In the semistructured distributed documents, it is very difficult to formalize and implement the query processing system due to the lack of structure and rule of the data. In order to precisely retrieve and process the heterogeneous semistructured documents, it is required to handle multiple mappings such as 1:1, 1:W and W:1 on an element simultaneously and to generate the schema from the distributed documents. In this paper, we have proposed an query processing algorithm for querying and answering on the heterogeneous semistructured data or documents over distributed systems and implemented with a metadata interface. The algorithm for generating local queries from the global query consists of mapping between g1oba1 and local nodes, data transformation according to the mapping types, path substitution, and resolving the heterogeneity among nodes on a global input query with metadata information. The mapping, transformation, and path substitution algorithms between the global schema and the local schemas have been implemented the metadata interface called DBXMI (for Distributed Documents XML Metadata Interface). The nodes with the same node name and different mapping or meanings is resolved by automatically extracting node identification information from the local schema automatically. The system uses Quilt as its XML query language. An experiment testing is reported over 3 different OEM model semistructured restaurant documents. The prototype system is developed under Windows system with Java and JavaCC compiler.

최근 무선 인터넷 인구의 증가로 인해 이동 객체의 위치 데이타를 활용하여 다양한 서비스를 제공하는 위치 기반 서비스와 텔레매틱스에 대찬 관심이 급증하고 있다 위치 기반 서비스와 텔레매틱스 분야에서 다양한 응용 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 대용량의 위치 데이타를 빠르고 정확하게 저장하고 검색할 수 있는 이동 객체 데이타베이스 시스템이 필수적으로 요구된다. 그러나, 기존의 데이타베이스 시스템을 사용하여 대용량의 위치 데이타를 처리할 경우 트랜잭션 연산의 증가로 인하여 저장 밀 검색 성능이 저하된다 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 이동 객체의 위치 데이타를 효율적으로 저장하고 검색하기 위한 화일 기반 이동 객체 저장 컴포넌트를 개발하고 성능 평가를 수행하였다. 화일 기반 이동 객체 저장 컴포넌트는 다중 연결 관리자, 단순 질의 처리기, 인덱스 관리자. 데이타 화일 관리자, 인덱스 파일 관리자, 메타데이타 관리자, 로그 관리자, OLE DB 데이타 제공자, 그리고 관리툴로 구성된다.

In Computer Graphics, to select the element for modeling is very important in aspect of real-time processing of photorealistic images. Especially in modeling of informal objects, the criteria of choice are such as the minimum number of data, the easy rendering technique, and the expansibility. The metaball model which is one of the methods for modeling the implicit surface is excellent in modeling the complicated surface with a few data. However, a greater number of data are required for modeling objects that consist of planar surfaces with metaballs than with polygons. In this paper, we propose the new skeletal element, metacube which has the merits of metaball and improves the modeling ability of informal objects containing planar surfaces. A metacube has two parameters to change freely its shape from the cube to the sphere and can easily do the modeling of objects with curved surfaces and plane surfaces.

본 논문에서는 지능형 방송에서 내용 기반 검색 서비스에 관해 연구하였다. 이를 통해 MPEG-7 오디오/비주얼 서술자들을 이용하여 TVAF 메타데이타와 메타데이타 전송 서비스 스키마를 확장하였다. 그리고 MPEG-7 오디오 서술자를 이용한 내용 기반 검색 시 나리에 제안된 스키마를 적용하여 효용성을 증명하였다.

현재 상용 운영체제에서 사용되고 있는 AdvFS 파일시스템은 기존의 전통 Unix 파일시스템에 비하여 On-line 확장성,부하의 균형,성능 등에서 우수함을 가지고 있다. 본 논문은 AdvFS의 메타데이타 관리방법에 대하여 기술한다, 먼저 디스크 접근 시간에서 UFS의 inode의 구조보다 우수한 새로운 BMT 구조와 빈 디스크 공간관리 방법에 대해 고찰한다.그리고 Unix File System(UFS) 보다 우수함을 성능평가를 통하여 AdvFS 구조가 성능을 향상 시킴을 보이고 있다.

정보기술과 디지털 기술의 발전에 힘입어 디지털 콘텐츠에 대한 수요가 증가하였다. 디지털 콘텐츠 중 비디오 콘텐츠는 순차적인 특성을 가지며, 시간과 공간정보가 결합된 3차원 데이타로써 처리시간이 높은 작업이기 때문에 검색이나 브라우징이 대단히 어렵다. 이러한 문제의 해결을 위하여 비디오 데이타를 구조화하는 동영상 내용 편집 도구(Authoring Tool for Video Contents)를 제안했었다. 본 논문에서는 동영상 내용 편집 도구의 연구를 확장하여, 이러한 구조화된 데이타를 이용하여 원하는 부분을 쉽게 볼 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 검색을 위한 주석의 내용까지 보여줌으로써 사용자에게 효율적으로 제공할 수 있는 브라우징을 제안한다. 메타데이타가 저장된 XML파일을 이용하여 플렉스 솔루션으로 구현하였다. 즉, 웹 어플리케이션에 플래시를 도입시킨 것으로 플래시 플레이어(Flash Player)가 동작한다면 운영체제, 브라우저, 디바이스에 대해 독립적으로 실행될 수 있으며, 인터넷 익스플로어, 파이어 폭스, PDA, 핸드폰, 위성 단말기 등 어디에서든지 인터넷으로 같은 어플리케이션을 공유할 수 있는 환경을 제공할 수 있다.

정보기술은 통신 및 멀티미디어 기술의 발전에 힘입어 빠르게 발전되고 있으며, 이에 따른 데이타베이스의 기술이 공간데이타, XML, 비디오, 음성과 같은 다양한 멀티미디어 데이터 분야에 적용되고 있다. 비디오 데이타는 순차적인 특성을 가지며, 시간과 공간정보가 결합된 3차원 데이타로서 처리시간이 높은 작업이기 때문에 검색이나 브라우징이 대단히 비효율적이다. 본 논문에서는 비주얼리듬을 이용하여 비디오 데이타에서 대표 프레임(Key Frame)을 추출한 다음 XML을 이용한 태그 및 키워드 정보를 대표 프레임에 삽입하여 검색이나 브라우징을 할 수 있는 동영상 내용편집 도구(Authoring Tool for Video Contents)를 제안한다. 비주얼리듬은 3차원의 시공간적인 정보를 2차원으로 매핑한 정보로 IDCT(inverse Discrete Cosine Transform)과정 없이 픽셀 정보를 얻을 수 있어 처리속도가 빠르며 컷, 와이프, 디졸브 등의 편집효과를 효과적으로 구분할 수 있다. 그리고 XML 데이타에는 태그 및 정보와 함께 대표 프레임의 정보까지 저장되므로 유사 화면 검색이나 내용 기반 검색을 제공할 수 있다.

현재 전국 16개 시도교육청에서는 제작한 대량의 인터넷 동영상을 서비스하고 있으나 제작 인터넷 동영상 콘텐츠의 재사용 및 공동활용을 높이기 위해서는 인터넷 동영상 개발 과정에서 필요한 효율적 콘텐츠 개발 방법과 품질관리를 포함한 콘텐츠 관리가 요구된다. 인터넷 동영상 공동 활용을 위해 다수의 정보저장소를 사용함으로 메타데이터 등록의 중복 작업이 발생하며, 이를 해결하기 위해서는 인터넷 동영상 공동 활용을 위한 시스템적인 연계가 필요하다. 이 논문에서는 인터넷 동영상 콘텐츠의 유통을 위한 인터넷 동영상 메타데이터의 역할과 요건, 그리고 교육정보 메타데이타의 특성을 살펴보고 인터넷 동영상 메타데이타 적용 원칙 및 메타데이타 필수 구성 요소를 도출하였다. 또한 인터넷 동영상 메타데이터의 전국교육정보공유체제 및 사이버가정학습서비스와 효과적으로 연계 하기 위한 모델을 제시한다

With the growth of World Wide Web, multimedia electronic documents have been frequently used in a lot of applications. Especially, digital libraries tliat deal with huge and various multimedia electronic documents need to support efficient searcli techniques and systematical management techniques. In this paper, we suggest an extended Dublin Core metadata to store and search the multimedia electronic documents managed at digital libraries. We also design a document database schema based on the extended Dublin Core metadata and implement a svstem, called xD-MMS which manages the multimedia electronic documents.
