Implementation of Interactive Media Content Production Framework based on Gesture Recognition (제스처 인식 기반의 인터랙티브 미디어 콘텐츠 제작 프레임워크 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose a content creation framework that enables users without programming experience to easily create interactive media content that responds to user gestures. In the proposed framework, users define the gestures they use and the media effects that respond to them by numbers, and link them in a text-based configuration file. In the proposed framework, the interactive media content that responds to the user's gesture is linked with the dynamic projection mapping module to track the user's location and project the media effects onto the user. To reduce the processing speed and memory burden of the gesture recognition, the user's movement is expressed as a gray scale motion history image. We designed a convolutional neural network model for gesture recognition using motion history images as input data. The number of network layers and hyperparameters of the convolutional neural network model were determined through experiments that recognize five gestures, and applied to the proposed framework. In the gesture recognition experiment, we obtained a recognition accuracy of 97.96% and a processing speed of 12.04 FPS. In the experiment connected with the three media effects, we confirmed that the intended media effect was appropriately displayed in real-time according to the user's gesture.

A Method and Application of Vulnerability Analysis for Combat Systems Considering Threats and Defense Ability : Focused on PKM Model (위협의 특성과 장갑의 방호 성능을 고려한 전투 시스템의 취약성 분석 방법 및 활용 : 고속정 모델을 대상으로)

  • There are many researches which analyze vulnerability for combat systems, have been progressing, and apply the analyzed result to reflect on design phase. Recently, there have been requirements for integrating the previous module based researches which conducted independently. In this paper, we propose an integrated vulnerability analysis method for the combat system considering characteristics of threats and protection performance of armors through an analysis of the advanced research. In addition, by applying the proposed method improves the existing hit probability analysis program and we are verified based on scenarios for improving survivability of PKM (Petrol Killer Medium) for vulnerability analysis confirmed the results. The proposed method improves reliability of vulnerability analysis by considering threats and defense ability. Also it able to satisfied with the integration requirements. Furthermore, we became buildup for the development of applied system and the method and integrated vulnerability analysis method for combat systems.

Application of SWMM for Reduction of Runoff and Pollutant Loading in LID Facilities (LID시설의 유출량 및 오염부하 저감효율평가를 위한 SWMM모델의 적용)

  • Urbanization can be remarkable affected flood, pollutant loading, ecological system, and green infrastructure by distortion of hydrologic cycle. In order to mitigate these problems in urban, Low Impact Development(LID) technique has been introduced and applied in the world. SWMM model was calibrated with sets of field monitoring data and applied for calculation of runoff and pollutant loading in Asan-tangjung LID city under 2016 rainfall. Runoff reduction of watershed and catchment basins were showed efficiency 12.2% and 62.0%, respectively. Reduction of COD and TP loading also high efficiency in catchment basins were evaluated 74.9 and 71.4%. The results of this study can be used effectively in decision making processes of urban development project by comparing watershed runoff and pollutant reduction by designs of sort of LID technique, LID volume and location.

  • This paper deals with our experience for the design and implementation of Transport and Session managers in the Integrated Streaming Service Architecture (IS SA) that was developed by the authors. The ISSA is a streaming framework that allows to develop integrated multimedia streaming applications such as VOD system in unicast/multicast and real-time broadcastOive-cast). It also facilities standard real-time transport protocols such as RTp(Real-Time Transport Protocol)/RTCP(Real-time Control Protocol) and RTSP(Real-Time Streaming ProtocoD that allows to user openness. The ISSA supports diverse media fonnats and is independent from underlying networks and operating systems, and compatible with the global real-time multimedia database system (BeeHive) so that streaming media are efficiently retrieved, stored, and serviced. The role of the Transport Manager is to do packetization and depacketization for the different types of multimedia data and delivers the packetized media data in real-time. The Transport Manager uses RTP protocol. The role of the Session Manager is to establish and control the media channel by using RTSP protocol and to deliver the database transactions for the multimedia database by using RTTP(Real-Time Transaction Protocol) protocol. Both the Transport and Session Manager are doing their functions through the network interface in the ISSA that allows developers to various network programming interfaces and provides flexibility to the system.

  • Ontology merging describes the process of integrating two ontologies into a new ontology. How this is done best is a subject of ongoing research in the Semantic Web, Data Integration, Knowledge Management System, and other ontology-related application systems. Earlier research on ontology merging, however, has studied for developing effective ontology matching approaches but missed analyzing and solving methods of problems of merging two ontologies given correspondences between them. In this paper, we propose a specific ontology merging process and a generic operator, T-MERGE, for integrating two source ontologies into a new ontology. Also, we define a taxonomy of merging conflicts which is derived from differing representations between input ontologies and a method for detecting and resolving them. Our T-MERGE operator encapsulates the process of detection and resolution of conflicts and merging two entities based on given correspondences between them. We define a data structure, MergeLog, for logging the execution of T-MERGE operator. MergeLog is used to inform detailed results of execution of merging to users or recover errors. For our experiments, we used oriental philosophy ontologies, western philosophy ontologies, Yahoo western philosophy dictionary, and Naver philosophy dictionary as input ontologies. Our experiments show that the automatic merging module compared with manual merging by a expert has advantages in terms of time and effort.

  • 이동통신 기술이 발전함에 따라 이동통신 네트워크를 통한 서비스들이 다양해지고, 사용자들의 수는 점점 늘어가고 있다. 또한 사용자들은 일반적으로 이동통신 서비스에 대해 유선 망과 동등한 수준의 품질을 기대한다. 그러나, 이동통신망은 유무선 통합망으로 구성되어 있으며, 이들 복잡한 구성을 갖는 네트워크에 대한 서비스 품질 보장은 유선망에 비해 훨씬 어렵다. 이의 결과로, 이동통신 서비스 네트워크의 트래픽은 과거에 비해 폭발적으로 증가하였다. 따라서, 네트워크 사업자와 서비스 제공자들은 서비스의 성능 문제에 직면하고 있으며, 네트워크 사업자나 서비스 제공자들은 효과적인 서비스 품질관리 기술을 강력하게 요구하고 있다. QoS 감시는 QoS 제공과 보장을 위한 기본적인 기술로서, 실제 네트워크에서 QoS 감시를 위해서는 네트워크 및 서비스 성능 인자들과 QoS 인자들의 관계를 식별해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 서비스와 네트워크 성능인자 그리고, QoS 인자들간의 관계를 QoS metrics로 정의하며, 각 인자들의 관계는 계층적인 그래프로 나타낸다. Estimating Personal and Social Information for Mobile User (모바일 사용자의 개인 및 소셜 정보 추정)

  • The popularity of mobile devices provides their users with a circumstance that services and information can be accessed wherever and whenever users need. Accordingly, various studies have been proposed personalized methods to improve accessibility of mobile users to information. However, since these personalized methods require users' private information, they gives rise to problems on security. An efficient way to resolve security problems is to estimate user information by using their online and offline behavior. In this paper, for this purpose, it is proposed a novel user information identification system that identifies users' personal and social information by using both his/her behavior on social network services and proximity patterns obtained from GPS data. In the proposed system, personal information of a user like age, gender, and so on is estimated by analyzing SNS texts and POI (Point of Interest) patterns, while social information between a pair of users like family and friend is predicted with proximity patterns between the users. Each identification module is efficiently designed to handle the characteristics of user data like much noise in SNS texts and missing signals in GPS data. In experiments to evaluate the proposed system, our system shows its superiority against ordinary identification methods. This result means that the proposed system can efficiently reflect the characteristics of user data.

  • As computer systems of high capacity and high performance recently emerged, various researches about GISs(Geographic Information Systems) have been in progress and many GIS applications have also been developed. From the domestic situation where many people are using mobile devices, because of the recent advances in the mobile technology, we can infer that the time will come when every individual will carry a mobile device with a GPS(Global Positioning System) module resulting from the development of a miniature GPS Module. Therefore, a mobile GIS that can allows users to deal with dynamic GIS data management and perform their tasks while moving will be required. This paper discusses the design and implementation of a mobile GIS using the shareware DBMS, called postgresSQL. The Mobile GIS in which a mobile concept is utilized at the GIS data server makes it possible to insert, delete, update GIS data, to zoom in and zoom out displayed maps, and to locate the user's position on the client device. Therefore, It is possible to manage dynamic GIS data in order to deal with GIS data on the maps while moving, connect various GIS data servers through the middleware, and connected with ITS (Intelligent Transport System) which is one of applications of the Mobile GIS developed in this paper.

Fresh Water Injection Test in a Fractured Bedrock Aquifer for the Mitigation of Seawater Intrusion (해수침투 저감을 위한 균열암반 대수층 내 담수주입시험)

  • Fresh water injection test in a fractured bedrock aquifer was applied as an efficient approach to lower saline concentrations in the saltwater-freshwater transition zone formed by seawater intrusion in a coastal area. The methodology and effectiveness of fresh water injection for hydraulically controlling seawater intrusion is overwhelmingly site dependent, and there is an urgent need to characterize the permeable fractures or unconsolidated porous formations which can allow for seawater flow and transport. Considering aquifer characteristics, injection and monitoring boreholes were optimally designed and completed to inject fresh water through sand layer and fractured bedrock, respectively. We devised and used the injection system using double packer for easy field operation and maintenance. Overall fracture distribution was systematically identified from borehole image logs, and the section of fresh water injection was decided from injection test and monitoring. With fresh water injection, the fluid electrical conductivity of the monitoring well started to be lowered by the inflow of fresh water at the specific depth. And this inflow leaded to the replacement of the fluid in the upper parts of the borehole with fresh water. Furthermore, the injection effect lasted more than several months, which means that fresh water injection may contribute to the mitigation of seawater intrusion in a coastal area.

  • 본 논문에서는 웹(World Wide Web)에서 사용자가 손쉽고 편리하게 이용할 수 있는 멀티미디어 대중교통 안내시스템 개발 경험을 소개한다. 개발된 시스템은 클라이언트와 서버 시스템, 경로탐색 시스템, 교통정보 저장 시스템, 노선 및 정류장 관리 시스템으로 구성되어 있다. 클라이언트에서 작동되는 사용자 인터페이스는 직관적으로 이해가 쉽고, 사용이 편리하며 인터액티브한 멀티미디어 대중 교통안내 서비스를 제공한다. 서버 시스템은 교통정보 수집 시스템으로부터 입력되는 데이타와, 경로탐색 시스템, 교통정보 저장 시스템과 연동되어 클라이언트의 요구사항을 처리하고 그 결과를 사용자에게 돌려준다. 수정된 A* 알고리즘을 이용하는 경로탐색 시스템은 최적경로를 탐색하며, 교통정보 저장 시스템은 현재 교통상황, 정류장, 노선, 지도 등의 정보를 저장한다. 노선 및 정류장 관리시스템은 시스템 관리자가 노선 또는 정류장 관리를 서버 화면의 지도상에서 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 도구이다. 본 논문에서 다루는 대중교통 안내시스템은 Java로 구현하였기 때문에 확장과 이식이 용이하며, 시스템 유지보수 비용이 적게 드는 장점을 가지고 있다. 그리고, 웹 브라우저가 동작되는 환경에서는 어디서나 쉽게 접근이 가능하며 향후 구축될 Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS)의 한 모듈로써 바로 작동될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 현재 인터넷상에서 제공되는 다양한 서비스와도 연동이 가능하다.Abstract This paper introduces our experience for developing a public transportation guidance system, which facilitates the World-Wide Web(WWW) to provide users with easier access and use. The proposed system is composed of four subsystems: client/server system, path search system, traffic data storage system, and traffic raw-data management system. The user interface in clients utilizes Java to furnish users with multimedia data accessibility and interactivity. The server processes clients' requests based on the traffic data coming from remote sensing devices and interacts with the path search system and traffic data storage system to provide users with the results. The path search system, which uses a modified A* algorithm, produces optimal solutions based on dynamic traffic data. The traffic data storage system stores the current traffic information together with the geographical information about the b$us_way routes. The traffic raw-data management system is a graphical user interface which enables the system manager to handle the traffic information easily on the map in the terminal screen. The system has considerable benefits such as portability, scalability, and flexibility since it is implemented using Java. Also, it can be extended to an integrated Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS) which includes a variety of information on the Internet as well as traffic information.n.
