Tearing Test for Automotive Vibroisolating Rubber and Formulation of Tearing Energy (자동차용 방진고무의 찢김시험 및 찢김에너지 정식화)

  • A commonly analytical estimation of fatigue life on rubber components is using fatigue life equation based on various fatigue test results. However, such method has very restricted applicability in actual designing processes because performing fatigue tests requires a lot of time and money. In addition, non-standard rubber materials and their randomness make it hard to make databases. In this paper, the other fatigue life estimation method using tearing energy was suggested. We performed static and dynamic tearing test about automotive vibration rubber materials and a finite element formulation using a virtual crack to calculate the tearing energy of rubber components with complicated shapes. To using the suggested method, fatigue life of an automotive motor mount has been estimated and verified the reliability of this method by using comparison between the estimated values and the actual fatigue life.

Auto Tuning of Position Controller for Proportional Flow Control Solenoid Valve (비례유량제어밸브 위치제어기 자동조정)

  • Proportional solenoid valves are a modulating type that can control the displacement of valves continuously by means of electromagnetic forces proportional to the solenoid coil current. Because the solenoid-type modulating valves have the advantages of fast response and compact design over air-operated or motor-operated valves, they have been gaining acceptance in chemical and power plants to control the flow of fluids such as water, steam, and gas. This paper deals with the auto tuning of the position controller that can provide the proportional and integral gain automatically based on the dynamic system identification. The process characteristics of the solenoid valve are estimated with critical gain and critical period at a stability limit based on implemented relay feedback, and the controller parameters are determined by the classical Ziegler-Nichols design method. The auto-tuning algorithm was verified with experiments, and the effects of the operating point at which the relay control is activated as well as the relay amplitude were investigated.

  • This paper deals with the control and fault monitoring of a DDV hydraulic actuation system. A hydraulic servo system has a nonlinear dynamics of an orifice flow through a valve spool. A full nonlinear model for a DDV actuation system is driven, and linearized to a simple model which is convenient for a control loop and fault monitor design. A top level requirement on the performance and safety for the actuation system is introduced. A control system and fault monitoring structure which can meet these requirements are discussed. A simulation package for a DDV actuation system which has a triplex redundant structure is developed.

  • It is investigated the development of swine liquid manure spreading system for a polyethylene film (PE vinyl) based greenhouse used for planting vegetables. These types of vinylhouses are normally six to eight meters wide; the spread system must be contained and capable of operating within this area. The system we designed for use here consisted of the following parts: 1) a reel for loading the hose, 2) hydraulic motor and cylinder to generate hydraulic pressure, 3) discharge unit, and 4) a frame with a 3-point hiteh link to the tractor. With this system, there are two types of hoses that can be used, a flexible flat hose that can be mounted directly to a tractor or a solid firm round hose which usually separated from the tractor. In either case, the discharge unit remains on the tractor. It is found that by using our spread system overall efficiency was 5 times greater than spreading swine liquid manure manually.

  • 본 과제를 통하여 기술적으로는 로봇 개발에 있어 기존 기술을 최대한 활용하고 새로운 기능을 추가하는 형태로 발전해 갈 수 있도록, 각 요소별 기능을 표준화 모듈화 하여 새로운 제품의 개발이 손쉽게 이루어 질 수 있는 기본 platform으로의 역할이 가능해졌다. 구동부 제작 및 설계, 금형 비용 등을 절감하기 위한 다목적 완구로봇 플랫폼을 확보할 수 있었다. 로봇이 복잡한 환경을 인식하고, 자율적으로 작업을 수행하며, 예측하지 못한 문제에 적절한 대처를 할 수 있도록 하기 위한 핵심 기술을 제공하게 될 것으로 생각된다. 로봇 개발에 있어 전문지식이 없는 초보자들이 직접 제작 구동해 볼 수 있는 비주얼한 개발환경을 지원할 뿐만 아니라 GUI 개발환경 및 TEXT Programming 으로 상호 전환이 가능한 코딩 방법을 지원(MSRS와의 차별화를 시도하였다. 기존 하드웨어 지식과 소프트웨어지식이 없는 상태에서도 제작자의 창의력에 따라 다양한 형태의 로봇을 제작 적용이 용의 하며 초보자들에 대한 로봇개발에 흥미를 유발할 수 있도록 하였다. 고급사용자를 위한 별도의 다운로딩 포트를 제공하였다. 로봇공학의 기본지식을 습득(아날로그/디지털 회로를 이해하고, 각종 센서의 이해하며, 스템/서보/DC모터의 제어기술, 펌웨어개발능력, 기본수준의 소프트웨어개발 능력) 활용할 수 있다. 또한, 경제 및 산업적 측면으로는 다음과 같은 장점이 있다. 기존 기술들의 장점을 취합하여 추가적인 기술을 적용할 수 있는 Base형태의 로봇을 개발할 경우 이를 활용한 제품 개발 및 Base자체로도 충분한 시장을 형성 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 인터넷기반 로봇 제어 기술의 확보로 로봇시스템의 생산비용을 낮추고 TTM (Time-to-Market) 제약을 해결시켜 준다. 다른 응용 시스템에 쉽게 적용이 가능하고 지식기반 로봇 서비스의 요소기술 개발은 멀티미디어 콘텐츠분야(교육/게임/오락 등)의 활성화가 가능하기 때문에 타 IT산업에의 파급효과가 예상된다. B2B를 통한 실질적인 판매를 통한 동종기업의 연구 개발비 및 개발 기간의 단축이 예상된다.

Development and Walking Pattern Generation of Biped Humanoid Robot (이족보행 휴머노이드 로봇의 개발과 보행패턴 생성)

  • As research on the practical use of robots has continued since the past, advancements into each field of society are being continuously tried in modern society, breaking bounds from the previous experimental environment. However, in order for robots to be applied to the real environment, the production cost, which is considered to be the biggest disadvantage of commercializing the existing robot platform, and the adaptability issue in working environments in terms of human standards must be considered. This paper proposes a robot of biped walking form, which conforms to the degree of freedom and the size of human beings. By replacing the encoder with a combined module of potentiometer, the high cost of production is reduced, and by adopting a modular design that is easy to replace parts, the maintenance cost of robots is reduced. Finally, stability was verified by applying a walking pattern to two dummy robots of different sizes and motor arrangements. In this paper, after developing the real biped walking robots, the performance and usability were verified through walking experiments and applying the walking pattern using the developed robots.

Walking Aid System for Visually Impaired People by Exploiting Touch-based Interface (촉각 인터페이스를 이용한 시각장애인 보행보조 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a walking aid system that guides route to visually impaired people in order to recognize uncertain obstacles based on tactile stimulation. The proposed system is composed of the touch-based obstacle detection module, the obstacle height detection module, and the route guidance algorithms. The touch-based obstacle detection module detects each obstacle, which is located at left, right, and front of a visually impaired person by stimulating his thumb with the rotational force of the servomotor. The obstacle height detection module integrates detected data by the linear arrangement of ultrasonic sensors to identify the height of an obstacle about 3 of-phase(i.e., high, medium, low). The proposed route guidance algorithm guides an optimized path to the visually impaired person by updating his current position information based on the signal of the built-in GPS receiver in smartphone. In addition, the route guidance algorithm delivers information with speech to a visually impaired person through Bluetooth commuination in the developed route guidance app. The proposed system can create a path to avoid the obstacles by recognizing the placed situation of the obstacles with exploring the uncertain path.

  • 최근 들어, 압전 세라믹스 제조기술의 급속한 발전으로 기계, 전자뿐만 아니라 휴대용 전자기기의 초소형 적층형 압전모터 및 압전변압기 같은 고품질 압전소자의 개발에 있어 특히 소자의 소형화에 따라 나노크기의 분말제조가 연구의 주류를 이루고 있다. 현재 이러한 나노크기의 세라믹스 제조에 사용되는 방법으로는 화학적 공침법, 졸겔법, 수열반응, 그리고 고에너지 볼밀법등이 보고되고 있다. 볼밀링 공정은 세라믹제조 시 필수 불가결한 공정이나 일반적으로 미세화에 그 한계가 있어 $1{\mu}m$이하의 입자크기를 가지는 분말은 제조가 곤란한 것으로 인식되어 왔다. 그러나 고에너지 볼밀을 이용한 볼밀링은 원료의 변형, 파괴 등과 같은 원료의 물리적 변화 뿐만 아니라 원료를 구성하는 원자/분자 구조에 영향을 미쳐 원료의 화학적 특성의 변화를 유발한다. 이러한 화학적 특성의 변화는 이종 원료간의 화학 반응성을 향상시켜 밀링 중에 새로운 화학종의 생성을 유발하게 되는데 이러한 현상을 mechanochemical 효과라 한다. 이러한 mechanochemical 효과는 나노 분말 입자의 제조뿐만 아니라, 분자설계, 재료합성, 자원처리 및 리사이클링 등에도 그 적용이 시도되고 있다. 이러한 mechanochemical 효과를 이용하여 분말을 미세화 함으로써 저온 소결과 재료특성 향상을 기대해 볼 수 있다. 따라서, 이번 연구에서는 우수한 압전 특성을 가진 PMN-PNN-PZT조성을 가지고 시편을 제작하였으며, 고에너지 볼밀시간에 따라 그 압전 및 유전특성을 조사하였다.

  • As the number of tourist has been increased recently, the interest level in the carriers was elevated. Hence, the technologies on the carriers have been developed variously, and smart carriers are widely used. However, noises are occurred with multiple causes since smart carrier uses the speed control system by gradient sensor. Because of this, the possibility of wrong operation is high by abrupt operation or cumulative error. Therefore, FIR low pass filter was designed and applied in the gradient sensor to realize the strong sensing system against the noise so as to supplement the weaknesses of the existing system in this article.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce a method to predict the case thermal insulation charred and erosion thickness as a function of the exposure time to combustion gases and in solid rocket motors. The sizing of the insulator requires a good estimation of the thermal and mechanical loads at the wall. The method is particularly suitable for internal insulation areas subjected to high radiative, convective heat fluxes and $Al_2O_3$ slag pool. The mathematical approach and lab-scale experiment were intentionally simplified in order to obtain some simple and rapid relationships particularly useful for trade-off studies and thermal insulation preliminary design. The method was utilized to compute the charred and erosion thicknesses of the insulation on the aft chamber domes. A comparison between theoretical and experimental insulator char thicknesses of the motor insulation is reported, indicating the applicability of the predictive method employed.
