This paper presents an audio decoder architecture which can decode AC-3 and MPEG-2 audio bit-streams efficiently. MPEG-2 synthesis filtering is modified by the 32-point FFT to share the common data path with the AC-3's. A programmable Audio DSP core and a hardwired common synthesis tilter are incorporated for effective decoding of two different formats.

For interchange of multimedia informations and presentation as intented by objects composer, there are need to interchange format of informations and control synchronization between medias. And It is therefore need to provide a method and apparatus for synchroniztion control of multimedia objects which can control the conditional, temporal. and spatial synchronization in a MHEG engine developed to execute the functions defined as the international standards. In this paper. We propose to improved method and apparatus for synchronization control of multimedia objects which can execute the synchronized presentation by combining media data needed for presentation of multimedia information, and which enable the interactive processing between the user and the MHEG engine by allowing the user input to be processed during presentation.

Hypermedia system supports associative linking concept for multimedia information using link and node concept, and overcomes the limitations of database system and text retrieval system in some application areas. This study shows the design and implementation of a hypermedia system which supports text, graphics, image and voice /sound information. This system has been designed to integrate the browsing and searching functions of the hypermedia system for efficient multimedia information retrieval and user-interface. To demonstrate the function and capability of the system, an application was made in the area of Bible and related information.

In this paper, we design MHEG engine that can generate MHEG objects and present It to the users in Multimedia/Hypermedia Applications In the MHEG engine, the transmitted MHEG objects decoded into internal format. For the easy interpretation of MHEG objects, we define internal format as to be matched for each MHEG object. We easily processobjectinformation using the tree data structure because object inheritance and possession can be represented in tree structure. Object inheritance and possession must be represented in the internal format because they used in resolving the reference to external objector data file. The presentation synchronization extracts the synchronization information from MHEG composite objects, representing and controlling heterogencous media associated to spatio- temporal relation. In order to exactly represent the spatio-temporal synchronization included into MHEG composite object, we propose the algorithm that processes synchronization using the message of the synchronization module and the internal objects. MHEG engine proposed in this paper may be basic technology fro multimedia application area using Korea New Net.
