured into semantic object diagrams. The final objects were converted into an entity-relationship diagram so that intuitive comparison could be made for relational database design. The results in this study may form a conceptual framework for both academic concerns and more complicated system applications.
