Hybrid open networking stack for low-power multi-hop network protocol (개방형 혼합 네트워크를 이용한 저전력 멀티-홉 네트워크 프로토콜)

  • HONS(Hybrid Open Networking Stack) 는 다양한 무선 센서들을 하나의 네트워크로 서비스할 수 있는 시스템이다. IEEE 802.15.4 표준의 Open 패킷 구조를 정의하여, 다양한 센서를 저전력 멀티-홉 네트워크로 구성할 수 있다. HONS 네트워크는 라우터와 무선 센서로 구성된다. 라우터는 전원을 사용하여 멀티-홉 네트워크의 기본 백본을 형성하며, 무선 센서는 배터리로 저전력 동작을 하여, 라우터가 구성하는 멀티-홉 네트워크에 참여한다.

  • 무선 센서 네트워크 시스템을 이용한 많은 응용 시스템이 연구되고 있는 가운데, 최근 무선 센서 네트워크 시스템의 신뢰성 확보에 대한 문제점이 대두되었다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 영상 데이터를 전송함으로써 보다 신뢰성 있는 정보를 제공할 수 있는 멀티미디어 센서 네트워크에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 영상 데이터를 저속의 멀티 홉 무선 센서 네트워크 환경에서 효율적으로 전송하는 프로토콜에 관련된 연구는 비교적 많지 않다. 지금까지의 통신 프로토콜들은 비교적 단순한 센싱 데이터를 전송할 수 있도록 설계되었으며, 새로운 응용들을 지원하기 위해서는 새로운 통신 프로토콜이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 연속적인 영상 데이터를 멀티 홉 환경에서 효율적으로 전송할 수 있는 다중 경로 간 간섭이 없는 간섭 회피 다중 경로 설정 기법을 제안한다.

  • Wireless sensor networks (WSN) consisting of a largenumber of sensors aims to gather data in a variety of environments and is beingused and applied in many different fields. The sensor nodes composing a sensornetwork operate on battery of limited power and as a result, high energyefficiency and long network lifetime are major goals of research in the WSN. Inthis paper we propose a novel cluster-based local multi-hop routing protocolthat enhances the overall energy efficiency and guarantees reliability in thesystem. The proposed protocol minimizes energy consumption for datatransmission among sensor nodes by forming a multi-hop in the cluster.Moreover, through local cluster head rotation scheme, it efficiently manageswaste of energy caused by frequent formation of clusters which was an issue inthe existing methods. Simulation results show that our scheme enhances energyefficiency and ensure longer network time in the sensor network as comparedwith existing schemes such as LEACH, LEACH-C and PEACH.

  • Recently, a variety of research of multi-hop routing protocol have been done to balance the sensor node energy consumption of WSN(wireless sensor network) and to improve the node efficiency for extending the life of the entire network. Especially in multi-hop protocol, a variety of models have been concerned to improve energy efficiency and apply in the reality. In multi-hop protocol, we assumption that energy consumption can be adjusted based on the distance between the sensor nodes. However, according to the physical property of the actual WSN, it's hard to establish this assumption. In this dissertation, we propose low-power sub-cluster protocol to improve the energy efficiency based on the spread of distance. Compared with the previous protocols, this proposed protocol can be effectively used in the wireless sensing networks.

  • Generally, It is indispensible to use an ISP(In System Programming) tool for upgrading, patching, or changing the system software of the each sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks. While under a small number of nodes, the upgrading task is not a serious burden, however if there are a large number of nodes to be updated, the task is almost impossible to do for the given constrains such as limited budgets and resources. Based on this observation, in this paper we have proposed a novel upgrading scheme based on a single hop in IEEE 802.15.4 PAN(Personal Area Network)s. Simulation results have shown the scheme outcomes the conventional methods in the performance measures.

  • In an wireless sensor network, energy efficient routing protocol is important for multi-hop transmission because senor nodes are powered by battery. In multi-hop transmission, specifice nodes are used and the battery power becomes low, it induce the asymetric remaining power among the nodes and makes the network lifetime reduced. In this paper, we propose a power-aware routing protocol which determines the routing path considering the remaining power of the nodes. Simulation results shows that the proposed routing scheme minimize the transmission delay and increase the network lifetime.

  • 센서 네트워크에서의 네트워크 리프로그래밍은 무선 통신을 통해 센서 노드에서 수행되는 소프트웨어를 변경하는 것으로서, 이를 사용하면 센서 네트워크를 구성하는 수백 개 혹은 수천 개의 노드들의 소프트웨어를 효과적으로 변경시킬 수 있다. 현재 네트워크 리프로그래밍을 위해 XNP, MNP. MOAP, Deluge, Mate 및 Incremental 기법 등이 제안되어 왔지만 아직 만족할만한 방법은 찾아보기 힘든 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 멀티홉을 지원하는 Deluge에 Incremental 기법을 통합하여 효율적인 리프로그래밍 기법을 구현하였다. 제안된 기법은 TinyOS 1.1.14 버전에 구현되었으며, 이를 통해서 네트워크 리프로그래밍을 위해 요구되는 패킷의 수와 소요시간을 크게 단축시킬 수 있다. 또한 센서 노드에서 패킷 전송에 따른 전력소 모가 가장 큰 점을 고려할 때 본 연구에서 제안하는 방식을 사용하면 센서 노드의 전력소모량도 크게 감소시킬 수 있는 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

  • Research advances in the areas of micro-sensor device and wireless network technology, has made it possible to develop energy efficient and low cost wireless sensor nodes. In this paper, the forward error control (FEC) scheme for lower power consumption and excellent BER(Bit Error Rate) performance during transmission propose in multi-hop wireless sensor network based on FSK modem. The FEC technique uses extra processing power related to encoding and decoding, it is need complex functions to be built into the sensor node. The probability of receiving a correct bit and codeword for relaying a frame over h nodes to the sink node is calculated as a function of channel parameter, number of hops, number of bits transmitted and the distance between the different nodes.

  • Efficient routing algorithm is required to transmit data from source to destination by multi-hop transmission in wireless sensor networks. In the multi-hop transmission, multipath routing can be one of the solutions to cope with the traffic congestion and unstable link condition. In this paper, we propose partial multipath routing which does not establish a secondary full routing path but a partial multipath to complement some poor links, and it can enable stable data transmission and reduce the number of nodes in routing path and the required total power compared with conventional multipath routing.
