Hardware Implementation of Rasterizer with SIMD Architecture Applicable to Mobile 3D Graphics System (모바일 3차원 그래픽스 시스템에 적용 가능한 SIMD 구조를 갖는 래스터라이저의 하드웨어 구현)

  • In this paper, we describe research results of developing hardware rasterizer that is applicable to mobile 3D graphics system, designed in SIMD architecture and verified in FPGA. Tile-based scan conversion unit is designed like SIMD architecture running four tiles simultaneously and each tile traverses pixels hierarchical in 3-level so that visiting counts is minimized. As experimental results, $8{\times}8$ is the most efficient size of tile and the last step of tile traversing is performed on $2{\times}2$ sized subtile. The rasterizer supports flat shading and gouraud shading and texture mapper supports affine mapping and perspective corrected mapping. Also, texture mapper supports point sampling mode and bilinear interpolating sampling mode and two types of wrapping modes and various blending modes. The rasterzer operates as 120Mhz on xilinx vertex4 $l{\times}100$ device. To easy verification, texture memory and frame buffer are generated as block rom and block ram.

  • In this paper, we propose a social-based collaboration systems for business process management in the mobile cloud. This XMDR-DAI is to provide services for data sharing and exchange between local systems that operate independently in a cloud environment, take charge of a social-based collaborative business process management. Social-based collaborative business processes are handled in a collision among a structure such as unit conversion, meaning conflict, and the schema mapping data resulting from the inner query. The conflict was resolved by mapping process which takes in each XMDR-DAI.

  • Road signs are part of the traffic facilities intended to guide drivers to their destinations in a safe and comfortable manner. Due to the creation of new routes, changes to the old routes, and the deterioration of road signs, road signs do require efforts to do ongoing field investigations and put the results in a database. The purpose of this study was to propose methodologies to do field investigations and build a database for road signs efficiently. For that purpose, a mobile mapping system was designed for field investigations. The designed mobile mapping system was comprised of three cameras to produce image information about road signs, GPS/IMU/DMI to obtain information about the position and attitude of a vehicle, and a laser scanner to generate information about the locations of road signs and routes. Also proposed in the study was a procedure to automatically detect the areas of road signs in the road signs images and recognize their characters.

  • 무선통신의 발달에 따라 모바일 장비 기반의 이동성을 고려한 서비스에 관한 연구가 활발하다. 모바일 장비는 제한된 화면크기, 부족한 리소스 등의 한계와 함께 사용자의 이동 중에 발생하는 이벤트를 처리해야 한다는 문제가 있기 때문에, 사용자에게 친숙한 인터페이스와 개별화된 추천 서비스가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 선호도를 반영한 베이지안 네트워크를 이용하여 모바일 장비에서 개인화된 추천 시스템을 개발한다. 실시간으로 변화하는 환경에 적응하도록 네트워크를 설계하기 위하여 전문가에 의해 구조를 설계하고, 수집된 사용자 로그를 바탕으로 파라메터를 학습하여 베이지안 네트워크 모델을 생성한 후, 학습된 모델 기반의 추론결과를 실제 컨텐츠와 비교하여 시스템에 매핑시킴으로써 사용자에게 추천한다. 실제 신촌지역 음식점 추천을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 그 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • When extracting geo-referenced 3D data from cameras mounted on Mobile Mapping Systems, one of important properties for accuracy of extracted data is the alignment of the relative translation(lever-arm) and rotation(bore-sight) between the coordinate systems of Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU)/Ground Positioning System(GPS) and cameras. Since the conventional method calculates absolute camera orientation using ground control points (GCP), the alignment is determined in one Coordinated System (GPS Coordinated System). It basically require GCP. We proposed a mathematical model for the alignment using the initially uncoupled data of cameras and IMU/GPS without GCPs.

  • 모바일 융합 서비스를 개발하기 위해 단순 컴포넌트의 조립(integration)이나 합병(merge)과 융합 서비스를 식별하는 기존의 개념만으로 부족하다. 비즈니스 서비스 모델에 적합한 비즈니스 기능을 가진 융합 서비스를 지원하는 응용 시스템 개발을 위해 비즈니스 서비스 모델에서부터 서비스 모델로의 매핑과 다양한 자산(assets)정보가 필요하며 이들을 설계 단계에서 구현 단계를 지원하는 적절한 프레임 워크가 절대적으로 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 집약적인 신기술을 도입하여 시장 전략과 융합 모바일 도메인에 적합한 소프트웨어 개발 도구 및 환경 지원을 위한 모바일 융합 서비스 기반 공통 프레임워크(SOCF:Service Oriented Common Frameworks)를 연구하며 실생활의 모바일 서비스가 제공자와 고객 간에 재사용 단위의 추상화 수준을 단순 컴포넌트를 넘어 서비스 제공과 사용사이(provide/consume)의 서비스 수준까지 확대하여 다양한 서비스 자원들을 통합하고 재사용하여 서비스 융합 시스템 개발을 지원하는 프레임워크 설계 및 구현에 관한 내용을 서술한다.

  • The perforrnance and portability of mobile applications can be greatly increased by adopting proxy modiles which exists between the conventional system and the device. When mobile devices collaborate with the conventional computers, there are problems to address: a battery life problem, limited input and output methods, and intermittent wireless connection. Those issues are magnified in the multimedia collaboration environment since it works in a real-time condition and the size of the message in the system is big in many cases. Additionally, because multimedia collaboration system softwares are too heavy and complex for mobile devices, it is veη hard to integrate them with conventional systems. In this paper, we describe our design and its implementation of a novel approach to map events (i.e. messages) using a proxy for mobile applications. We adopt a proxy to provide a content adaptation (i.e. transcoding) where the message contents are customized. Also, we design a mobile version publish/subscribe system to provide communication service for mobile device in loosely coupled and flexible manner. We present our empirical results which show that our design can be efficiently implemented and integrated with a conventional multimedia collaboration system.

Determination of 3D Object Coordinates from Overlapping Omni-directional Images Acquired by a Mobile Mapping System (모바일매핑시스템으로 취득한 중첩 전방위 영상으로부터 3차원 객체좌표의 결정)

  • This research aims to develop a method to determine the 3D coordinates of an object point from overlapping omni-directional images acquired by a ground mobile mapping system and assess their accuracies. In the proposed method, we first define an individual coordinate system on each sensor and the object space and determine the geometric relationships between the systems. Based on these systems and their relationships, we derive a straight line of the corresponding object point candidates for a point of an omni-directional image, and determine the 3D coordinates of the object point by intersecting a pair of straight lines derived from a pair of matched points. We have compared the object coordinates determined through the proposed method with those measured by GPS and a total station for the accuracy assessment and analysis. According to the experimental results, with the appropriate length of baseline and mutual positions between cameras and objects, we can determine the relative coordinates of the object point with the accuracy of several centimeters. The accuracy of the absolute coordinates is ranged from several centimeters to 1 m due to systematic errors. In the future, we plan to improve the accuracy of absolute coordinates by determining more precisely the relationship between the camera and GPS/INS coordinates and performing the calibration of the omni-directional camera

  • The purpose of this study is that the low-cost mobile mapping system using INS (Inertial Navigation System) based on MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) could decipher the interpretation of road facility with the accuracy of x, y 0.546m plane error. Even though the MMS (Mobile Mapping System) technology as a new measurement technology has been used vividly to set up geographic information by some world leading surveying equipment manufacturers, the domestic technology is still in its beginning stage. Several domestic institutes and companies tried to catch up the leading technology but they just produced prototypes which needs more stabilization. Through this thesis, we developed low-cost mobile mapping system installed with INS based on MEMS after time synchronizing sensors for MMS such as LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging), CCD (Charge Coupled Device), GPS/INS (Global Positioning System / Inertial Navigation System) and DMI (Distance Measurement Instrument).

  • 본 연구에서 3차원 지형공간정보의 구축 및 처리, 가시화를 위하여 개인용 PC와 임베디드 단말기의 포켓 PC환경에서 자료 호환 및 동시 운영이 가능한 실시간 3차원 GIS의 Prototype의 설계 및 구현과 적용 실험을 하고자 한다 OpenGL(Open Graphic Library)과 OpenGL|ES (Embedded System)를 활용하여 도시경관을 구성하는 주요객체인 지형, 건물, 교통, 식생 등을 통합적으로 저작 및 3D 객체 모델링 및 렌더링이 통합 및 개별 운영 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 구현 단계에서 개인용 PC 운영환경에서는 기능성 향상에 중점을 두어 공간 데이터베이스 설계, 텍스처 영상 매핑처리, 대용량의 3차원 공간정보 처리 및 관리, 가시화, 렌더링, 모델링 기능들을 제공하며, PDA 휴대용 단말운영환경을 지원하는 모바일 시스템에서는 실시간 모바일 저작기능과 렌더링 기능에 주안점을 두어 개발하였다. 한편 연구 결과로 구현된 시스템은 원도우 XP 기반의 개인용 PC와 PDA 단말기 상에서 3D 객체 자료구조가 호환되어 향후 다양한 응용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.
