A Design of Framework based on SyncML for Synchronizing GIS Data (GIS 데이터의 동기화를 위한 SyncML 기반 프레임워크 설계)

  • Owing to rapid advancements of the mobile computing technologies and the performance of mobile device recently, the data synchronization techniques between severs and mobile clients are getting more and more important. OMA also proposes and recommends standard synchronization methods to use SyncML. However, the feasible data in the method are limited to normal document data, scheduler data, etc. This paper a standard framework based on SyncML. We call it SCGFG. The SCGFG is able to synchronize not only the above data but also GIS data which is very useful in mobile applications. It applies GML, international GIS standard, to the synchronization. By means of using XML, it is also able to resolve the serious problem that is the increase of data volume occurred by SyncML and GML. efficiently. It is highly expected to be useful in the smart synchronization of GIS data among several servers and mobile clients.

  • The GIS service has to provide latest spatio-temporal data for the effective service. The two-way synchronization scheme collects updated spatio-temporal data in the field and synchronizes with a server by using the wireless network. However, since the two-way synchronization scheme processes sequentially synchronizing work of clients, it has the problem that the synchronization of multiple clients takes long time. In this paper, we propose the concurrent synchronizations scheme based on the multi-queue in order to reduce the waiting time of multiple clients. We also build both schemes and evaulate the performance test. The results show that the proposed scheme reduce the waiting time by 31%.

  • The world largest land reclamation project in the name of Saemangeum(Ariul) from 1991 to the present has been implementing in a part of the west coast of Korea. In the Saemangeum reclamation project, the large-scale project cost is used for the landfill reclamation. A number of landfill reclamation methods have been studied in order to reduce the large-scale cost of the Saemangeum project under construction. There are many studies related to the on-site real-time monitoring with mobile systems for operating a wide range of landfill. In order to apply the work method for efficient cost-savings in the landfill operations to the Samangeum project, this paper develops a mobile management system that is composed of a mobile interface module, a data server module for data transmission and storage, and an analysis server module to analyze the input data and derive the results. The mobile system is designed by analysing user's and system requirements, functional interactions, and data flow using unified modeling language(UML). The user interface is developed for the on-site real-time monitoring through the status and related attributes of land reclamation by using the digital maps of the Samangeum coverage via mobile devices. Finally, a mobile management system would be developed that can provide a 3D GIS service based on the Dry Internal Project Site Digging Reclamation Method(DIPSDRM).

Parcel based Information System for Sediment Disaster by using Mobile GIS (모바일 GIS를 이용한 필지별 토사재해정보시스템 개발)

  • The collapses of retaining walls or embankments, the soil erosion and landslides around urban areas are occurring by heavy rainfalls because of the recent climate change. This study conducts the soil erosion modeling, while applying the spatial information such as soil maps, DEM and landcover maps to the RUSLE model. Especially this study draws up the soil erosion grade map and the unit soil erosion grade map by parcels through coupling the soil erosion with the cadastral map, and by that can calculate the number of parcels by soil erosion grades. Also the sediment disaster information system based on the mobile GIS is developed to identify the soil erosion grades of site in the urban plannings and the construction fields. The sediment disaster information system can identify the present conditions of the registers of lands, buildings and roads, and confirm the RUSLE factors, the soil erosion, the sediment disaster grades by parcels. Also it is anticipated that this system can support the sediment disaster work of site effectively through searching the locations and attributes of the specific parcels by Administrative Dong and the soil erosion grades.

  • According to the increasing use of information in the mobile web environment, web information techniques previously developed considering only a specific platform become unable to use. Such techniques need to be replaced by the web standard techniques guaranteeing interoperability and to develop a new graphic user interface required in the mobile web environment. Based on such backgrounds, this paper surveyed the standards for implementing web geographic information system(GIS) service considering mobile and desktop environments. Based on the survey results, a GIS system configured with open source is designed and web mapping clients based on ExtJs are implemented for mobile and desktop environments. For the purpose of coping with the new web standard environment, the methods and prototype system suggested and implemented in the paper can be used as a case study to implement a GIS in the use of mobile and desktop environments.

  • For map services in the mobile environment, it should be considered that resource restriction of the mobile device. Thus, if a map database dedicated to mobile services may not be developed, the spatial data extracted from general map databases should be simplified before transmitting. This paper suggests the mechanism to simplify and modify the spatial data, which are changed to be able to displayed on the mobile devices. This mechanism is based on the map generalization operations and is refined to adapt on mobile phone environment.

  • Recently, as a part of NGIS project, cultural-assets digital map is produced by cultural properties administration and local autonomous entities. Cultural-assets unified GIS(Geographic Information System) is essential to cultural properties managers and other organizations which are executing land related business for appling it at planning stage. With explosive national land developments, it has been obligated to implement surface survey by the cultural properties protection Art. In this paper, we develope a MSSS(Mobile Surface Survey System) and central GIS management system using CDMA wireless network, real time DGPS and C/S GIS technologies. And we suggest a construction-plan of cultural-assets digital map drawing and managing system by Archaeologist using developed system by this study.

  • 최근 공간정보에 대한 수요가 급증하고, 짧은 갱신주기를 요구하는 경우가 증가함에 따라 상업적인 목적으로 모바일매핑시스템이 자체개발 과정을 거쳐 실용화 서비스를 적용하고 있는 추세이다. 해외에서는 공공 및 민간부문으로 나뉘어 활발히 개발 및 운용되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 모바일매핑시스템의 국내 외 동향 분석과 도로 및 주변 시설물의 파손과 변화에 따른 도로시설물모니터링에 모바일매핑시스템의 활용성을 분석하였다.
