Analysis of the Friction Induced Instability of Disc Brake Using Distributed Parameter Model (분포매개변수를 이용한 디스크 브레이크의 마찰기인 불안정성 해석)

  • This paper deals with friction-induced vibration of disc brake system under constant friction coefficient. A linear, lumped and distributed parameter model to represent the floating caliper disc brake system is proposed. The complex eigenvalues are used to investigate the dynamic stability and in order to verify simulations which are based on the theoretical model, the experimental modal test and the dynamometer test are performed. The comparison of experimental and theoretical results shows a good agreement and the analysis indicates that mode coupling due to friction force is responsible for disc brake squeal. And squeal type Instability is Investigated by using the parametric analysis. This indicates parameters which have influence on the propensity of brake squeal. This helped to validate the analysis model and establish confidence in the analysis results. Also they may be useful during system development or diagnostic analysis.

  • 본 연구에서는 기설구조물에 대한 손상도 추정기법과 내진능력평가 방법에 대하여 연구하였다. 구조물의 손상도를 추정하는 방법으로는 소수의 계측 데이터를 이용한 모드섭동법(inverse modal perturbation)을 이용하였다. 구조물의 손상은 강성행렬의 감소로 표현하여, 각 요소행렬에 대한 손상을 손상지수를 사용하여 나타내었다. 구조적 손상과 이에 기인한 고유진동 특성의 변화량과의 관계를 섭동방정식으로부터 구한 후, 이로부터 손상지수와 고유진동 특성의 변화량과의 관계를 유동하였다. 따라서 손상 전과 후에서 구조물의 고유진동수와 모드형상을 측정하여 섭동식의 해를 구함으로써 구조물의 강성행렬의 감소로 나타나는 구조물의 손상도를 추정하게 된다. 손상도 추정에 의해 평가된 강성의 변화량에 기인한 손상 후의 기설구조물의 지진응답, 내진능력과 지진손상도의 평가를 손상전과 비교하였다. 내진능력은 구조부재에서 회전연성도 능력의 경험식을 이용하여 평가하였고, 지진손상도의 평가는 가장 많이 사용되는 방법인 Park & Ang 방법을 사용하였다. 예제해석은 다른 지진하중을 받는 2층과 8층의 예제구조물에 대해서 수행하였다.

A Study on the Characteristics of Coupling Loss factor Associated with Fluid Loading (접수 구조물의 연성손실계수 변화에 관한 연구)

  • Statistical Energy Analysis(SEA) is an efficient tool to predict the broadband noise and vibration for the huge and complex structures such as aircraft and ships. To estimate the noise and vibration by using SEA accurately, the characteristics of SEA parameters associated with fluid loading have to be investigated. In this report, the fluid loaded coupling loss factors were calculated for an 'L' and 'T' type line connections and compared to the ones without fluid loading. Then, the vibration levels for steel box model with 'L' and 'T' type line connection were computed using the fluid loaded and no fluid loaded coupling loss factors, respectively. As a result, the calculated vibration levels of the model using the fluid loaded coupling loss factors were lower than those without fluid loading. As a conclusion, it is necessary to use the fluid loaded coupling loss factors for increasing the prediction accuracy on the noise and vibration of immersed structures.

  • The foundation of offshore wind energy system is generally assumed to be fixed-ended in system analysis for the convenience of calculation and, correspondingly, it might lead a conservative design. If soil-foundation interaction get involved with the analysis, the system characteristics such as natural frequency, shear force, moment and displacement are expected to differ from those of fixed-ended case. In this study, the analysis have been conducted to identify how the response of offshore wind turbine varies upon considering the foundation flexibility with soil-foundation interaction. The model taking account of the flexibility of foundation was compared with fixed-ended model at the seabed. The flexibilities of foundation were obtained by coupled spring model at the seabed and Winkler Spring Model with soil depth. As a result, the first mode of the whole system with the Winkler Spring Model was decreased relative to that with the fixed-ended model. The results showed that the effect of foundation flexibility should be considered when designing the offshore wind energy system.

  • AISI 316L 스테인리스강에 새롭게 디자인한 서로 다른 3가지 응고모드를 가진 와이어로 FCAW(Flux Cored Arc Welding)을 하였다. 각각의 3가지 와이어는 Pseudobinary phase diagram에 따라 AF, FA, F모드를 가졌다. 미세조직은 $Cr_{eq}/Ni_{eq}$이 증가할수록 델타 페라이트 함량이 증가하였으며, 초정 상의 경우 초정 오스테나이트에서 초정 페라이트로 변태하였고, 연성저하균열의 민감도가 감소하였다. 연성저하균열은 이동결정립계의 형상에 따라 좌우되며, 미량의 페라이트를 함유한 오스테나이트에서는 페라이트가 핀(Pin) 역할을 제대로 하지 못하여 직선형태의 이동 결정립계 따라 입계 미끄러짐의 메커니즘을 통해 전파되었으며, 곡선형태의 이동 결정립계에서는 델타 페라이트가 핀 역할을 하여 역할을 하여 구속 상태에서 응력집중을 막고 응력을 분산시켜 균열이 전파되는 것을 방해하여 균열이 발생되지 않았다.

  • Wind tunnel test results and their interpretations, which were performed to study the aerodynamic stability of tower of self-anchored suspension bridge, are presented in this paper. Tower and full models were tested under smooth and turbulent flow conditions. In the case of the tower with inclined two columns, the vibration due to wakes were occurred at wide velocity zone because the wakes with various frequencies were generated by inclined upstream column. It has to be emphasized that the vibration characteristics of the tower in the self-anchored suspension bridge may be very sensitive to the longitudinal boundary conditions of the girder at the supports. Because of the two natural frequency of the tower, out-of-plane bending and torsional, were not well separated, coupled motions were observed in a wide range of wind velocity. The effectiveness of corner cut, countermeasure to reduce the tower vibrations, was also studied. It has been found that 1:10, comer cut size to column width, may be the most effective ratio for reducing the vibrations.

Analytical Study on the Slewing Dynamics of Hybrid Coordinate Systems (복합좌표계 시스템의 선회동역학에 관한 해석적 연구)

  • In this paper, an analytic solution method is proposed to overcome the numerical problems when the slewing dynamics of hybrid coordinate systems is investigated via time finite element analysis. It is shown that the dynamics of the hybrid coordinate systems is governed by the coupled dual differential equations for both slewing and structural modes. Structural modes are transformed into the time-based modal coordinates and analytic spatial propagation equations are derived for each space-dependent time mode. Slew angle history is obtained analytically by appropriate applications of the boundary conditions and structural propagation is re-calculated using the slew angle. Numerical examples are demonstrated to validate the proposed analytic method in comparison to the existing state transition matrix method.

Experimental Modal Analysis of Two Unequal Rectangular Plates Coupled with Fluid (유체로 연성되고 두께가 상이한 두 직사각 평판의 실험적 모드 해석)

  • In order to study the vibration characteristics of fluid-structure interaction problem, two rectangular plates coupled with bounded fluid were investigated. Experimental modal analyses were carried out to extract the modal parameters of the system. Additionally. finite element modal analyses performed using a commercial computer code, ANSYS. The FEM solutions were compared with the experimental solutions to verify the finite element model. As a result, the comparison between the experiment and FEM results showed excellent agreement. The transverse vibration modes, in-phase and out-of-phase, were observed alternately in the fluid-coupled system. The thickness effect of the plates on the fluid-coupled natural frequencies and mode shapes was investigated for two different cases with the identical thickness and the unequal thickness. It was found that the coupled natural frequencies increase with the thickness for the identical plates regardless of the mode phase. The experimental and the finite element analysis results showed that the out-of-phase mode shapes were deviated from the symmetrical mode shapes in the plate transverse direction fur the unequal plate thickness case.

Mode Selection Chain Code for Coding of Line Drawing Images (선도형의 부호화를 위한 모드설정 체인코드)

  • Line drawing images are the most proper information to represent the characteristics and shapes of digital images and used for recognition and communication. For the coding of line drawing images, common eight-direction chain code is used mostly. In the paper, the new mode selection chain code method is proposed which can compress the eight-direction chain code about twenty percents and be used for the reversible coding method of line drawing images. In this coding techniques, we set a reference mode for each quadrant around an abject pixel, and assign 3-directional code for these reference modes. Therefore a line pixel is coded with 3 bits. Also, a new corner finding method of line drawing images using this mode selection chain code is proposed in this paper.

A Study on the Optimization of a Spacecraft Structure by Using Coupled Load Analysis Model and Modal Transient Analysis (연성하중해석 모델과 모달과도해석을 이용한 위성체 구조부재의 최적화 연구)

  • In this paper an optimization algorithm is suggested to reduce the huge computation time in the optimum design of large structures, especially in spacecraft structures. It combines the coupled load analysis model using a constrained mode of component mode synthesis and the modal transient analysis. The computer simulation code is developed and evaluated in optimizing spacecraft platforms. The developed algorithm can alleviate the computational load with adequate accuracy. From the optimization of a spacecraft structural member, the characteristics of each structural member can be understood.
