  • ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Network)은 종합정보통신망이라 명명되었으며 그 이름에서 내포하듯이 음성정보와 각종 멀티미디어 정보를 함께 보내고 받을 수 있는 통신망이다. 기본적인 서비스인 BRI(Basic Rate Interface)는 2개의 정보채널에 각각 64kbps 속도의 통신 서비스이며 규모 있는 회사에 보급되는 PRI(Primary Rate Interface)는 30개의 정보채널을 제공한다.

  • TV 프로그램 예약녹화 시스템은 시청자가 화면에 나타나는 프로그램 안내를 보고 간편한 리모콘의 조작만으로 예약설정을 하면. 부재중에도 정확한 예약녹화를 할 수 있는 방식이다. 이 방식은 방송국의 시간 변경이나 프로그램 변경시에도 정확하게 녹화가 되며 현재일로부터 최대 4주까지의 프로그램 데이터를 각 채널별로 운영할 수 있다. 방송 3사와 가전 4사가 공동규격을 정하고 개발한 이 방식은 한국형 예약녹화 시스템(Korean Broadcasting Program System KBPS)이라 명명되었다

  • 해양연구소에 보관되어 있던 한국산 바다거미류를 조사한 결과 총 21종이 밝혀졌는데, 이 중에서 6종은 한국내 미기록종이고 1 종은 신종임이 판명되어 Anoplodactylus hwanghaensis 라고 명명하여 기재 및 도해한다. 또 한국내 미기록종에 대한 고찰과 도해도 첨가한다.

  • 1973년 7월 15일 제주도 서귀포 천지연 폭포 상류에서 채집된 Caridina denticulata가 신아종임을 확인하고 이를 학명으로 Caridina denticulata keunbaei, 한국말로 제주새뱅이라 명명하여 기재한다. 이 신아종은 다른 유연자들에 비해 이마뿔이 매우 짧다.

  • Psenes maculatus and P. cyanophrys of family Nomeidae were collected for the first time off the coast of Tongyeong, Kyongsangnam-do, Korea. Specimens were catched with drifting seaweed patches on June and July, 1998. Young Psenes maculatus has six black bands ('<' shape) on the body, and 'Ttimul-reung-dom' is proposed as the Korean name. Psenes cyanophrys differs from P. pellucidus in having a compressed oval body shape scales on the check, and 16 longitudinal lines on the body. 'Jul-mu-nui-mul-reung-dom' is proposed as the Korean name.

A taxonomic review of Korean Lycoris (Amaryllidaceae) (한국산 상사화속(Lycoris, 수선화과)의 분류학적 재검토)

  • Texa of Lycoris in Korea were classified as five species with two varieties and revised taxonomically. Among the examined taxa, five Korean endemic plants were clarified: Lycoris flavescens M. Kim et S. Lee, L. uydoensis M. Kim, L. chejuensis Tae et S. Ko, L. chinensis var. sinuolata Tae et S. Ko, and L. sanguinea var. koreana (Nakai) T. Koyama. It was found that L. flavescens, L. uydoensis, and L. chejuensis were the natural hybrids between taxa of M+T karyotype and A karyotype. A specimen collected on Aug. 20, 1987 by M. Kim was designated as a holotype of Lycoris flavescens M. Kim et S. Lee. Lycoris flavescens var. uydoensis was ranked up to L. uydoensis. A key to all species including descriptions of each taxon was provided.

  • This research investigated recognitions on outside and inside electrodes in an electric circuit supplied by a galvanic cell, through survey and interview of teachers studying in Departments of Physics Education and Chemistry Education at H University Graduate School. Physics majors' designations on outside or inside parts of electrodes in a galvanic cell were different from Chemistry majors'. Teachers who had majored in physics had difficulties on the inside electrode of a galvanic cell, while teachers who had majored in chemistry had difficulties on the outside electrode. Reasonings for designations of electrodes were attributed to direction of electric current in case of physics teachers and redox in case of chemistry teachers, respectively, which are strongly dependent on backgrounds performed in their undergraduate course.

  • Nine samples of soft rotten roots and blighted leaves of Ficus spp. plants were collected from the vinyl-houses in Taejeon, Seongnam, Suweon and Yangjae in 1988 and pathogenic bactea were isolated from them Results of the studies on morphological, cultural, physiologucal and pathological characteristics indicated that the bacteria from Ficus retusa were Pseudomonas cichorii, from Ficus retusa \`Golden leaf\` and Ficus benjamina were P.viridiflava. These are the first description of bacteria which caused the diseases on Ficus spp. in Korea. We proposed to name the disease of Ficus retusa by P. cichorii as \"bacterial root rot of Ficus retusa\" and Ficus retusa(Golden leaf) and Ficus benjamina by P. viridiflava as \"bacterial leaf blight of Ficus retusa (Golden leaf)\", \"bacterial blight of Ficus benjamina\", respectively.
