Interturn Fault Tolerant Driving Algorithm of IPMSMs : Maximum Torque Control within Power Loss Limit (IPM모터의 턴쇼트 고장 대응운전 알고리즘 : 전력 손실 한계 내에서 최대토크 제어)

  • The winding of the motor stator coil is broken due to external stress and various factors. If the proper current is not injected when interturn fault(ITF) occurs, the fault can easily be expanded and the motor can be finally destroyed, resulting in many problems with time costs and safety. In this paper, the power loss limit concept, which is the inherent durability of each motor, is applied to secure safety by controlling the total power loss of the motor within the limits. So, we propose an algorithm that can control maximum torque per minimum power loss based on constant torque curve and power loss limit. To verify the proposed method, the simulation and experimental results with an Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) having an ITF are shown.

A New Approach to Torque Control of Variable Reluctance Motors (Variable Reluctance 모터의 토크 제어를 위한 새로운 방식)

  • In this paper, we consider feedback-linearizing control of VR (Variable Reluctance) motors which have been increasingly used in high performance direct-drive applications. We characterize all torque controllers that can make the generated torque of a VR motor linear to torque command but without torque ripple. The torque controlles maximize the range of torque commands which are admissible under the physical limitation in stator currents. The whole class of all such torque controllers is parameterized in the explicit form which contains a function to be chosen freely. This free function can be used to achieve other control objectives as well as linear dynamic characteristics. As the examples for optimal choices of the free function, we actually determine two optimal free functions, one for minimal rate of change in current commands and the other for minimal power loss due to stator resistance. To illuminate further the practical use of torque controllers proposed in this paper, we present some experimental results for the case of a commercially available VR motor.

  • This paper presents an optimization of permanent magnet (PM) in a brushless dc (BLDC) motor using the response surface methodology (RSM). Size and angle of the PM are optimized to minimize the cogging torque, while reducing the magnitude of harmonic at a dominant frequency and maintaining the operating torque. A fitted RS model is constructed by verifying the high reliability of the total variation and the variation of estimated error. The optimized design is validated by carrying out the reanalysis and comparing to the initial model using the nonlinear transient finite element analysis.

  • In the high speed range for salient type synchronous reluctance motor, the effect of iron loss can not be negligible. We have investigated the voltage equations including iron loss from the model that is added the equivalent iron loss in the equivalent inductance in series. In this paper, we derive Ld linear approximate equation from saturation range of Ld, Lq vs applied voltage characteristics and obtain equations including saturation and iron loss related to maximum torque control using Ld. The effect of saturation and iron loss is investigated under maximum torque control. And we show that the proposed maximum torque control scheme achieves the desired performances through experimental results.

전기자동차의 구동제어기술

  • 자동차의 배출가스가 가져오는 대기오염문제로 배출하지 않는 장점이 있는 전기자동차의 도입이 계획되고 있는 한편, 세계의 자동차관련메이커들은 꾸준히 개발$\cdot$개량을 추진하고 있다. 그 기술은 착실하게 진전되어 근거리역내에서의 교통수단으로서는 실용역에 이르고 있으며 앞으로 실용화를 위한 시험이 본격화될 것으로 보인다. 삼릉전기(주)에서는 보다 고성능의 전기자동차의 실용화를 위하여 유도전동기와 선진 구동제어 기술의 연구$\cdot$개발에 진력하여 유도전동기와 선진 구동제어기술을 조합한 구동시스템을 개발하였다. 유도전동기는 고속화, 냉각의 수냉화, 스테이터절연의 고내열화, 저손실코어재의 적용 등으로 소형$\cdot$경량화를 기하였다. 컨트롤러는 인버터의 파워소자에 구동$\cdot$보호회로를 내장한 IPM(Intelligent Power Module)을 채용하고 유도모터의 고효율화와 토크제어의 고응답$\cdot$고정도화를 양립시킨 고효율$\cdot$고응답벡터제어를 적용하였다. 또한 속도센서의 생략으로 코스트저감과 신뢰성의 향상을 위한 속도센서레스제어의 적용을 검토하고 있다. 이상으로 소형$\cdot$경량$\cdot$고효율$\cdot$저코스트를 조화시킨 고성능의 전기자동차구동시스템을 실현하였다.

  • In vector control technique, stator currents of an induction motor are transformed to equivalent d-q currents in reference frame consist of d and q axis, each of which is coincide with flux and torque direction respectively. In this paper, the new algorithm is suggested where the stator current through an induction motor torque is monitored by using a vector control method where an additional equipment is not need. The G-programming is used to apply the suggested algorithm in the experiment and this is applied to an actual system to monitor the torque value of an induction motor on real time. To solve the vibration trouble of estimated torque caused from an unbalanced real rotating speed of an induction motor and measured rotating speed by suggesting the reconstructed in a method based on measurement current signal. This produced system testifies an accuracy of an induction motor through the experiment by comparing the reference value of the control method.

  • 본 논문에서는 중수로 원자력발전소에서 사용되는 핵연료 교환기 브리지의 상태를 감시하는데 필요한 진단 방법을 도출하였다. 핵연료 교환기는 고방사능 지역에서 작동하기 때문에 신호의 취득은 원격에서 비침투적으로 이뤄져야한다는 제약이 있다. 따라서 비침투적으로 원격에서 측정 가능한 신호들이 선정되었고 선정된 신호를 이용하여 정확한 진단을 위해서 필요한 여러 가지 진단 신호들의 장단점을 비교하였다. 진단 신호로는 모터의 출력 토크를 선정하였고 진단 신호의 타당성을 모형 브리지를 대상으로 수행한 실험을 통하여 검증하였다. 그리고 마지막으로 다양한 환경에서 실험을 하여 브리지의 작동 특성과 결함과 진단 신호와의 관계를 살펴보았다.

  • This paper presents the design of a lab-built powered knee prosthesis based on a BLDC motor, a sensored impedance control using a force sensor, and a sensorless impedance control through torque estimation. Firstly, we describe the structure of the lab-built powered knee prosthesis and its limitations. Secondly, we decompose the gait cycle into five stages and apply the position-based impedance control for the powered knee prosthesis. Thirdly, we perform an experiment for the torque estimation and the sensorless impedance control of the prosthesis. The experimental results show that we can use the torque estimation to control the low impedance during the swing phase, although the estimated torque data has a delay compared with the measured torque by a load cell.

  • This paper deals with the reduction of DC component of cogging toruqe by using the heat treatment of the stator core. The stator core is made of electrical steel sheared by the punching die. From the punching process, large mechanical stress at the edge of stator tooth induces significant plastic and elastic deformation and influences magnetic properties. Then, these phenomenon in the sheared region has influence on the magnetic unbalance in the air-gap of motor. This paper investigated the effect of the punching process on the magnetization process and the mechanical deformation and proposed the stress relief annealing method for the reduction of friction torque among one of motor characteristics.

  • BLDC 전동기는 일반적으로 홀센서를 이용하여 위치를 검출한다. 홀센서는 엔코더, 레졸버 대비 가격이 저렴하고, 전동기 전체 사이즈 경량화를 이룰 수 있는 장점을 통해 많이 이용된다. 그러나 열에 취약하고 설치 시 기구적 위치오차가 발생할 수 있으며 다른 위치검출기에 비해 내구성이 약한 단점을 가지고 있어 이를 대신하기 위해 센서리스 제어연구가 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 핸디형 청소기에 사용되는 BLDC 모터를 저,중,고속 영역을 나누어 센서리스 제어를 수행하였으며 각 속도영역에 따른 다른 제어 방식을 제안한다. 또한, 센서리스로 구동되는 동시에 자동 선행각 제어 알고리즘을 적용하여 토크리플을 최소화 하고자 한다.
