An Error Sharing System running on Multimedia Cllaboration Environment (멀티미디어 공동 작업 환경에서 실행되는 오류 공유 시스템)

  • 본 연구에서는 멀티미디어 공동작업 환경에서 응용 소프트웨어와 미디어 등의 프로세스(Process) 요소들에 대한 오류를 미리 감지하여 오류 공유 시스템을 이용하여 신속하고 정확하게 전달하여서 복구하는데 빠르게 대처할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 감지 시에 훅킹(hooking) 방법을 이용한다. 감지된 오류는 오류 공유 시스템을 이용하여 공동 작업을 하는 다른 사용자들에게 신속히 전달하여서 오류 발생 인식을 공동으로 대처할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 오류 공유 시스템은 UDP 브로드 캐스팅 및 IP 멀티캐스팅을 지원하며 적은 부하로 LAN 및 WAN 환경에서 응용 프로그램에서의 오류를 다수의 사용자가 공유하도록 지원한다. 특히 기존의 TCP를 이용한 방법과는 달리 참여자의 수에 관계없이 일정한 전송률과 동일한 응답 시간을 보장함으로써 동시에 모든 참여자들이 같은 결과의 오류를 인식하게 되며 사용자의 수의 증가에 따른 영향을 적게 받는다.

Sink-Initiated Geographic Multicasting Protocol for Mobile Sinks in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 망에서 이동 싱크를 위한 위치기반 멀티캐스팅 프로토콜)

  • In this paper, we propose a SInk-initiated geographic Multicast (SIM) protocol to reduce frequent location updates from mobile sinks to a source and to achieve fast multicast tree construction and data delivery. The proposed protocol allows sinks to construct their own data delivery paths to a source node and a multicast tree to be atomically constructed by merging the paths. Then, the source forwards data to the destinations down the multicast tree. This paper also propose a round-based virtual infrastructure with a radial shape for increasing the merging probability of data delivery paths and reducing reconstruction ratio of the multicast tree due to mobility of sinks. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol is superior to previous SOurce-initiated geographic Multicast (SOM) protocols in term of average data delivery delay and average energy consumption.

A Fault-Tolerant Multicasting Algorithm using Region Encoding Scheme in Multistage Interconnection Networks (다단계 상호연결망에서 영역 부호화 방식을 사용하는 고장 허용 멀티캐스팅 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a fault-tolerant multicasting algorithm employing the region encoding scheme in multistage interconnection networks (MIN's) containing multiple faulty switching elements. After classifying all switching elements into two subsets with equal sizes in MIN, the proposed algorithm can tolerate the faulty pattern where every fault is contained in the same subset. In order to send a multicast message to its destinations detouring faults, the proposed algorithm uses the recursive scheme that recirculates it through MIN, We prove that this algorithm can route any multicast message in only two passes through the faulty MIN.

  • With growth of Internet, real time multimedia application services require guarantee of QoS (Quality of Service). However, the existing Internet based on best-effort service is not enough to support those services, so MARS model to support IP multicast over ATM networks and RSVP to provide heterogeneous QoS by resource reservation scheme are proposed. As a simulation result, it is proved that processing delay of MARS is increased and success of resource reservation is decreased as a number of QoS change request of a receiver is increased. Therefore, it is important to provide heterogeneous QoS that distribute a load of MARS caused by convergence of messages and efficiently manage the resource of network as to find out scale of receivers and frequency of QoS change request.

  • Through the increment of group oriented application services, the multicast communication in wire/wireless network has become a widely discussed researching topic. However solution for security, efnciency and scaleability of a multicast communications are not enough to be satisfactory. Tn this paper, we Propose a new secure, efficient and scalable multicasting protocols to provide a integrated multicast service. Our protocol is an authenticated key establishment protocol which has been designed specifically for use with low powered computationally weak equipment such as Cellular phone and PDA(Personal Digital Assistant).

LFH: Low-Cost and Fast Handoff Scheme in Proxy Mobile IPv6 Networks with Multicasting Support (프록시 모바일 IPv6 네트워크에서 멀티캐스팅을 지원하는 저비용의 빠른 이동성관리 기법)

  • With the recent advancements in various wireless communication technologies, the importance of mobile multicasting is coming to the fore, in an effort to use network resources more efficiently. In the past, when various mobile IP-based multicast techniques were proposed, the focus was put on the costs needed for network delivery for providing multicast services, as well as on minimizing the multicast handover delay. For techniques using MIPv6 (Mobile IPv6), a host-based mobility management protocol, however, it is fundamentally difficult to resolve the problems of handover delay and tunnel convergence. To resolve these problems, a network-based mobility management protocol called PMIPv6 (Proxy Mobile IPv6) was standardized. Although performance is improved in PMIPv6 over MIPv6, it still suffers from the problems of handover delay and tunnel convergence. In this paper, to overcome these limitations, a technique called LFH (Low-cost and Fast Handoff) is proposed for fast and low-cost mobility management with multicasting support in PMIPv6 networks. To reduce the interactions between the complex multicast routing protocol and the multicast messages, a simplified proxy method called MLD (Multicast Listener Discovery) is implemented and modified. Furthermore, a TCR (Tunnel Combination and Reconstruction) algorithm was used in the multicast handover procedure within the LMA (Local Mobility Anchor) domain, as well as in the multicast handover procedure between domains, in order to overcome the problem of tunnel convergence. As a result, it was found that LFH has reduced multicast delay compared to other types of multicast techniques, and that it requires lower costs as well.
