Porous matrices to contain and support phosphoric acid were prepared with PTFE as binder and SiC whisker or SiC powders of various particle size for phosphoric acid fuel cell(PAFC). Among the matrix characteristics the most important factors in stack performances were thought to be the bubble pressure and electrolyte wettability And then matrix was constructed to have pore size smaller than that of electrode. The bubble pressures and wettabilities of matrices manufactured with various size of SiC and different PTFE contents were investigated and related with the porosities measured by porosimeter, and then the optimum manufacturing condition of matrix for PAFC was determined.

A SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) and CMM (Capability Maturity Model) assessment can be considered as representative software process assessment models since assessors assign ratings to indicators and metrics to measure the capability of software precesses. But ail of process assessment models don't provide a subjective measurement procedure and metrics. In this paper we define basic quality process metrics and propose standard metrics for each process based on SPICE and CMM. This study also proposed a guideline for a subjective measurement procedure and the metrics are effectively use to SPI.
In order to develop high quality software, software metrics have been made to assess the quality of software, and recently, many object-oriented metrics have been suggested for this purpose as well. However, research on the utilization of metrics to control software quality in a development process has been inadequate. This is due to the difficulty in assessing the significance of metrics in a software development process from the perspective of overall software quality. In this paper, we propose a method of applying metrics to a development process using the Hierarchical Software Quality Model(H-SQM) which is defined in terms of the products' special features. The method represents the H-SQM as the cause-and-effect diagram and changes the diagram to the process-analysis diagram. And it applies software quality metrics to each development stage by the process-analysis diagram. In this way, we could utilize the software quality metrics efficiently in order to improve the quality of software in the software development process.
As Internet is being widely used as an infra of distributed applications, the most of today's softwares are changing into Internet-based distributed applications. The development methods using the middleware, like CORBA ORB, make the development of the web-based software easy. However, the performance verification method useful for an optimized software distribution is not provided at software development. Additionally, monitoring methods and metrics for dynamic load-balancing are not presented at run-time. This paper presents the method to monitor the message between objects, load metric, and metrics for load-balancing. To calculate a load of a node, we define events occurred between applications, time between the events, then extract the data related to a load. And we derive formula calculating the load from the extracted data. Then using the formula, we present the metrics for dynamic load-balancing. Moreover, we observe the utilization and efficiency of the monitoring algorithm, load metric, and load-balancing metrics.

In this paper, a new matrix decoding system using vector based Virtual Source Location Information (VSLI) is proposed as an alternative to the conventional Dolby Pro logic II/IIx system for reconstructing multi-channel output signals from matrix encoded two channel signals, Lt/Rt. This new matrix decoding system is composed of passive decoding part and active part. The passive part makes crude multi-channel signals using linear combination of the two encoded signals(Lt/Rt) and the active part enhances each channel regarding to the virtual source which is emergent in each inter channel. Since the virtual sources are related to the perceptual sound images in virtual sound field, the reconstructed multi-channel sound results in good dynamic perception and stable image localization. Moreover, the good channel separation is maintained with nonlinear trigonometric enhancing function.
The component-based development methodology becomes famous as the reuse technology for independence and productivity of software development It is necessary component metrics for component-based systems, because It should be measurable to improve the quality of the software. Hence, in this paper, we propose component cohesion and coupling metrics which is reflected in characteristics of component. The operation use value is calculated by the information of classes interface commonly uses to offer the component's service. And, the operation similarity value is calculated by the operations use value. Component cohesion and coupling is calculated by the operation similarity and based of the information which is extracted in the analysis phase. And, we examine the necessity of component metrics in comparison with object-oriented metrics.
