A Method for Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction Using Optimization (최적화방법을 이용한 보행자 충돌사고 재현기법 개발)

  • As the number of pedestrian accident increases, the reconstruction of an accident becomes important to find the source of the fault. Generally, accidents are reconstructed by the intuition of experts or primitive physics. A reconstruction method is proposed using sophisticated optimization technology. At first, a dynamic simulation model is established for the accident environment. Occupant analysis for automobile crashworthiness is employed. The situation before an accident is identified by optimization. The impact velocity and the position of the pedestrian are utilized as design variables. The design variables are found by minimizing the difference between the simulation and the real accident. The optimization process is performed by linking an occupant analysis program MADYMO to an optimization program VisualDOC. Since the involved analysis is dynamics and highly nonlinear, response surface method is selected for the optimization process. Problems are solved for various situations.

Localizing Head and Shoulder Line Using Statistical Learning (통계학적 학습을 이용한 머리와 어깨선의 위치 찾기)

  • Associating the shoulder line with head location of the human body is useful in verifying, localizing and tracking persons in an image. Since the head line and the shoulder line, what we call ${\Omega}$-shape, move together in a consistent way within a limited range of deformation, we can build a statistical shape model using Active Shape Model (ASM). However, when the conventional ASM is applied to ${\Omega}$-shape fitting, it is very sensitive to background edges and clutter because it relies only on the local edge or gradient. Even though appearance is a good alternative feature for matching the target object to image, it is difficult to learn the appearance of the ${\Omega}$-shape because of the significant difference between people's skin, hair and clothes, and because appearance does not remain the same throughout the entire video. Therefore, instead of teaming appearance or updating appearance as it changes, we model the discriminative appearance where each pixel is classified into head, torso and background classes, and update the classifier to obtain the appropriate discriminative appearance in the current frame. Accordingly, we make use of two features in fitting ${\Omega}$-shape, edge gradient which is used for localization, and discriminative appearance which contributes to stability of the tracker. The simulation results show that the proposed method is very robust to pose change, occlusion, and illumination change in tracking the head and shoulder line of people. Another advantage is that the proposed method operates in real time.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간으로 사람의 움직임을 캡쳐한 영상으로부터 추출된 end-effector의 3차원 위치정보를 이용하여 중간관절의 위치를 생성하는 방법에 대해 기술한다. 이 시스템은 동작자의 좌, 우 전방에 위치한 동기화된 2대의 컬러 CCD 카메라로부터 입력된 스테레오 영상을 분석하여 신체의 중심이 되는 루트와 머리, 손, 발과 같은 end-effector의 특징점을 추출하여 3차원 위치정보를 생성한다. 생성된 루트와 end-effector의 위치정보를 역운동학 알고리듬에 적용하고, 인체 관절의 해부학적인 제약조건을 고려하여 중간관절의 위치를 정밀하게 계산한다. 중간관절의 위치를 생성하므로서 동작자의 모든 관절의 움직임 정보를 실시간으로 획득이 가능하며, 모션데이터로 생성할 수 있으므로 게임이나 애니메이션등 다양한 멀티미디어 분야에서 이용할 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 마커프리 모션캡쳐 시스템으로 캡쳐된 동작자의 Root와 End-effector 위치 데이터를 이용하여 가상 캐릭터의 동작을 생성하는 방법에 0해 기술한다. 동작자의 신체중심이 되는 Root와 머리, 손, 발과 같은 End-effector의 위치 데이터는 동작자의 전방 좌, 우에 위치한 동기화된 2대의 컬러 CCD 카메라를 이용하여 3차원 위치를 캡쳐한다. 영상으로부터 추출되지 않은 중간관절의 위치를 생성하기 위해 Root와 End-effector의 3차원 위치값들을 IK( Inverse Kinematics) 알고리듬에 적용하고, 생성된 위치값들에 다양한 신체의 제약조건을 고려하여 정밀하게 계산한다. 이러한 과정을 거치므로 서 20개 관절의 위치값을 생성할 수 있으며, 생성된 관절의 위치값을 가상 캐릭터에 적용하므로 서 캐릭터의 움직임을 실시간으로 생성할 수 있다.

Anchorage Strength of High Strength Headed Bar Embedded Vertically on SFRC Members (SFRC 부재에 수직 배근된 고강도 확대머리철근의 정착강도)

  • The paper is a summary of the results of the basic pullout test which is conducted to evaluate the anchorage capacity of high strength headed bars that is mechanical anchored vertically on steel fiber reinforced concrete members. The main experimental parameters are volume fraction of steel fiber, concrete strength, anchorage length, yield strength of headed bars, and shear reinforcement bar. Both sides of covering depth of the specimen are planned to double the diameter of the headed bars. The hinged point is placed at the position of each 1.5𝑙dt and 0.7𝑙dt around the headed bars, and the headed bars are drawn directly. As a result of pullout test experiment, concrete fracture and steel tensile rupture appear by experimental parameters. The compressive strength of concrete is 2.7~5.4% higher than that of steel fiber with the same parameters, while the pullout strength is 20.9~63.1% higher than that of steel fiber without the same parameters, which is evaluated to contribute greatly to the improvement of the anchorage capacity. The reinforcements of shear reinforcements parallel to the headed bars increased 1.7~7.7% pullout strength for steel fiber reinforced concrete, but the effect on the improvement of the anchorage capacity was not significant considering the increase in concrete strength. As with the details of this experiment, it is believed that the design formula for the anchorage length of KCI2017and KCI2012 are suitable for the mechanical development design of SD600 head bar that is perpendicular to the steel fiber reinforced concrete members.

A Convergence Study on Changes in the Muscle Activity around the Neck of the Operator according to the Patient's Head Angle at the Direct Visual Inspection of the Maxillary Right-side Molar Palatal Surface (상악 우측 대구치 구개면의 직접 시진 시 환자 머리 각도에 따른 술자의 목 주변 근육활성도 변화의 융합적 연구)

  • This study aimed to investigate the association of the muscle activity around the neck of the operator(dental hygienists') according to the change in the patient's neck angle during a direct visual inspection on the maxillary right-side molar palatal surface. The operators were $4^{th}$ year dental hygiene students, who are future dentalhy gienists, having accurate understanding on and awareness of the location of the operation site, hand fixation, and how to use the tools. Data on the change in the muscle activity around the neck were collected by using surface electromyography and neck goniometer. SPSS statistics 20 was used for statistical analyses including Shapiro-wilk test and one-way ANOVA. As a result, the activities of the operator upper trapezius, cervical erector spinae, and levator scapulae muscles significantly decreased when the patient's head was angled compared to when it was not. For the angle of the operator head, the head bend significantly decreased when the patient's head was angled than when it was not. Based on the study results, it is expected that angling the patient's head when treating his or her teeth will decrease the excessive muscle activity around the neck of the operator, and will reduce muscle fatigue. Therefore, angling the head of the patient while treating his or her teeth is recommended. This suggests that muscle pain caused by repetitive actions in the wrong posture can be reduced.

On the Physical and Perceptual Precision of the Multi-point Control Method in HRTF Simulation (다점제어를 이용한 머리전달함수의 모의에 있어서의 물리적 모의정도와 청감상의 모의정도)

  • Sound localization can be controlled by simulating the transfer functions from sound source to listener's ears. Even by using this method. a good performance cannot be expected when a listener slightly moves from the position where the transfer functions were measured. We have already been proposed the multi-point control method to overcome the problem of the listener's small movement. In this method, the transfer functions are simulated at multiple points around the listner's ears so that the points forms an area which covers the small movement of the listener. In this paper. we investigated the effect of applying multi-point control method for the control of sound localization. Results show that multi-point control is effective to keep the perceptual error of the localized direction small when the listener moves up to 6 cm from the original position.

Improvement of 3D Sound Using Psychoacoustic Characteristics (인간의 청각 특성을 이용한 입체음향의 방향감 개선)

  • The Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) means a process related to acoustic transmission from 3d space to the listener's ear. In other words, it contains the information that human can perceive locations of sound sources. So, we make virtual 3d sound using HRTF, despite it doesn't actually exist. But, it can deteriorate some three-dimensional effect by the confusion between front and back directions due to the non-individual HRTF depending on each listener. In this paper, we proposed the new algorithm to reduce the confusion of sound image localization using human's acoustic characteristics. The frequency spectrum and global masking threshold of 3d sounds using HRTF are used to calculate the psychoacoustical differences among each directions. And perceptible cues in each critical band are boosted to create effective 3d sound. As a result, we can make the improved 3d sound, and the performances are much better than conventional methods.

Designing FMH Impact-Absorbing Structure by Using Subcomponent Collapse Simulation (단품 압궤 시뮬레이션을 이용한 FMH 충격흡수부재의 설계방법에 관한 연구)

  • It is requested that the interior compartment of a passenger vehicle must be satisfied with the FMVSS201U regulation, FMH impact test. It is needed the design methodology to find the appropriate structure about the FMH impact. When designing the impact-absorbing structure for the FMH impact test, it is to be noted that the impact absorber must have different performance considering the stiffness of the vehicle as the impact position and approach angle of FMH. In this study, an efficient design methodology was developed by using subcomponent collapse simulation instead of conducting full-vehicle simulation, thereby reducing the time and resources spent. Further, this unit-model simulation helps optimize the impact absorbing structure.

Estimating Facial Feature Position with Matched Filters (Matched Filter를 이용한 얼굴 특징점 위치추출)

  • 이 논문은 Matched Filter 기술을 사용해 얼굴 특징점 위치를 추출하는 연구에 대해서 기술한다. 기본 목표는 얼굴의 서로 다른 8개( 양쪽 눈과 눈썹, 머리선, 코, 입, 턱 )의 부분을 구분할 수 있는 필터들을 개발하는 것이다. 이런 Matched Filter는 Fourier 역변환을 사용해 훈련영상(Training Image)으로부터 얻을 수 있다. 실험평가는 베른대학의 얼굴 데이터베이스에 근거한다. 우리는 여기서 다양한 얼굴의 방향성에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있도록 하는 훈련 영상자료가 무엇인지 알 수 있다. 그리고 안경을 썼을 때 얼굴을 인식할 수 있는 가장 좋은 방법도 알아본다.
