Detecting malicious behaviors in MMORPG by applying motivation theory (모티베이션 이론을 이용한 온라인 게임 내 부정행위 탐지)

  • As the online game industry has been growing rapidly, more and more malicious activities to gain economic benefits have been reported as well. Game bot is one of the biggest problems in the online game industry. So we proposed a bot detection method based on the ERG theory of motivation for the first time. Most of the previous studies focused on behavior-based detection by monitoring patterns of the specific actions. In this paper, we applied the motivation theory to analyze user behaviors on a real game dataset. The result shows that normal users in the game followed the ERG theory of motivation in the same way as it works in real world. But in the case of game bots, the theory could not be applied because the game bot has specific reasons, unlike normal game users. We applied the ERG theory to users to distinguish game bot users from normal users. We detected the game bot with high accuracy of 99.78% by applying the theory.

The Effects of Self Development Training on the Human Relationship and Intrinsic Motivation of the First-Line Nurse Managers (자기 개발 훈련이 일선 간호 관리자의 인간 관계와 내재적 모티베이션에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Self-Development training on the Human Relationship and Intrinsic Motivation for first-line nurse managers. Method: This was an empirical study on the Human Relationship and Intrinsic Motivation of Self Development Training. The researcher developed a new Self-Development Training Program, and the two-hour long training session was performed twice a week for each group. The program was performed for 4 session in two weeks. The subjects consisted with 24 nurse managers from C University Hospital in Seoul, Korea. The subjects were divided into two groups for the training. Two weeks before and 4 weeks after the training, subjects completed questionnaires that measured Human Relationship and Intrinsic Motivation. Analysis was completed by using SPSS PC 10.0 for percentile, mean, standard deviation and paired t-test. Result: The results of this study showed that Self-Development Training Program resulted in a significant effects on the Human Relationship. But the Intrinsic Motivation was not significantly affected by the program. Conclusion: This Self-Development training program had a positive effect on the Human Relationship and Intrinsic Motivation.

  • The number of companies which use Internet and Web grow at an explosive rate and most of them made use of the Web sites for business activity such as publicity, advertising, customer support, and online retailing. However, there are very few empirical studies on web sites evaluation based on theoretical framework. The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate motivational effectiveness of Web sites using the WebMAC Business instrument. In this paper, we introduced a lot of Web sites evaluation studies and several IS studies based on the motivation theory. Web sites evaluation was performed by four motivational factors which include stimulating, meaningful, organized, and easy-to-use. There are significant differences among the industry type about motivational factors. This study identifies areas for improvement of existing Web sites and suggests several guidelines for development of Web sites from the user's perspective.

  • Expert Systems (ES) have been successfully applied to bank loan decisions. However, with regard to bank loan decisions, most loan officers approach the acquisition of an ES with apprehension, which implies that organizational resources devoted to the development and implementation of ES may have been wasted or misused. Because the primary cause of the users resistance to use ES are more significantly related to the behavioral elements rather than technical elements, applying appropriate behavioral theory to the well representative sample group of the whole bank loan officers in the United States with a very accurate measurement tool can provide some clues for developing successful ES for bank loan officers. In this study : 1) Vroom's (1964) expectancy theory was selected to explain bank loan managers' motivation to use an ES ; and 2) the ANN model's prediction power to estimate bank loan officers' motivation levels of using an ES was examined.

  • Most model constructs in organization studies are descriptive in nature, and the conclusions relating to the model behavior over time are speculative. The usefulness of System Dynamics as a methodology for modeling and testing dynamic behavioral hypotheses in organizational behavioral studies is presented, and how to construct a System Dynamics model using simulation software(VENSIM) is shown, The well-know March and Simon motivation model is used to demonstrate the step by step application of System Dynamics to model of this type. The dynamic behavior of the model, both transient and steady state, is obtained, Even though the paper has focused on one model in the area of individual behavior, the approach is general and can be applied to other areas of organizational behavior as will. The usefulness of System Dynamics as a methodology for theory building is identified as well.

  • This study considered about an attitude and a role of a female banker. It is the purpose of this study to present problems and to suggest directions through empirical research because a female banker offers service directly for National welfare. The research findings are as follows : (1) A female banker They have to work with a pride and a sense of duty which they serve for society. (2) Bank's inside organization A strong leadership of a manager and a rational management of personnel system are needed. (3) A labor union It must lay stress on enlargement of welfare work and understand opinion of a union member.

  • Motivation models based on the Psychology have contributed to Predict and understand individual behaviors. During the many period, a various type of motivation models have been experimented by the researchers(i.e., need theory that is the first theory in motivation and equity theory, expectancy theory, reinforcement theory, and goal-setting theory centered on cognitive mechanisms). This article's objectives is to analyze motivation models mentioned above in the point of cognitive views (cognitive processes and cognitive mechanisms).   • Traditional human resource management explains human characteristics with motivation, attitude, perception, value, etc., based upon behavioral science approach. And system approach is adopted in analyzing the interaction between people and the environment. However, personnel economics excludes social and psychological variables in the human choice models, and assumes very unrealistic and simple rational decision making process. For environmental variables, personnel economists considers only income and price. Traditional human resource management research model successfully explains the phenomenon for each specific situation, but lacks universality. On the other hand, personnel economics model is strict and analytical, but tends to distort the understanding of the results because of the unrealistic assumptions. These two academic fields may get benefits by introducing the other's research methodologies, theories, and ideas.

These where the genius Gaussian and Shannon meet in the same coin leaf. This paper focuses on this point, and easily proves Gaussian distribution and Shannon entropy. As an application example, we have obtained the capacity and transition probability of Jeongju seminal vesicle, and the Shannon channel capacity is 1 when the equivalent transition probability is 1/2.

  • Over a decade ago, Krasnova et al. identified the factors that influence Facebook users' self-disclosure. These factors include perceived risks, relationship building, relationship maintenance, self-presentation, and enjoyment. Meanwhile, during the past 10 years, there have been significant changes in terms of function, media, and competition. SNSs have been functionally enhanced, used in mobile environment, and had many competitors. Based on these facts, it is believed that the influence of the factors on self-disclosure is different from those of Krasnova et al. The purpose of this study is to verify through a replication study whether the factors adopted in the study of Krasnova et al. are still important in explaining self-exposure. The study empirically find the result significantly different from those of Krasnova et al. Based on the result, the study provides meaningful implications and suggestions for future research.
