  • The fundamental goal of this study is to analyze characteristics of combined relations of formative element factors that compose robot's face based on a result of preference response from robot's design. Also, in order to improve preference from the analysis result, this study intended to inquire into possibilities of suggesting design guideline. For these, pictures of 27 different kinds of robot faces were selected as experimental stimuli, and experiments of preference response and association response were performed. As a result of the experiments, various characteristics were achieved such as robot's eye shape having greater influences than facial structure, etc. Based on the result, formative element factor characteristics that could positively influence preference response on robot's face could be drawn and a basic design guideline could also be suggested. An eye should be oval so that the length-to-width ratio may be 1.67:1. The distance between both eyes should be 35% of the facial width. Also, eyes should be above the central latitude of the face so that they may be visually stable. It is advisable to round the face generally. Eyes should be harmonious with the face so that the robot may seem cute and charming.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic materials for amateur golf players or golf maniacs to learn desirable iron swing motions. This study compared and analyzed the swing motions of iron clubs(3, 6, 9) by using 3-D in three elite golf players. 1. There was no a great difference in the total of swing time by club and the time by phase was nearly similar. 2. There was no a difference in the change in a head location at address and impact by club. 3. The angle change in a right knee joint was similar by club except the difference according to the length of the club. 4. There was a subtle difference in hip rotation angle by club. 5. In each club, the same rotation angle of shoulder joint at address and impact motions contributed to accurate swing, and the maintenance of more than $90^{\circ}$ of shoulder rotation angle in top swing increased swing rotation. 6. Although subtle, the forward angle of upper body was increased with a shorter club. $30-36^{\circ}$ of forward angle of upper body was maintained at address, top swing, and impact motions.

  • This paper aims at developing 'gyro-mouse' which provides decent and comfortable human-computer interface that supports the usage of such software as an internet-browser in PC for the people paralyzed in upper limbs. This interface operates on information collected from head movement to get the cursor control. The interface is composed of two modules. One is hardware module in which the head horizontal and vertical angular velocities are detected and transmitted into PC. The other is a PC software that translates the received data into movement and click signals of the mouse. The ANN (artificial neural network) learns the quick nodding pattern of each user as click input so that it can provide user-friendly interface. The performance of the system was evaluated by three indices that are click recognition rate. error in cursor position control. and click rate of the moving target box. The performance result of the gyro-mouse was compared with that of the optical-mouse to assess the efficiency of the gyro-mouse. The average click recognition rate was 93%, average error in cursor position control was 1.4∼5 times of optical mouse. and the click rate with 50 pixels target box was 40%(30 clicks/min) to that of optical mouse. The click rate increased monotonously with the number of trial from 35% to 44%. The suggested system is expected to provide a new possibility to communicate with the society.

  • Light microscope, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy were used to investigate the fine structure of sperm of the Korea squirrel, Tamias sibiricus. The sperm head of T. sibiricus was paddle in shape. The total length of T. sibiricus sperm was 67.8 ${\mu}m$. The length of sperm head was 7.8 ${\mu}m$, and the tail (60.0 ${\mu}m$) was consisted of four major segments: the neck (1.0 ${\mu}m$), middle (8.0 ${\mu}m$), principal (48.5 ${\mu}m$) and end piece (2.5 ${\mu}m$), respectively. Especially, the length of the middle piece is short, and end piece was very shorter than those of other rodents. The post-nuclear cap was occupied about a fifth of nucleus. The equatorial segment is located between the post-nuclear cap segment and acrosomal cap on the nuclear surface. Nine segmented columns were surrounded by the mitochondria, and numbers of gyres of mitochondria were 26. One segmented column was consisted ten to twelve knobs, and each of segmented column in the neck region connected with the nine outer dense fiber in the middle piece. Numerous satellite-like fibers were scattered around the segmented columns. Nos. 1, 5 and 6 of the outer dense fibers in the middle piece were larger than the others. A fibrous sheath and longitudinal column of the principal piece were in evidence, but the fibrous sheath and longitudinal column was not seen at the end piece. In conclusion, the structural features of sperm head and tail may be useful information to patterns of sperm evolution and classification of species.

  • This study evaluates the performance of image to patient registration algorithm by using stereo vision and CT image for facial region surgical navigation. For the process of image to patient registration, feature extraction and 3D coordinate calculation are conducted, and then 3D CT image to 3D coordinate registration is conducted. Of the five combinations that can be generated by using three facial feature extraction methods and three registration methods on stereo vision image, this study evaluates the one with the highest registration accuracy. In addition, image to patient registration accuracy was compared by changing the facial rotation angle. As a result of the experiment, it turned out that when the facial rotation angle is within 20 degrees, registration using Active Appearance Model and Pseudo Inverse Matching has the highest accuracy, and when the facial rotation angle is over 20 degrees, registration using Speeded Up Robust Features and Iterative Closest Point has the highest accuracy. These results indicate that, Active Appearance Model and Pseudo Inverse Matching methods should be used in order to reduce registration error when the facial rotation angle is within 20 degrees, and Speeded Up Robust Features and Iterative Closest Point methods should be used when the facial rotation angle is over 20 degrees.

  • This study measures the additional dose for each treatment area using kV X-ray based OBI (On-Board Imager) and CBCT (Cone-Beam CT), which have excellent spatial resolution and contrast, and evaluates the adequacy and stability of radiation management aspects of IGRT. The subjects of the experiment were examined with OBI and CBCT attached to a linear accelerator (Clinac IX), and ring-shaped Halcyon CBCT under imaging conditions for each treatment area, and the dose at the center was measured using an ion chamber. OBI single fraction dose was measured as 0.77 mGy in the head area, 3.04 mGy in the chest area, and 7.19 mGy in the pelvic area. The absorbed doses from the two devices, Clinac IX CBCT and Halcyon CBCT, were measured to be similar in the pelvic area, at 70.04 mGy and 70.45 mGy. and in chest CBCT, the Clinac IX absorbed dose (70.05 mGy) was higher than the Halcyon absorbed dose (21.01 mGy). The absorbed dose to the head area was also higher than that of Clinac IX (9.08 mGy) and Halcyon (5.44 mGy). In kV X-ray-based IGRT, additional radiation exposure due to photoelectric absorption may affect the overall volume of the treatment area, and caution is required.

  • Purpose: Positron emission tomography scan has been growing diagnostic equipment in the development of medical imaging system. Compare to $^{99m}Tc$ emitting 140 keV, Positron emission radionuclide emits 511 keV gamma rays. Because of this high energy, it needs to reduce radioactive emitting from patients for radiotechnologist. We searched the external dose rates by changing distance from patients and measure the external dose rates when we used shielder investigate change external dose rates. In this study, the external dose distribution were analyzed in order to help managing radiation protection of radiotechnologists. Materials and Methods: Ten patients were searched (mean age: $47.7{\pm}6.6$, mean height: $165.5{\pm}3.8$ cm and mean weight: $65.9{\pm}1.4$ kg). Radiation were measured on the location of head, chest, abdomen, knees and toes at the distance of 10, 50, 100, 150 and 200 cm. Then, all the procedure was given with a portable radiation shielding on the location of head, chest and abdomen at the distance of 100, 150 and 200 cm and transmittance was calculated. Results: In 10 cm, head (105.40 ${\mu}Sv/h$) was the highest and foot (15.85 ${\mu}Sv/h$) was the lowest. In 200 cm, head, chest and abdomen showed similar. On head, the measured dose rates were 9.56 ${\mu}Sv/h$, 5.23 ${\mu}Sv/h$, and 3.40 ${\mu}Sv/h$ in 100, 150 and 200 cm respectively. When using shielder, it shows 2.24 ${\mu}Sv/h$, 1.67 ${\mu}Sv/h$, and 1.27 ${\mu}Sv/h$ in 100, 150 and 200 cm on head. On chest, the measured dose rates were 8.54 ${\mu}Sv/h$, 4.90 ${\mu}Sv/h$, 3.44 ${\mu}Sv/h$ in 100, 150 and 200 cm, respectively. When using shielder, it shows 2.27 ${\mu}Sv/h$, 1.34 ${\mu}Sv/h$, and 1.13 ${\mu}Sv/h$ in 100, 150 and 200 cm on chest. On abdomen, the measured dose rates were 9.83 ${\mu}Sv/h$, 5.15 ${\mu}Sv/h$ and 3.18 ${\mu}Sv/h$ in 100, 150 and 200cm respectively. When using shielder, it shows 2.60 ${\mu}Sv/h$, 1.75 ${\mu}Sv/h$ and 1.23 ${\mu}Sv/h$ in 100, 150 and 200 cm on abdomen. Transmittance was increased as the distance was expanded. Conclusion: As the distance was further, the radiation dose were reduced. When using shielder, the dose were reduced as one-forth of without shielder. The Radio technologists are exposed of radioactivity and there were limitations on reducing the distance with Therefore, the proper shielding will be able to decrease radiation dose to the radiotechnologists.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether or not there was artifact when the upper limb could not be lifted to the top of the head during multi-detector computed tomography(MDCT) scans of the chest and abdomen. Contrast radiography of the human and chest phantom was performed with 128channal MDCT. Under the same conditions(120 kVp, 110 mAs, standard algorithm)both hands lifted up and put down each time in the human experiment. In the chest phantom experiment, the radiography was carried out when the upper limb phantom was adjusted at a certain distance(0, 3, 7 cm) from the chest phantom. Subsequently, the values of Noise, CT number, SNR, and CNR were measured in the field of concern. The noise value of fat, rib, and muscle increased when the arm was lifted in humans(0.79, 47.8, 27%). Furthermore, when the upper limb was lowered, the noise value of muscle and lung increased in the phantom(31.2, 9.4%). In addition, the noise value of the muscles and lung decreased by 5, 25.12% and 5.6, 15.35% as the upper limb moved about 0,3,7cm away from the chest. When the chest and abdominal radiography were performed, in the case of the presence of other parts outside the inspection area, the probability of artifact was minimal while the distance was more than 3cm away from the upper limb to the chest and abdomen.
