Decomposition of Shear Resistance Components in Reinforced Concrete Beams (철근콘크리트 보의 전단저항 성분 분해)

  • The objective of the present study is to verify the validity of a new truss model for evaluating the contribution by arch action to shear resistance in shear-critical reinforced concrete beams. The new truss model is based on the relationship between shear and bending moment in a beam subjected to combined shear and bending. The compatibility condition of the shear deformation that deviates from Bernoulli bending plane is formulated utilizing the smeared truss idealization with an inclined compression chord. The Modified Compression Filed Theory is employed to calculate the shear deformation of the web, and the relative axial displacements of the compression and the tension chord by the shear flow are also calculated. From this shear compatibility condition in a beam, the shear contribution by the arch action is numerically decoupled. Then the validity of the model is examined by applying the model to some selected test beams in literatures. On the basis of the analytical results, the contribution by the web to shear resistance can be constant and have an excellent linear correlation with the web reinforcement ratio. The present decoupling approach may provide a simple way for the assessment of the role of each parameter or mechanism that affects the ultimate shear behavior of reinforced concrete beams.

Characteristics of Beam-tilting Slot Array Waveguide Antennas for DBS Reception (DBS 수신용 빔 틸트형 슬롯 어레이 도파관 안테나의 특성)

  • This paper describes the characteristics of beam-tilting slot away waveguide antennas for mobile DBS reception. As a basic study of slotted waveguide array, design for 16 slot elements located on a broad-wall waveguide is considered. Design parameters such as slot length, space between each slot and cross slot angle of antennas with the beam-tilting characteristics are calculated by method of moments. Based on these results, the radiation waveguide antennas with 16-element $\times$16-array are designed and fabricated. The measured main beam direction angles of the fabricated antennas are 48$^{\circ}$to 50$^{\circ}$depending on the measured frequencies and it shows good agreement with prediction. The measured 3 dB beam width of elevation pattern is about 13$^{\circ}$, and the axial ratio and the gain measured at DBS band are observed 2.8 dB below and 24 dBi above, respectively. In order to evaluate a performance of the fabricated waveguide planar antenna, it is combined with the satellite tracking control system and the field performance test of antenna mounted on a mobile vehicle is carried out at highway. During the measurement, it was possible to watch television without a break signal in a driving vehicle and an excellent performance of the proposed antennas was demonstrated.

  • 미래 정보와 시대에서 중추적인 역할을 할 광관련 멀티미디어 장비들은 최근 관련 산업계에서 주목을 받기 시작하고 있고 특히 기존 VTR(Video Tape Recorder) 시장을 대체할 차세대 DVDR(Digital Video Disk Recorder)는 기술전쟁이라고 할 정도로 선진 기업의 연구가 치열해지고 있다. DVDR 시스템에서는 필요한 정보들을 레이저빔을 이용한 광학신호로 바꾸어 광디스크에 기록, 재생하는 광픽업이 절대적으로 필요하게 된다. 그런데 광픽업의 위치추종기구인 Actuator는 정확한 위치추종(.+-.1.$\mu$m 오차이내)을 할 수 있는 성능이 요구되며 서보의 특성상 20KHz 이하에서 불필요한 모우드가 가진되지 않는 정밀부품이어야 하므로 Actuator 각 부품의 동적인 특성을 명확히 규명할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우선 Actuator 각 부품과 가동부 전체의 중량 및 진동해석을 통해 동특성을 조사하였다. 그리고 Actuator의 중요한 기본성능중 하나인 구동감도 확보여부를 검토할 필요가 있기 때문에 유한요소법 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 자기회로 부분에 대한 해석을 구하였다. 또한 가동부와 자기회로 등 하위부품을 조립하는 과정에서 발생하는 조립오차로 인해 불필요한 공진과 회전형상이 야기될 수 있으므로 동특성 및 문제점 파악을 위한 민감도 분석이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가동부의 관성 모멘트 값과 강체에 대한 일반식을 이용한 자체 프로그램을 작성하여 조립공차를 구하였다. 이와같은 과정을 통해 구해진 설계값을 바탕으로 실제 제작된 Actuator에 대해서는 비접촉식 측정방법을 통해 동특성값을 측정하였고 이를 해석값과 상호 비교하였다.동강성행렬법(dynamic stiffness matrix method)을 이용하여 해석하고자 한다. 수준임이 입증되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로우리나라 젊고 건강한 남성에게 적합한 무게상수는 작업자군에 대하여 25.05kg, 학생군에 대하여 20.24kg 으로 나타나 이는 미국 NIOSH 안전기준과 대체로 일치함을 발견하였다.ive structures utilized in Client/server architecture for distribution and cooperative processing of application between server and client this study presents two different data management methods under the Client/server environment; one is "Remote Data Management Method" which uses file server or database server and. the other is "Distributed Data Management Method" using distributed database management system.   • In this paper, electromagnetic scattering by a perfectly conducting strip grating on dielectric multilayers is analyzed for the normalized reflected and transmitted power by applying the Fourier-Galeakin moment method. The induced current density is expanded in a series of multiplication of chebyshev polynomials of the first kind and functions with appropriate edge boundary condition, the continuous condition of electromagnetic field is applied in the boundary planes. The confirm the validity of the proposed method, the nor- malized reflected and transmitted power obtained by varying the relative permittivity and thickness of each dielectric layers are evaluated and compared with those of the existing numerical method and a paper, and then the numerical results in this paper are in good agreement with those of the existing numerical method and the paper. The sharp variation position in the geometrically normalized reflected and transmitted power can be moved by the incident angle, grating period, and the relative permittivity and thickness of the dielectric multilayers, these sharp variation points which are called the Wood's anomaly of the Geome- trically normalized reflected power are observed as a main factor when the reflected powers of the higher order mode are transitted between propagating and evanescent modes, and the local minimum positions are slightly moved to the left hand direction in which grating period is getting small according to the increase of the relative permittivity of dielectric layers.

Separation of Waste TNT and RDX Mixture Using SMB Process (SMB 공정을 이용한 폐기 TNT와 RDX 혼합 용액의 분리)

  • Currently, researches on recycling and reuse of waste energetic materials have recently gained a great attention from advanced countries due to ever tightening environmental regulations. In this study, as a part of a recycling technology, the experiments and dynamic simulation of simulated moving bed (SMB) process were performed to efficiently separate TNT and RDX from their mixture, which are main components of ammunition. In order to determine the operation zone of SMB process, the retention times of TNT and RDX were measured using HPLC at different flow rates and the adsorption equilibrium of each component was obtained by using a moment method. According to the adsorption equilibrium and the triangle theory of SMB process, four operation points were determined and separation experiments were carried out by the SMB process using the solvent consisting of acetonitrile and water. Two different mixing ratios (6:4 and 1:1) of acetonitrile and water were chosen for the experiment due to the great impact of mixing ratio of the solvent on separation. The performance of SMB process was evaluated by purity, recovery, productivity and solvent consumption. Pure TNT and RDX were successfully obtained from the SMB process and the dynamic simulation for the SMB process agreed well with the experimental results. Therefore, the dynamic model could be applied for predicting the dynamic behavior of the SMB process and designing a large scale SMB process.

Synthesis, Sytructure, and Magnetic Properties of One-Dimensional Thiophoshates, $Al_2NiP_2S_6$ (A=Rb, Cs) (1차원 구조를 갖는 Thiophoshates, $Al_2NiP_2S_6$ (A=Rb, Cs)의 합성, 구조 및 자기적 성질)

  • The quaternary thiophosphates, $A_2NiP_2S_6$ (A=Rb, Cs), have been synthesized with halide fluxes and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique. These compounds crystallize in the space group $C_{2h}^5-P2_1/n$ of the monoclinic system with two formula units in a cell of dimensions a=5.960(2), b=12.323(4), $c=7.491(3)\AA$, $\beta=97.05(3)^{\circ}$, and $V=546.0(3)\AA^3$ for Rb2NiP2S6 and a=5.957(4), b=12.696(7), $c=7.679(4)\AA$, $b=93.60(5)^{\circ}$, and $V=579.7(5)\AA^3$ for $Cs_2NiP_2S_6.$ These compounds are isostructural. The structure of $Cs_2NiP_2S_6$ is made up of one-dimensional $_\infty^1[NiP_2S_6^{2-}]$ chains along the a axis and these chains are isolated by $Cs^+$ ions. The Ni atom is octahedrally coordinated by six S atoms. These Ni$S_6$ octahedral units are linked by sharing three m-S atoms of the $[P_2S_6^{4-}]$ anions to form the infinite one-dimensional $_\infty^1[NiP_2S_6^{2-}]$ chain. For $Cs_2NiP_2S_6$, the magnetic susceptibility reveals an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction below 8K,which corresponds to the Neel temperature ($T_N$). Above $T_N$, this compound obeys Curie-Weiss law. The magnetic moment, C, and ${\theta}forCs_2NiP_2S_6$ are 2.77 B.M., 0.9593 K, and -19.02 K, respectively. The effective magnetic moment obtained from the magnetic data is agreed with the spin-only value of $Ni^{2+}d^8$(2.83 B.M.) system.

Crystal Structure and Mossbauer Studies of 57Fe Doped TiO2 (57Fe가 치환된 TiO2의 결정학적 및 뫼스바우어 분광학적 연구)

  • $Ti_{1-x}$$^{57}$ F $e_{x}$ $O_2$(0.0$\leq$x$\leq$0.07) compounds were fabricated using the sol-gel method, and the crystal structure and magnetic properties were investigated as a function of doped $^{57}$ Fe concentration. X-ray diffraction patterns showed a pure anatase single phase, without any segregation of Fe into particulate. With varying $^{57}$ Fe concentration, we could observe unusual magnetic phenomena in these materials. Doping $^{57}$ Fe into the Ti $O_2$ nonmagnetic semiconductor formed magnetic properties, but the gradual increase of $^{57}$ Fe concentration decreased rapidly the ferromagnetic properties rather than enhanced the ferromagnetic properties. Obvious ferromagnetic behavior was shown for the samples with x$\leq$0.01, while paramagnetic behavior was shown for the sample with x$\geq$0.03. These phenomena could be verified using Mossbauer measurement. Separation of the ferromagnetic phase (sextet) and the paramagnetic phase (doublet) of the samples with different $^{57}$ Fe concentration was characterized. Samples with x$\leq$0.01 have sextet and doublet simultaneously, but samples with x$\geq$0.03 have only doublet at room temperature. This indicates that the sample x$\leq$0.01 have the ferromagnetic phase at room temperature. This result corresponded with the M-H loops referenced above and reveals an interesting feature that there is a critical limit of $^{57}$ Fe concentration (0.01$\leq$0.01 samples was fundamentally attributable to the paramagnetic phase as well as the ferromagnetic phase.e.

Prediction of Expected Residual Useful Life of Rubble-Mound Breakwaters Using Stochastic Gamma Process (추계학적 감마 확률과정을 이용한 경사제의 기대 잔류유효수명 예측)

  • A probabilistic model that can predict the residual useful lifetime of structure is formulated by using the gamma process which is one of the stochastic processes. The formulated stochastic model can take into account both the sampling uncertainty associated with damages measured up to now and the temporal uncertainty of cumulative damage over time. A method estimating several parameters of stochastic model is additionally proposed by introducing of the least square method and the method of moments, so that the age of a structure, the operational environment, and the evolution of damage with time can be considered. Some features related to the residual useful lifetime are firstly investigated into through the sensitivity analysis on parameters under a simple setting of single damage data measured at the current age. The stochastic model are then applied to the rubble-mound breakwater straightforwardly. The parameters of gamma process can be estimated for several experimental data on the damage processes of armor rocks of rubble-mound breakwater. The expected damage levels over time, which are numerically simulated with the estimated parameters, are in very good agreement with those from the flume testing. It has been found from various numerical calculations that the probabilities exceeding the failure limit are converged to the constraint that the model must be satisfied after lasting for a long time from now. Meanwhile, the expected residual useful lifetimes evaluated from the failure probabilities are seen to be different with respect to the behavior of damage history. As the coefficient of variation of cumulative damage is becoming large, in particular, it has been shown that the expected residual useful lifetimes have significant discrepancies from those of the deterministic regression model. This is mainly due to the effect of sampling and temporal uncertainties associated with damage, by which the first time to failure tends to be widely distributed. Therefore, the stochastic model presented in this paper for predicting the residual useful lifetime of structure can properly implement the probabilistic assessment on current damage state of structure as well as take account of the temporal uncertainty of future cumulative damage.
