A Technique of Applying Ontology for Service Customization of Android (안드로이드 서비스 커스터마이제이션을 위한 온톨로지 적용 기법)

  • Desktop-based computing environment is changed into mobile computing using smart phone and cloud computing providing common behavior and big data by network. Because of this transformation software development and operating environment is changed into heterogeneous distributed environment. As a result, dynamic service composition or changement is required. However, there is few research of techniques supporting service composition or changement dynamically in this situation. This paper suggests a technique for customizing services dynamically of mobile applications based on android platform. Especially we propose a customization technique of service by applying ontology technique to improve sharing and reuse of service. We applied proposed technique into meeting notification system, and obtain that it can be customized into various services such as email, sms, twitter service, and so on.

  • Mobile communication technology in the field of ubiquitous computing is one of important technologies. The development of GPS technology in mobile communications technology and PDA, the vast majority of mobile devices such as smart phones also being equipped with GPS functionality. This user where they are located where they are based on the number of through services were able to receive information. In this paper, mounted on a mobile device user's location using GPS capabilities to track the migration routes and the accumulated user to determine the migratory path of the system used to recommend the proposed route of the proposed method and system Designs. The services offered by tracking the location of the user to move the user to route data to create and upload to the server. Upload a migration path to move data from where they currently reside to the user is recommended to go to your destination. The services offered by the users do not know where to travel or go to your destination, etc. If you do not remember the path can be useful.

  • The mobile user interface becomes important to access information fast and conveniently, especially in the ubiquitous computing environment. Among many new services in the mobile computing environment, ubiquitous information networking service was studied using korean alphabet (consonant or vowel) domain-names including Korean single-character domain-names. Instead of handling long English/Korean URL-strings, as convenient user interface for information access, the Korean single-character/alphabet domain names are more convenient than long URL strings to retrieve information and to send information in the wired Internet as well as in the mobile Internet. We studied the convenience of Korean alphabet domain names with PCs as well as with mobile phones. We introduce the Implementation and the application of ubiquitous information portal, which has the functionality of Text to Speech (TTS) and is accessible with Korean single - character/alphabet domain - names.

  • In the past, the way of sharing data in various devices was to use a physical method such as USBs. The radical development of communications technology and the users, who possess various multimedia devices, caused the need for the new way that people could share their data in various devices, and providing various digital resources by using the cloud computing service helps people solve the limit to sharing the resources in their PC. Therefore, this paper is to suggest the technology for synchronization of mobile devices, and the user-centered cloud service is applied to the technology. Having conducted the experiment, it has been discovered that applying the synchronization of mobile devices using the cloud service enabled to conduct the auto file synchronization and to minimize the bandwidth consumed during the synchronization process between two devices.

  • This paper implements mobile Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) receiver using Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology. SDR system is difficult to implement on the mobile handset because of restrictions that are computing power and under space constraints. The implemented receiver processes mobile WiMAX software modem on Open Multimedia Application Platform (OMAP) System on Chip (SoC) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). OMAP SoC is composed of ARM processor and Digital Signal Processor (DSP). ARM processor supports Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) instruction which could operate on a vector of data with a single instruction and DSP is powerful image and video accelerators. For this reason, we suggest the possibility of SDR technology in the mobile handset. In order to verify the performance of the mobile WiMAX receiver, we measure the software modem runtime respectively. The experimental results show that the proposed receiver is able to do real-time signal processing.

  • Mobile devices are utilized not only for communications but also for running applications, However, applications with high complexity could not be deployed on mobile devices which have inherent resource limitation. While Model-View-Control(MVC) is commonly used in designing applications, it does not address mobile device specific characteristics. In this paper, we propose effective mobile application architectures which extend the conventional MVC architecture, to develop mobile application with high performance while remedying their resource constraints.

  • The recent development of mobile devices, including smartphones has maximized the user's convenience. This phenomenon has triggered the specification and activation of mobile cloud service and transformed the user's information usage and communication means. Despite such development of new technology, there is little understanding of mobile cloud. Therefor, in order to help the understanding of the usage of mobile cloud computing technology, this study developed the research model based on the UTAUT (the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology) model. The proposed research model included five external determinants, such as Interoperability, Information Organization, Adequacy, Information Security and Context Awareness, along with the moderating effects of Job Relevance, and empirically proved their influence on the user's job performance. This study proved the research model by analyzing the data collected from 287 copies of survey with the structural equation modeling approach. The result showed that all determinants, except Information Security have positive impact on the usage of mobile cloud computing technology. Thus, this study can compliment the limitations of previous research, suggest a new direction to analyze the user's perspective in the related research on mobile cloud and build a theoretical foundation for the further development of mobile cloud.

  • The mobile computing has been a main mean of computing, because of recent development of smartphone and mobile communication network. The new service technologies, such as cloud computing, big data, SDN (Software Defined Network), and NFV (Network Function Virtualization), are appearing due to activating of the data center. These changes have brought various requirements for transport layer protocol. In addition, the transport protocol should have a extensible function to adapt additional technologies. This paper proposed that transport layer divide into three layer structure for extensible function, and designed the ETP(Extensible Transport Protocol) which is located in the bottom layer.

  • In these days mobile handsets have come to be used at almost every user. The mobility of mobile devices and the performance improvement of the mobile networks have made this trend possible. As a great variety of mobile applications are published, the necessity of running large-scale mobile applications becomes greater than before. To accomplish this, the existing researchers have developed mobile cluster computing libraries like Mobile-JPVM. In this paper, we implement a compute-intensive Animated GIF generating application and its cell phone viewer software using Mobile-JPVM library. We find out by the real execution of our softwares on the KTF handsets that they can sufficiently run on cellular phones. Our Animated GIF generator and its viewer are going to be commercially used for the mobile fashion advertisement systems.

  • In this paper, a building disaster notification system with MEC (Mobile Edge Computing) technology is proposed, which informs people in a building about the disaster. The overview of MEC is presented, and the structure and characteristics of network using MEC are described. In addition, the characteristics of a enterprise integration pattern based Apache Camel is described, and how to implement MEC with Apache Camel is presented. Finally, an implementation method of building disaster notification system with Apache Camel based MEC is proposed to quickly recognize disasters through sensors and to rapidly evacuate people from buildings.
