A Study on Precision Rectification Technique of Multi-scale Satellite Images Data for Change Detection (변화탐지를 위한 인공위성영상자료의 정밀보정에 관한 연구)

  • Because satellite images include geometry distortions according to photographing conditions and sensor property, and their spatial and radiational resolution and spectrum resolution are different, it is so difficult to make a precise results of analysis. For comparing more than two images, the precise geometric corrections should be preceded because it necessary to eliminate systematic errors due to basic sensor information difference and non-systematic errors due to topographical undulations. In this study, we did sensor modeling using satellite sensor information to make a basic map of change detection for artificial topography. We eliminated the systematic errors which can be occurred in photographing conditions using GCP and DEM data. The Kompsat EOC images relief could be reduced by precise rectification method. Classifying images which was used for change detections by city and forest zone, the accuracy of the matching results are increased by 10% and the positioning accuracies also increased. The result of change detection using basic map could be used for basic data fur GIS application and topographical renovation.

An Efficient Preprocessing System for Searching Similar Texts among Massive Document Repository (대용량 문서 집합에서 유사 문서 탐색을 위한 효과적인 전처리 시스템의 설계)

  • Since the paper plagiarism has become one of important social issues, it is necessary to develop system for measuring the similarity between papers. The speed and accuracy of the system are very important features. So many researchers are studying the features. In this paper, we propose a preprocessing method using 'Global Dictionary' model to enhance performance of the system. The global dictionary includes information of all words in the document repository. The system uses the model to find similar papers with low computing time. Finally our experiment showed that a set of more than 20,000 documents could be reduced to about 50 documents drastically by our filtering techniques, which proves the excellence of our system.

Cepstral Normalization Combined with CSFN for Noisy Speech Recognition (켑스트럼 정규화와 켑스트럼 거리기반 묵음특징정규화 방법을 이용한 잡음음성 인식)

  • The speech recognition system works well in general indoor environment. However, the recognition performance is dramatically decreased when the system is used in the real environment because of the several noises. In this paper we proposed CSFN-CMVN to improve the recognition performance of the existing CSFN(Cepstral distance based SFN). The CSFN-CMVN method is a combined method of cepstral normalization with CSFN that normalizes silence features using cepstral euclidean distance to classify speech/silence for better performance. From the test results using Aurora 2.0 DB, we could find out that our proposed CSFN-CMVN improves about 7% of more average word accuracy in all the test sets comparing with the typical silence features normalization SFN-I. We can also get improved accuracy of 6% and 5% respectively in compared tests with the conventional SFN-II and CSFN, showing the effectiveness of our proposed method.

A bias adjusted ratio-type estimator (편향 보정 비형태추정량에 관한 연구)

  • Various methods for accurate parameter estimation have been developed in a sample survey and it is also common to use a ratio estimator or the regression estimator using auxiliary information. The ratio-type estimator has been used in many recent studies and is known to improve the accuracy of estimation by adjusting the ratio estimator. However, various studies are under way to solve it since the ratio-type estimator is biased. In this study, we propose a generalized ratio-type estimator with a new parameter added to the ratio-type estimator to remove the bias. We suggested a method to apply this result to the parameter estimation under the error assumption of heteroscedasticity. Through simulation, we confirmed that the suggested generalized ratio-type estimator gives good results compared to conventional ratio-type estimators.

Synthetic Aperture Radar Target Detection Using Multi-Cell Averaging CFAR Scheme (다중 셀 평균 기반 CFAR 검출을 이용한 SAR 영상 표적 탐지 기법)

  • Since the range and Doppler resolution of the synthetic aperture radar(SAR) image becomes very high, the target detection accuracy can be significantly increased, but the computational burden is also increased. The conventional single-cell based CFAR detector performs the target detection on every single cell basis, thus it causes the serious increment of the computational load. In this paper, the improved two-step MCA-CFAR detector is proposed for the improvement of the target detection as well as the reduction of computational load: the first step is to use the MCA-CFAR, and the second step is to use the single-cell based CFAR detection in the expected target area for final decision. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with the conventional single-cell based CFAR and MCA-CFAR on SAR images.

Method to improve the Data Transfer Efficiency in the PCI 2.2 using Prefetch Request (PCI 2.2에서 프리페치 요구를 이용해서 데이터 전송 효율을 향상시키는 효과적인 방법)

  • When the PCI 2.2 bus master requests data using Memory Read command, the target device my hold PCI bus without data transfer for a long time because the target device requires time to prefetch data internally. Because the PCI bus usage efficiency and the data transfer efficiency are decreased due to this situation, the PCI specification recommends to use the Delayed Transaction mechanism to improve the performance. But the mechanism doesn't fully improve performance because the target device doesn't blow prefetch data size exactly. In this paper, we propose a new method to transfer data efficiently when the bus master reads data from the target device. The bus master informs the target device the exact read data size using prefetch request using Memory Write command. The simulation result shows that the proposed method has the higher data transfer efficiency than the Delayed Transaction about 10%.

EMQT : A Study on Enhanced M-ary Query Tree Algorithm for Sequential Tag IDs (연속적인 태그 ID들을 위한 M-ary 쿼리 트리 알고리즘의 향상에 관한 연구)

  • One of the most challenging issues in radio frequency identification (RFID) and near field communications (NFC) is to correctly and quickly recognize a number of tag IDs in the reader's field. Unlike the probabilistic anti-collision schemes, a query tree based protocol guarantees to identify all the tags, where the distribution of tag IDs is assumed to be uniform. However, in real implements, the prefix of tag ID is uniquely assigned by the EPCglobal and the remaining part is sequentially given by a company or manufacturer. In this paper, we propose an enhanced M-ary query tree protocol (EMQT), which effectively reduces unnecessary query-response cycles between similar tag IDs using m-bit arbitration and tag expectation. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the EMQT significantly outperforms other schemes in terms of identification time, identification efficiency and communications overhead.

Construction Scheme of Training Data using Automated Exploring of Boundary Categories (경계범주 자동탐색에 의한 확장된 학습체계 구성방법)

  • This paper shows a reinforced construction scheme of training data for improvement of text classification by automatic search of boundary category. The documents laid on boundary area are usually misclassified as they are including multiple topics and features. which is the main factor that we focus on. In this paper, we propose an automated exploring methodology of optimal boundary category based on previous research. We consider the boundary area among target categories to new category to be required training, which are then added to the target category sementically. In experiments, we applied our method to complex documents by intentionally making errors in training process. The experimental results show that our system has high accuracy and reliability in noisy environment.

The Development of a Speech Recognition Method Robust to Channel Distortions and Noisy Environments for an Audio Response System(ARS) (잡음환경및 채널왜곡에 강인한 ARS용 전화음성인식 방식 연구)

  • This paper proposes the methods for improving the recognition rate of theARS, especially equipped with the speech recognition capability. Telephone speech, which is the input to the ARS, is usually affected by the announcements from the system, channel noise, and channel distortion, thus directly applying the recognition algorithm developed for clean speech to the noisy telephone speech will bring the significant performance degradation. To cope with this problem, this paper proposes three methods: 1)the accurate detection of the inputting instant of the speech in order to immediately turn off the announcements from the system at that instant, 2)the effective end-point detection of the noisy telephone speech on the basis of Teager energy, and 3)the SDCN-based compensation of the channel distortion. Experiments on speaker-independent, noisy telephone speech reveal that the combination of the above three proposed methods provides great improvements on the recognition rate over the conventional method, showing about 77% in contrast to only 23%.

  • In the case of the existing train control system, the driver monitors the condition of the vehicle through a composite controller device that displays various information on a screen in the vehicle. However, when problems arise such as car trouble, it is difficult for the drivers to take action immediately. In addition, maintenance personnel have to manually save data one by one after storing the vehicle to analyze control information of the main devices such as the brake controller and auxiliary power. To improve these points, a system that sends and receives all information in real time should be established by installing a sensor communication network and a surveillance system. This study attempts to improve the safety and maintenance of rail vehicles by suggesting a standardized method for train control and surveillance system.
