소 모기매개 바이러스성 질병의 예방과 대책

  • 최근에 소의 밀집사육, 빈번한 이동, 인건비상승에 따른 관리인력 부족 등으로 인해 과거에 비해 각종 질병의 발생이 증가되고 있으며 그중에서도 전염성 질병의 발생이 증가하고 있다. 또한 빠른 우군교체에 따라 과거에 비해 소들의 질병발생형태가 많이 변하고 있다. 소의 질병중 특히 바이러스성 질병은 근본적인 치료약제가 없기 때문에 한번 발생하면 빠르게 다른 지역으로 전파되는 경향이 있으며 소의 생산성저하를 야기시키는 가장 큰 원인이 되고 있다. 이러한 소의 바이러스성 질병은 IBR, BVD, PI-3감염증 등의 호흡기 질병, rotavirus, coronavirus감염증과 같은 소화기 질병 그리고 모기매개 바이러스에 의한 질병으로 크게 분류 할 수 있다. 특히 최근들어 모기매개 바이러스성 질병이 크게 문제시 되고 있으며 이들 질병으로 소 아까바네병, 츄잔병, 유행열, 이바라기병이 있다. 수의과학연구소에서는 매년 모기출현 전에 전국의 소 3,000두를 대상으로 모기매개질병에 대한 방어항체분포조사를 실시하고 있으며 그 결과를 이용하여 농촌진흥청에서는 금년 5월 소의 모기매개성 전염병의 발생주의보를 발령한 바 있다. 이같이 금년에도 발생이 예상되는 소 모기매개 바이러스성 질병의 예방과 대책에 대해 기술하고자 한다.

  • 기후변화에 따라 매개 질병의 발병 빈도가 증가하고 있으며 모기와 같은 매개체에 의해 전염되는 매개 질병은 인구집단에 대한 중요한 위협 요인이다. 이러한 질병 관리를 위해 지역별 모기 서식 현황을 모니터링 하는 시스템의 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 하지만 현재의 모기 모니터링은 개체 파악을 위한 분류와 동정을 사람이 직접 수행하기에 오랜 시간이 소요된다. 이 연구는 그러한 문제점을 해결하고 미래 매개곤충 서식 현황 파악 시스템의 기반을 마련하기 위해 심층 신경망(Deep Neural Networks)을 활용하여 한국 주요 매개모기 종 분류를 수행하고 결과를 분석하였다. 종 분류를 위한 모델은 잘 알려진 신경망 모델인 DenseNet(Densely Connected Networks)을 사용하였고 이를 직접 촬영한 모기 데이터와 약간의 변형을 가한 모기 데이터를 사용하여 학습시켰다. 학습 데이터를 각각 5배, 20배, 100배로 증강하여 실제 데이터의 부족을 보완하였으며, 이를 통해 최대 99.48%의 정확도를 달성하였다.

Prevalence and Seasonal Abundance of the Dominant Mosquito Species in a Large Marsh near Coast of Ulsan (울산 해안의 습지 주위에 서식하는 주요 모기의 발생 소장)

  • Seasonal fluctuations in density of mosquito species were investigated at two cow sheds near to a large, reedy marsh with fairly polluted brackish water near the coast of Yongam-ri, Cheongryang-myon, Ulsan, Korea. Female mosquitoes were collected biweekly using Nozawa light traps from March to September, from 1999 to 2001. On average, 4,416.1, 5,505.9 and 6,863.8 females per trap night were collected from 10 species in 5 genera in 1999, 2000 and 2001, respectively. Among them, An. sinensis was most abundant (53.4% in species ratio), followed by Cx. tritaeniorhynchus (43.0%), Cx. inatomii (1.6%), Ochlerotatus dorsalis (1.3%) and Cx. pipiens pallens (0.5%). A malaria vector, An. sinensis and a Japanese encephalitis vector, Cx. tritaeniorhynchus were collected 3,663.3 females and 3,142.5 females per trap night from June to September for the years, respectively. According to the biweekly population changes at the area, Cx. inatomii which was dominant species in 1997, was the most abundant in the early July during 1999-2001.

Biological Control of Malaria Vector (Anopheles sinensis Wied.) by Combined Use of Larvivorous Fish (Aplocheilus latipes) and Herbivorous Hybrid (Tilapia mossambicus niloticus) and Herbivorous Hybrid (Tilapia mossambicus niloticus) in Rice Paddies of Korea (천적포식어 (Aplocheilus latipes)와 식식성 어류 (Tilapia mossambicus niloticus) 의 병합적 처리에 의한 논에 서식하는 말라리아 매개모기 (Anopheles sinensis Wied.) 의 생물학적 방제)

  • A combined field release of indigenous larvivoroug fish (Aplocheilus latipes) and hybrid herbivore (Tilapia mossambicus miloticus) was conducted to determine the effectiveness of biological control, in particular, against malaria vector (anopheles sinensis), breeding in weedy habitat of rice fields at the University rice paddies at Suwon during the period of June through September in 1988. A combined fish introduction at the release rate of 2.0 fish per $M^{2}$ for Aplocheilus and 1-pair $10M^{2}$ water surface for Tilapia resuited in 70.8% Anopheles larval reducton in a week period, the rates of rontrol increased to 73. 5% and 80.2% in 4th and 5th week respectively after the fish introdurtion, maintaining mosquito suppression in range of 80~82% control after the 5th week against Anopheles and Culex spp. combined. In a single fish treatment with Aplocheilus at 2.0 $fish/M^{2}$ release rate, Anopheles larval reduction ranged on the average 51.4~56.5%in 4 wrek period which was later integratpd with B.t.i. (Rl53.78) treatment at 1.0 kg/ha dosage rate to suppress vector mosquito population down and the the results was compared with that of combined fish introdurtion.

농업기술 - 가축 모기매개 질병을 사전에 예방하자!

  • 기후 온난화로 가축에서 질병을 전파시키는 모기가 5월부터 나타나 활동기간이 연장되면서 질병에 대한 면역력을 높이기 위해 4월부터 예방접종 등 사전방역대책이 필요하다. 모기가 매개하는 질병으로는 2010년 전북, 전남 및 경남지방에서 한우와 젖소가 일어나지 못하는 기립불능증 증상 등으로 많은 피해를 입은 소 유행열, 아까바네병, 아이노바이러스 감염증, 츄잔병과 이바라기병 등이 있고, 돼지에서 발생하는 일본뇌염이 있다.

  • Eradication of endemic malaria was declared in mid 1980's in Korea, but the number of malaria cases has been oscillating for the past 10 years since the reemergence of the disease in early 1990's. The occurrence of malaria has been concentrated near the demilitarized zone(DMZ), and the regional characteristics of the disease are evident. Considering the spatial variations of malaria incidence across the high-risk areas, the hotspot of the disease, it seems that the occurrence of the disease is influenced by the natural and human environment in the region. Malaria is an infectious disease that is transmitted to humans by the bites of vector-mosquitoes carrying malaria parasites, and it depends on specific climatic and sociodemographic factors. Malaria transmission is highly climate-sensitive, and temperature is the most important component. In addition, human contacts with vector-mosquitoes and the distance between human residence and mosquito habitats are crucial conditions determining malaria incidence rates. The present study aimed to test a hypothesis that the spatial characteristics of malaria incidence depended on local climatic conditions, relative proportions of mosquito habitats, and the distance between mosquito habitats and human residence using meteorological and satellite-based land cover data.

  • 모기 매개 질병에 관한 자료 수집결과 뇌염에 관하여 발병상황을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 1972년부터 1982년사이에 뇌염 발병 환자수의 78.5%가 전라남도, 충청남도, 경기도 지방으로 국한 된다. 2. 치사율은 최저 2.3%에서 최고 17.6%이고 평균 3.8%로 나타났다. 3. 작은 빨간 집모기가 뇌염 매개에 중요한 역할을 하고 있으나 그의 낮은 인체 選好性에 대한 이유는 아직 밝혀지지 않고 있다. 빨간 집모기와 금빛 숲모기의 노염 매기種으로서의 의미는 뇌염 매개에 있어서 그들의 역할에 따라 좀더 연구 되어야 할 필요가 있으며 돼지에 대한 면역을 통하여 뇌염 유행의 가능성을 줄일 수 있는 효과를 규명하는 연구가 필요 되어 진다.

Epidemio-entomological survey on malarial vector mosquitoes in Kyongbuk, Korea (한국에 있어서의 말라리아 매개모기의 역학적, 매개동물학적 조사)

  • In order to determine population dynamics of Anopheles sinensis, a survey based on average number of female mosquitoes per trap-night was carried out during the period of 5 years from 1987 to 1991, A. sinensis Birst appeared between the 2nd and 20th April, and were trapped in large number between the 5th and 12th July. The number of trapped mosquitoes began to decrease from mid-August, and a few were collected until mid-November, each year. The average number of A. sinensis in July was 542.6 per trap-night in 1987, but in 1989 increased abruptly to 1,331.4, and then decreased to considerably lower levels, 271, 9 in 1990 and 372. 1 in 1991. The nocturnal activity of A. sinensis to attack humans was found to become active in the early night, and it was gradually decreasing at mid·night, however, then slightly increasing toward dawn. The immature stage of A. sinensis in the rice paddies was Birst found in the correlation pattern with peak adult densities in early July. The highest larval density of A. sinensis in the study area was 21,226×103 in early July 1990. The larval A. sinensis showed high resistance level and resistance ratios against 3 kinds of organo- phosphorous compounds, diazinon, malathion, and fenitrothion, but low resistance against fenthion. The present results indicated that the population density of A, sinensis in Kyongbuk area is decreasing over the five·year from 1987 to 1991. Remote Sensing Applications for Malaria Research : Emerging Agenda of Medical Geography (원격탐사 자료를 이용한 말라리아 연구 : 보건지리학적 과제와 전망)

  • Malaria infection is sensitively influenced by regional meteorological conditions along with global climate change. Remote sensing techniques have become an important tool for extraction of climatic and environmental factors, including rainfall, temperature, surface water, soil moisture, and land use, which are directly linked to the habitat qualities of malaria mosquitoes. Improvement of sensor fidelity with higher spatial and spectral resolution, new multinational sensor development, and decreased data cost have nurtured diverse remote sensing applications in malaria research. In 1984, eradication of endemic malaria was declared in Korea, but reemergence of malaria was reported in mid-1990s. Considering constant changes in malaria cases since 2000, the epidemiological management of the disease needs careful monitoring. Geographically, northmost counties neighboring North Korea have been ranked high in the number of malaria cases. High infection rates in these areas drew special attention and led to a hypothesis that malaria dispersion in these border counties might be caused by north-origin, malaria-bearing adult mosquitoes. Habitat conditions of malaria mosquitoes are important parameters for prediction of the vector abundance. However, it should be realized that malaria infection and transmission is a complex mechanism, where non-environmental factors, including human behavior, demographic structure, landscape structure, and spatial relationships between human residence and the vector habitats, are also significant considerations in the framework of medical geography.
