  • Companies and consumers are highly interested in online activities such as word-of-mouth(W.O.M) as marketing paradigm moved to online context. In this study, the research identified major variables affecting product review reference rate online and analyzed the difference based on those variables. According to the results, remarkable differences were discovered in four variable such as 'brand reference', 'review symbol', 'affirmation' and 'information offering'. In addition, the researcher found 'brand reference' and 'information offering' are most important factors deciding review reference rate using regression tree analysis method. Based on the results, the practical implications and further research directions for utilizing consumer online W.O.M were discussed.

  • This paper proposes a new structural head-related transfer function(HRTF) model to produce sounds in a virtual environment. The proposed HRTF model generates 3-D sounds by using a head model, a pinna model and the proposed distance model for azimuth, elevation, and distance that are three aspects for 3-D sounds, respectively. In particular, the proposed distance model consists of level normalization block distal region model, and proximal region model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we setup an experimental procedure that each listener identifies a distance of 3-D sound sources that are generated by the proposed method with a predefined distance. It is shown from the tests that the proposed model provides an average distance error of $0.13{\sim}0.31$ meter when the sound source is generated as if it is 0.5 meter $\sim$ 2 meters apart from the listeners. This result is comparable to the average distance error of the human listening for the actual sound source.

  • A pillow was fabricated through CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) and 3D printing, which can adjust automatically the height of the pillow when lying sideways and backwards according to the sleeping posture. The target height difference of the pillow was about 1.0 cm ~ 1.5 cm when the head weight difference was about 1.2 kg. Instead of using a complex mechanical device, it was based on an arch structure made of TPU. From the simulation, the optimum model was designed through series combination and the results were compared with the experimental ones. The final product had a height difference of about 2 cm according to the lying posture.

  • This paper develops a finite element model for studying the occupant behavior and injury cofficients of a large-sized cab-over type truck. Since it does not have a room to absorb collision energy and deformation in front of the passenger compartment the deformation is directly transmitted to the passenger compartment. Moreover, since its steering column is attached on the frame, severe deformation of the frame directly affects on the steering wheel's movement. Therefore, if the occupant behavior and injury coefficients analysis is performed using a finite element model developed based on a sled test, it is very difficult to expect acquiring satisfactory results. Thus, the finite element model developing in this paper is based on the frontal crash test in order to overcome the inherent problems of the sled test based model commonly used in the passenger car. The occupant behavior and injury coefficients analysis is performed using PAM-CRASH installed in super-computer SP2. In order to validate the reliability of the developed finite element model, a frontal crash test is carried out according to a test method used fur developing truck occupant's secondary safety system in european community and japan. That is, test vehicle's collision direction is vertical to the rigid barrier and collision velocity is 45kph. Thus, measured vehicle pulses at the lower parts of the left and right B-pilla., dummy chest and head deceleration profiles, HIC(head injury criterial) and CA(chest acceleration) values, and dummy behavior from the frontal crash test are compared to the analysis results to validate reliability of the developed model.

  • In this study, a front suspension system, which is mounted on the handle itself, was suggested because of its light weight and cost efficiency. The shock absorption was evaluated for the three types of suspension models; non-suspension, suspension on front forks (existing model), and suspension on handle (suggested model). The human body model was used for performing impact simulation for comparing the shock absorption for the suspension models. The result of the simulation shows that shock absorption for the proposed suspension model was not as good as that for the front fork suspension model. Nevertheless, the shock absorption observed for the proposed suspension model was significant when compared to the non-suspension model. Consequently, the proposed suspension model could be applied to lightweight bicycles.

  • There are four types of human beings according to the Sasang Typology, Oriental medical doctors frequently prescribe healthcare information and treatment depending on one's type, The feature ratios (Table 1) on the human face are the most important criterions to decide which type a patient is. In this paper, we proposed a system to extract these feature ratios from the people's side face, There are two challenges in acquiring the feature ratio: one that selecting representative features; the other, that detecting region of interest from human profile facial image effectively and calculating the feature ratio accurately. In our system, an adaptive color model is used to separate human side face from background, and the method based on geometrical model is designed for region of interest detection. Then we present the error analysis caused by image variation in terms of image size and head pose, To verify the efficiency of the system proposed in this paper, several experiments are conducted using about 173 korean's left side facial photographs. Experiment results shows that the accuracy of our system is increased 17,99% after we combine the front face features with the side face features, instead of using the front face features only.

  • We propose a robust tracking method that combines the merits of ACM(active contour model) and the color-based PF(particle filter), effectively. In the proposed method, PF and ACM track the color distribution and the contour of the target, respectively, and Decision part merges the estimate results from the two trackers to determine the position and scale of the target and to update the target model. By controlling the internal energy of ACM based on the estimate of the position and scale from PF tracker, we can prevent the snake pointers from falsely converging to the background clutters. We appled the proposed method to track the head of person in video and have conducted computer experiments to analyze the errors of the estimated position and scale.

  • In this paper, we introduce a probabilistic model based on Bayesian networks (BNs) for inferring human fatigue by integrating information from various visual cues and certain relevant contextual information. Visual parameters, typically characterizing the cognitive states of a person including parameters related to eyelid movement, gaze, head movement, and facial expression, serve as the sensory observations. But, an individual visual cue or contextual Information does not provide enough information to determine human fatigue. Therefore in this paper, a Bayesian network model was developed to fuse as many as possible contextual and visual cue information for monitoring human fatigue. At the experiment results, display the utility of the proposed BNs for predicting and modeling fatigue.

  • At the Brain MRI examination, RF Pulse are irradiated on the human head in order to acquire MR images. At this time, a considerable part of the irradiated RF Pulse energy is absorbed in our body and the temperature of the human head will rise depending on the degree of exposure, so it will affect the human head. Even if the same RF Pulse energy is given, if the metal is inserted in the human head, the conductivity of the human head is greatly increased by the metal, so the SAR value increases and the temperature also rises. Therefore, we started this research with the question as to whether there is difference between the change in SAR value and temperature displayed on the head of the human according to use or not of the dental implant. Experiments were using the XFDTD program on a 128 MHz RF Pulse frequency by a 3.0 tesla MRI. We can see that both are increasing that the average value of SAR and temperature that absorbed by the human head model used the dental implant. In addition, the average maximum SAR value and the maximum temperature rise in the brain part are shown below the international safety standard value but the influence can not be ignored because of the result may change according to the increase in the number of dental implant. And as future tasks. we need to the simulation of temperature rise and SAR due to an increase in the number of implants and volumes of teeth, dental implant material.
