A Study on Distributed Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm with Quantum-infusion Mechanism (Quantum-infusion 메커니즘을 이용한 분산형 입자군집최적화 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a novel DPSO-QI (Distributed PSO with quantum-infusion mechanism) algorithm improving one of the fatal defect, the so-called premature convergence, that degrades the performance of the conventional PSO algorithms is proposed. The proposed scheme has the following two distinguished features. First, a concept of neighborhood of each particle is introduced, which divides the whole swarm into several small groups with an appropriate size. Such a strategy restricts the information exchange between particles to be done only in each small group. It thus results in the improvement of particles' diversity and further minimization of a probability of occurring the premature convergence phenomena. Second, a quantum-infusion (QI) mechanism based on the quantum mechanics is introduced to generate a meaningful offspring in each small group. This offspring in our PSO mechanism improves the ability to explore a wider area precisely compared to the conventional one, so that the degree of precision of the algorithm is improved. Finally, some numerical results are compared with those of the conventional researches, which clearly demonstrates the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed DPSO-QI algorithm.

  • The MANET has many problems in security despite of its many advantages such as supporting the mobility of nodes, independence of the fixed infrastructure, and quick network establishment. In particular, in establishing security, the traditional certification service has many difficult problems in applying to the MANET because of its safety, expandability, and availability. In this paper, a secure and effective distributed certification service method was proposed using the Secret Sharing scheme and the Threshold Digital Signature scheme in providing certification services in the MANET. In the proposed distributed certification service, certain nodes of relatively high safety among the mobile nodes consisting of the MANET, were set as privileged nodes, from which the process of issuing a certification started. The proposed scheme solved problem that the whole network security would be damaged by the intrusion to one node in the Centralized Architecture and the Hierarchical Architecture. And it decreased the risk of the exposure of the personal keys also in the Fully Distributed Architecture as the number of the nodes containing the partial confidential information of personal keys decreased. By the network simulation, the features and availability of the proposed scheme was evaluated and the relation between the system parameters was analyzed.

Pathological Discussion of Anemia in Fish (어류 빈혈에 관한 병리학적 고찰)

  • Anemia in fish can be easily recognized by examining the gill color and physical properties of sampled blood. The number of erythrocytes is generally within 1-3 ${\times}10^6$. Hematocrit (Ht) reportedly ranges 35-45% in many of reports which is nearly the same as that in mammals. Anemia in fish can also be classified as hemorrhagic, hemolytic and hypoplastic ones. Fish are also expected to have similar pathological effects by anemia as in mammals. From the fact that fish can survive under extremely low hematocrit below 10% and antarctic icefish (Chanenocephalus aceratus) has no erythrocytes, different pathological effects were expected. Anemia is considered to have one of the most important health parameters, based on the pathological aspect. Therefore, by reviewing clinical and histopathological findings of most of fish diseases already known and then adding our results of experimental anemia, diseases and factors related to anemia were summarized and the pathological effects was discussed.

  • In this paper, we developed a module that can execute the data acquisition of the real-time measured radiant rays in the specific part of the nuclear power station. This module that includes the RF communication function, paces around the power station, being loaded on robot and can obtain the generated radiant rays in the various places through the detecting devices. It is considered that this new developed radiant rays acquisition method will have the higher degree of efficiency as compared with the existing method and reduce the expenses of the maintenance and repair work.

  • Five Plus One' is a result of visual expressions on five senses such as the sense of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Although I searched for the data on five senses, there were only information which was quoted in various languages and scientific bases, and also most of the books written were far from artistic expressions including visual pleasure and emotional expressions. In addition, most materials were mainly textbooks for children's intellectual development, academic papers, and medical publications. Therefore, I made this book that makes us to communicate about five senses and an inspiration even though we have a problem to read writings in both Korean and English. I arranged visual elements using illustrations and typography in various ways based on the scientific evidence.

  • Defects inspection of commodities are very important with those design and manufacturing process and essential to strengthen the competitiveness of those. If on-line automatic defects detection is performed without damaging to products, the production cost shall be curtailed through the reducing man-power, economical management of Q.C(Quality Control). In this paper, it is suggested three spatial filtering methods which can extract the necessary information in case of defects being on the surface of object like iron plate. In addition, the dependence of filtering characteristics on parameters such as the pitch and width of slits is analyzed and the surface defect detection system is constructed. Several experiments were carried out for determining the adequate spatial filtering method through comparing and analyzing effects of parameters like defect's size and shape, intensity of light, noise of coherent source and slit number.

  • The previously developed practical inquiry activity supporting tools, deduced from the design principles and implementation principles based on the study of precedent researches and theories, applicable to conceptual learning in engineering education were implemented to an on-line learning community, a web-based Windows application, to find out its effectiveness in actual classroom situation through experimental research. The On-line learning community includes the inquiry activity menu to implement learning procedure of inquiry based conceptual learning, the functions supporting the communication among participants, the information sharing function, the scheduling function of class and inquiry activity, the mentoring function, and the evaluation of on-line activities of learners. Experimental study were also conducted in order to analyze the effects of inquiry activity supporting tools on inquiry based conceptual learning in engineering education.

Schemes for Managing Semantic Web Data in Ubiquitous Environment (유비쿼터스 환경을 고려한 시맨틱 웹 데이터 관리 기법 연구)

  • One important issue to generalize the ubiquitous paradigm is the development of user-centralized and intelligent ubiquitous computing systems. Sharing knowledge and correct communication between users and devices are needed to be aware of continuous changed context information and infer services for which users are suited. The goal of this paper is to describe and manage effectively the meaning of services or data which each device offers for interaction between users and devices based on semantic relationships and reasoning. In this paper, we represent semantic data using OWL and design a ubiquitous based intelligent system. We propose some index structures and strategies to process queries classified by each subsystem and adopt labeling schemes to identify classes and resources in the semantic data. We can find devices which satisfies various user's requests exactly and quickly using the proposed strategies.

Development of an Image Data Augmentation Apparatus to Evaluate CNN Model (CNN 모델 평가를 위한 이미지 데이터 증강 도구 개발)

  • As CNN model is applied to various domains such as image classification and object detection, the performance of CNN model which is used to safety critical system like autonomous vehicles should be reliable. To evaluate that CNN model can sustain the performance in various environments, we developed an image data augmentation apparatus which generates images that is changed background. If an image which contains object is entered into the apparatus, it extracts an object image from the entered image and generate s composed images by synthesizing the object image with collected background images. A s a method to evaluate a CNN model, the apparatus generate s new test images from original test images, and we evaluate the CNN model by the new test image. As a case study, we generated new test images from Pascal VOC2007 and evaluated a YOLOv3 model with the new images. As a result, it was detected that mAP of new test images is almost 0.11 lower than mAP of the original test images.
