A Study on the Effect of Characteristics and Interactions of MSNG on User Satisfaction (MSNG의 특성과 상호작용이 사용자만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • On top of presenting the possibility of expanding the game space to social space through mobile communication, MSNG reinforces the strengths of SNS and the fun of games through closer networks between users. This study empirically verified the effects of the characteristics of MSNG on interactions and user satisfaction by dividing the main characteristics of MSNG into graphics, challenge spirit, and reward, and then dividing the main characteristics of mobile social network service into social interaction and technical interaction. In the results of study, the main characteristics of MSNG such as graphics, challenge spirit, and reward all had significant effects on the social interaction and technical interaction while the social interaction and technical interaction of MSNG also had significant effects on the user satisfaction, so that the hypotheses of this study were all selected. The influence of the characteristics of MSNG on interactions might be because of shared feedbacks through graphics, game tasks, and reward in the performance process of MSNG, and such interactions make diverse people have the horizontal or circular communication, which is led to the increase of user satisfaction.

Preliminary Performance Testing of Geo-spatial Image Parallel Processing in the Mobile Cloud Computing Service (모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스를 위한 위성영상 병렬 정보처리 성능 예비실험)

  • Cloud computing services are known that they have many advantages from the point of view in economic saving, scalability, security, sharing and accessibility. So their applications are extending from simple office systems to the expert system for scientific computing. However, research or computing technology development in the geo-spatial fields including remote sensing applications are the beginning stage. In this work, the previously implemented smartphone app for image processing was first migrated to mobile cloud computing linked to Amazon web services. As well, parallel programming was applied for improving operation performance. Industrial needs and technology development cases in terms of mobile cloud computing services are being increased. Thus, a performance testing on a satellite image processing module was carried out as the main purpose of this study. Types of implementation or services for mobile cloud varies. As the result of this testing study in a given condition, the performance of cloud computing server was higher than that of the single server without cloud service. This work is a preliminary case study for the further linkage approach for mobile cloud and satellite image processing.

Improved First-Phoneme Searches Using an Extended Burrows-Wheeler Transform (확장된 버로우즈-휠러 변환을 이용한 개선된 한글 초성 탐색)

  • First phoneme queries are important functionalities that provide an improvement in the usability of interfaces that produce errors frequently due to their restricted input environment, such as in navigators and mobile devices. In this paper, we propose a time-space efficient data structure for Korean first phoneme queries that disassembles Korean strings in a phoneme-wise manner, rearranges them into circular strings, and finally, indexes them using the extended Burrows-Wheeler Transform. We also demonstrate that our proposed method can process more types of query using less space than previous methods. We also show it can improve the search time when the query length is shorter and the proportion of first phonemes is higher.

  • IPv6 is the internet protocol for next generation which can solve the problem of IPv4 protocol. Mobile IPv6 efficiently provides the mobility for mobile devices holding the properties of IPv6. iSCSI(Internet Small Computer System Interface) is a block-oriented storage access protocol that enables a user to recognize a remote storage as their own local block device through general TCP/IP networks. Since iSCSI uses a standard Ethernet switch and router for this kind of access, it can not only be applized to Ethernet technologies, but can also be used to create a storage networking system without any distance restrictions that can equally be applied to a wireless network environment. Accordingly, this paper presents an alternative approach to overcome the limited storage space of mobile devices based on the IPv6 iSCSI initiator driver which was originally designed for wired networks. Also, this paper describes about the implementation and performance analysis of mobile education service system using virtual storage devices in IPv6 wireless networks.

  • The environment of Internet of Things (IoT) wherein various devices are connected through the Internet with value-added network functions, is currently a subject of active study. Accordingly, the existing computing environment based on desktop or mobile systems is being expanded into a computing environment of more diverse devices. Because the response of program launching is important in terms of User Experience (UX) in IoT environments, the technology for guaranteeing rapid response of program launching in IoT devices is getting the focus of much current research. In this paper we analyze the Zygote technique, which is being used for faster program execution in Android systems, and, based on our results, we propose an address space maintaining scheme for the rapid launching of programs for use in Linux-based systems. Our scheme utilizes the Copy on Write (CoW) technique in Linux systems as well as the Zygote technique of Android systems. In order to evaluate the proposed scheme, we implemented our scheme on Linux systems and performed several experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme shortens the launching time up to 99%, compared to the existing technique.

  • 최근 모바일 장비 및 시스템의 발달로 위치정보와 이동 객체에 관련된 많은 서비스들이 연구되고 있다. 궤적은 이동 객체가 시간에 따라 변하는 위치정보들의 모음이다. 기존의 데이터베이스 시스템에서는 이동 객체 데이터 타입을 지원하지 않는다. 이 논문에서는 공간 데이터베이스로 많이 활용되고 있는 PostgreSQL/PostGIS 상에서 궤적 데이터의 연산 및 질의 처리가 가능한 확장형 모듈로써 PostTrajectory를 제안하고 있다. 또한, 궤적 데이터에 대한 다양한 질의 요구 조건들을 충족시킬 수 있는 함수들을 구현하여 궤적 데이터의 효율적인 질의 처리를 가능하게 하였다.

  • 최근 모바일 장치의 발전으로 인하여 이동 객체의 위치를 기반으로 하는 위치 기반 서비스(LBS:Location Based Service)가 발전되고 있다. 위치 기반 서비스에서는 이동객체의 위치 정보가 시간의 흐름에 따라 그 변화량이 방대하게 증가되기 때문에 대용량 데이터를 관리하기 위한 데이터베이스의 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 기존의 데이터베이스 시스템은 하나의 서버가 모든 처리를 담당하므로 동시 사용자 수가 제한되고, 사용자의 수가 증가할수록 성능이 저하된다. 특히, 사용자 질의의 급증에 대해 유연하게 대처하지 못해 시스템이 정지하여 서비스를 제공하지 못하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 대량의 데이터를 관리하고, 사용자 질의가 급증하여도 서비스가 계속되는 GMS/Cluster를 제안한다. 제안한 GMS/Cluster는 비공유 데이터베이스 클러스터로 독립적으로 질의를 처리할 수 있는 노드와 노드들의 묶음인 그룹으로 구성된다. GMS/Cluster는 분할 정책의 사용으로 대량의 데이터를 효율적으로 관리하여 성능이 향상되고, 복제 정책의 사용으로 서비스를 하던 노드가 정지되어도 복제본을 가진 노드가 대신 서비스를 하여 가용성이 높아지며, 서비스를 중지하지 않고 실시간으로 온라인 확장을 하여 급증하거나 접근 패턴이 변경하는 사용자 질의에 대처할 수 있다.

  • 본 연구는 화재 재난 발생 시 시야가 확보되지 않는 환경에서 대피할 수 있도록 비상구를 모바일 AR(Augmented Reality 이하 증강현실) 기반의 스마트폰 어플리케이션의 안내를 통해 대피할 수 있는 실용적 기술 적용에 관한 연구이다. 특히 실내 LBS(Location-Based Service)를 위한 기술을 위해 Beacon(이하 비콘)기술과의 적용 연구를 통해서 특정한 공간과 건물 내에서 화재 발생 시 활용할 수 있도록 구체적이고 실용적으로 설계와 제안되었다. 향후 실제 화재가 발생하였을 때 사용할 수 있는 증강현실 및 LBS 기술로써의 활용과 확장을 기대할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 국내 게임 시장 규모가 20조원에 육박할 것으로 전망된 가운데, 내년 게임업계 화두로 메타버스와 NFT가 가장 주요한 이슈가 될 것이다. 메타버스 환경에서의 변화는 편의성, 상호작용 방식, 화면 공간 확장성 측면에서 기존 PC, 모바일 기반의 인터넷 시대와 메타버스 시대는 확실하게 차이가 존재한다. 기존에 비해 혁신적인 변화의 특징들에 대해서 메타버스 환경에서 게임들의 특징들도 무관하지 않을 것으로 생각한다. 본 논문에서는 메타버스 플랫폼에서의 게임개발이 활성화되는 환경에서 메타버스 기반에서 개발되고 플레이 되는 게임들에 대한 품질 보증(Quality Assurance : QA) 혹은 테스트를 위한 방법과 내용에 대해서 기존의 방법들과의 차이점과 향후 메타버스 환경에서의 게임 품질을 측정하는 새로운 요소들에 대해서 제시하고자 한다.

  • Mobile cloud computing (MCC) is not just extensions of cloud concepts into mobile environments, but the service technologies that all mobile devices including smartphone can use the desired services by using cloud technology without the constraints of time and space. Currently, a lot of works on mobile cloud computing have been actively researching, whereas user interfaces are not so much researched. The main features and contributions of this paper are as follows. First, develop UI considering UX that is different from conventional interfaces supported by SPICE. Second, combine two button interface into one button interface when keyboard is used in mobile cloud computing clients. Third, develop a mouse interface suitable for mobile cloud computing clients. Fourth, in mobile cloud computing client, solve a problem that the selection of button/files/folder has at the corner. Finally, in mobile cloud computing clients we change mouse scroll mapping functions from volume button to scroll interface in touch-screen. The results of performance evaluation shows that users can input easily with the increased and fixed mouse interface. Since shortcut keys instead of the complex button keys of keyboard are provided, the input with 3-6 steps is reduced into 1 step, which can simply support complex keys and mouse input for users.
