  • In this study, high performance patching repair mortars with light weight and sulfuric acid resistance properties were suggested. Their performance estimation were investigated based on KS F 4042 using patching repair mortar with light weight aggregate and soluble polymer of Type I and sulfuric acid resistance mortar of Type II, From these results, it was confirmed that these motors were satisficed and improved by all standard tests of KS F 4042.

  • In this study, the applicability and reproducibility of LIBS in the analysis of chloride penetration in the mortar section were investigated. Standard analysis (IC, potentiometric titration) and LIBS analysis were simultaneously performed on the accelerated and immersed mortar by chloride concentration. Through LIBS analysis after making an eluate at the same depth for each concentration, the signal intensity of chloride ions was confirmed according to the depth and concentration at the wavelength of 837.59 nm, and a correlation between the LIBS signal intensity and the chloride concentration was confirmed. Although it is an aqueous solution-based LIBS analysis, the applicability and reproducibility of LIBS were confirmed not only for the incorporation of chloride but also for the amount of permeated chloride.

  • The objective of this study is to develop a mortar mixture with high workability and adhesive strength for section jacketing in seismic strengthening technology of existing concrete structures. To achieve targeted requirements of the mortars (initial flow exceeding 200 mm, compressive strength of 30MPa, and adhesive strength exceeding 1MPa), step-by-step tests were conducted under the variation of the following mixture parameters: water-to-binder ratio, sand-to-binder ratio, polymer-to-binder ratio, dosage of viscosity agent, and content of ultra-rapid-hardening cement. The adhesive strength of the mortars was also estimated with respect to the various surface treatment states of existing concrete. Based on the test results, the mortar mixture with the polymer-to-binder ratio of 10% and the content of ultra-rapid-hardening cement of 5% can be recommended for the section jacketing materials. The recommended mortar mixture satisfied the targeted requirements as follows: initial flow of 220 mm, high-early strength gain, 28-day compressive strength of 35MPa, and adhesive strength exceeding 1.2MPa.

  • Recently, the damaged concrete structures are often strengthened or repaired using the polymer concrete or the polymer cement mortar. In the repaired concrete structures at early ages, internal stresses could be developed due to the differential drying shrinkage of the repair material. Due to the difference of the thermal coefficients of the repair material and existing concrete, additional stresses also could be developed as the structures are subjected to the ambient temperature changes. Theses environmentally-induced stresses can sometimes be large enough to cause damage to the structures, such as debonding of the interface between the two materials. In this study, a rational procedure was developed where anchors can be designed and installed to prevent damages in such structures by thermally-induced stresses. Finally, through the experimental study and numerical study, the effects of the repair method using anchors with debonding was investigated and discussed the results.

  • High strength concrete is the occurrence of explosive spalling associated with high temperature such as a fire. The spalling causes the sever reduction of the cross sectional area with the exposure of the reinforcing steel, which originates a problem in the structural behaviour. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanical properties of lightweight mortar using perlite and polypropylene fiber for fire protection covering material. For this purpose, selected test variables were the ratio of water to cement, the ratio of cement to perlite, contents of polypropylene fiber. As a result of this study, it has been found that addition of perlite and polypropylene fiber to mortar modifies its pore structure and reduces its density. And it has been found that a new lightweight mortar can be used in the fire protection covering material.

  • This paper presents a reinforced concrete composite column method in order to improve seismic performance of reinforced concrete column specimens by selectively applying steel fiber-reinforced mortars at the column plastic hinge region. In order to evaluate seismic improvement of the newly developed column method, a series of cyclic load test of column specimens under a constant axial load was investigated by manufacturing three specimens, two reinforced concrete composite columns by applying steel fiber-reinforced mortars at the column plastic hinge region and one conventional reinforced concrete column. Both concrete and steel fiber-reinforced mortar was cast-in placed type. From cyclic load test, it was found that the newly developed steel fiber-reinforced columns showed improved seismic performances than conventional reinforced concrete column in controlling bending and shear cracks as well as improving seismic lateral load-carrying capacities and lateral deformation capacities.

  • Deterioration of sewer concrete is representative that biochemical corrosion according to the $H_2S$ has growth by inhabit sulfur-oxidzing bacteria because of special environment in sewer. But in case of domestic, fundamentally, sulfur-oxidzing bacteria could moderate development of repair material method is need because of corrosion prevent method is inconsideration with carry out to improve project. In this paper, after development of spread type antibiotic with antibio-metal, antibacterial performance about sulfur-oxidzing bacteria of antibiotic and tested to estimate fundamental properties of bonding strength, abrasion contents, contents of water absorption, contents of air permeability, carbonation depth, chloride ion penetration depth and chemical resistance of spread with antibiotic restorative mortar.
