The underwater channel is known to offer poor communications channel. The channel medium is highly absorptive and the transmission bandwidth is limited. In addition, the channel is highly frequency selective; the degree of selectiveness depends on a detailed geometry of the channel. Furthermore, the response changes over time as the channel conditions affecting the response such as water temperature, sea surface wind and salinity are time-varying. The transceiver design to deal with the frequency and time selective channel, therefore, becomes very challenging. It has been known that deep fading at certain specific sub-carriers are detrimental to OFDM systems. To mitigate this negative effect, the proposed coded OFDM system employs an LDPC code based modulation. In this paper, we aim 1) to provide a detailed underwater channel model; 2) to design a robust LDPC coded OFDM system; 3) to test the proposed system under a variety of channel conditions enabled by the channel model.

This paper describes the result of the pump room fire analysis of the nuclear power plant using CFAST fire modeling code developed by NIST. The sensitivity studies are performed over the input parameters of CFAST: the constrained or unconstrained fire, Lower Oxygen Limit (LOL), Radiative Fraction (RF), and the opening ratio of the fire doors. According to the results, a pump room fire is the ventilation-controlled fire, so it is adequate that the value of LOL is 10% which is also the default value. It is anlayzed that the Radiative Fraction does not affect the temperature of the upper gas layer. It is appeared that the integrity of the cable located at the upper layer is maintained except for the safety pump at the fire area and the Conditional Core Damage Probability (CCDP) is 9.25E-07. It seems that CCDP result is more realistic and less uncertain than that of Fire Hazard Analysis (FHA).

Using the commercial CFD code FLOW-$3D^{(R)}$ which has an implicit General Moving Object (GMO) method, the ship-induced wave has been simulated. In the implicit GMO method of the FLOW-$3D^{(R)}$, a rigid body's motion which is either user-prescribed (prescribed motion) or dynamically coupled to fluid flow (coupled motion) can be computed with six degrees of freedom (DOF). The simulated horizontal wave patterns are agree with the wave patterns represented by depth Froude number. The model has been well-simulated to generate the depth-dependent wave transformation in comparison of uniform depth case to complicated depth case. Additionally, it shows that ship-induced waves have been reasonably generated by two ships passing each other and by a ship moving in a curve. Therefore, it is suggested that the FLOW-$3D^{(R)}$ model calibrated with observed data should provide more accurate prediction for the ship-induced wave in a certain fairway or harbor.
The depth information of 3D image lost by projecting 3D-object to 2D-screen for earning image. If depth information is restored and is used to recognize 3D-object, we can make the more effective recognition system. We often use shape from stereo algorithm in order to restore this information. In this paper, we suggest 3-D object recognition system in which the 3-D Hough transform domain is employed to represent the 3-D objects. In this system, we use the moving vector of object to reduce matching time and In second matching step, the unknown input image is compared with the reference images, which is made with octree codes. Octree codes are used in volume-based representation of a three dimensional object. The result of simulation show that the proposed 3-D object recognition system provides satisfactory performance.
In the case of CDMA-based packet data systems such as 1xEV-DO which are designed to support high rate services, BSs transmit data packets with a maximum power based on time multiplexing mode such that only one user can be serviced at a time. In this paper, we propose a joint power allocation and scheduling algorithm for 1xEV-DO-like systems in which we adopt a code division multiplexing (CDM) transmission method in the downlink common channel in order to utilize channel orthogonality such that we can serve more than one user at a time slot especially when there exist remaining resources after serving the firstly selected user by the scheduler. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can improve the performances of conventional schemes such as the maximum rate and the proportional fair algorithms.

A multi-code biorthogonal code keying(MBCK) system consists of multiple waveform coding block, and the sum of output codewords is transmitted. Drawback of MBCK is that it requires amplifier with high linearity because its output symbol is multi-level. MBCK with constant amplitude preceding blcok(CA-MBCK) has been proposed, which guarantees sum of orthogonal codes to have constant amplitude. Redundant bits of CA-MBCK for constant amplitude coding are not only used to make constant amplitude signal but also used to improve the bit error rate(BER) performance at receiver. In this paper, we proposed a transmission scheme which combine CA-MBCK with $Q^{2}PSK$ to improve bandwidth efficiency of CA-MBCK. The BER performance of the scheme is same that of CA-MBCK in additive white gaussian noise(AWGN). And we showed that BER performance of the proposed system can be improved using redundant bits of constant amplitude preceding.

The decoding method using covering polynomials is an extended form of error-trapping decoding, and is a simple and effective means to implement decoders for cyclic codes. Covering polynomials can be used for soft-decision decoding as well as for decoding beyond the bounded distance of the code. The implementation complexity is proportional to the number of covering polynomials employed. In this paper, the soft-decision decoding procedure using covering polynomials is described, and the procedure is applied to the [23,12] Golay code. A new set of covering polynomials is derived for the procedure, which is presented as a generalized closed-form solution. The set can be efficiently utilized for decoding a class of cyclic codes including the Golay code. Computer simulation of the described procedure is performed to show the trade-offs between the decoder performance and complexity. It is demonstrated that soft-decision decoding of the Golay code using the derived set of covering polynomials has less than 0.2dB deviation from the optimal performance of maximum-likelihood decoding, with a reduced complexity when compared to the Chase Algorithm 2 combined with hard-decision decoding that has nearly identical performance.

In this paper, we consider the performance evaluation of space time block code (STBC)) with coordinate interleaved orthogonal design (CIOD) over time selective channel. In case of quasi static channel, STBC-CIOD satisfies full rate and full diversity (FRFD) property with the single symbol decoding. However in the time selective channel, the symbol interference degrades the system performance when we employ the single symbol decoding. We derive the union bound of the symbol error probability by evaluating the pairwise error probability in the first order Markov channel. We also present simulation results of STBC-CIOD with QPSK.

The TA-50 aircraft is conducting simulated training on various situations, including air-to-air and air-to-ground fire training, in preparation for air warfare. It is also used for pilot training before actual deployment. However, the TA-50 does not have the ability to operate smart weapon forces, limiting training. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to implement the TA-50 aircraft to enable virtual training of one of the smart weapons, the Point Direct Attack Munition (JDAM). First, JDAM functions implemented in FA-50 aircraft, a model similar to TA-50 aircraft, were analyzed. In addition, since functions implemented in FA-50 aircraft cannot be directly utilized by source code, algorithms were extracted using machine learning techniques(TensorFlow). The implementation of this function is expected to enable realistic training without actually having to be armed. Finally, based on the results of this study, we would like to propose ways to supplement the limitations of the research so that it can be implemented in the same way as it is.
The use of computers as part of nuclear safety systems elicits additional requirements-software verification and validation (v/v), hardware qualification-not specifically addressed in general industry fields. The computer used in nuclear power plants is a system that includes computer hardware, software, firmware, and interfaces. To develop the computer systems graded with nuclear safety class, the developing environments have to be required in advance and the developed software have to be verified and validated in accordance with nuclear code and standards. With this requirements, the test facility for Inadequate Core Cooling Monitoring System (ICCMS) as one of safety systems in the nuclear power plants was developed. The test facility consists of three(3) parts such as Input/Output (I/O) simulator, Plant Data Acqusition System (PDAS) cabinets and supervisory computer. The performance of the system was validated by manual test procedure.
