Decorative Bricks and Roof Tiles used in Walls and Chimneys in the Chosun Dynasty -focusing on the Design Characteristics (조선조 담${\cdor}$굴뚝에 나타나는 전${\cdor}$와편 장식문양의 유형 -조형 특성을 중심으로)

  • In the Chosun Dynasty (1392-1910), the walls and chimneys of palaces, temples, and the houses of the upper-class show various characteristics of decorative design patterns. This study investigated ceramic bricks and roof tiles, which is one aspect of environmental design studies. This study aimed to provide a typology ot traditional Korean design of bricks and roof tiles used in walls and chimneys, and to show the design characteristics. This study collected 685 designs of bricks and roof tiles, and divided them into 18 categories and 5 types of design patterns based on object figures, architectural styles, materials, and decorative methods. In conclusion, there were differences and similarities among the design patterns. In general, the palaces mostly used red, gray, and black bricks that had more detailed designs presenting auspicious signs or exorcism. But, temples and the houses usually used (black) roof tiles horizontally configured with the edges overlapping to decorate as wall as to strengthen their structure.

THE SOLAR ECLIPSE PREDICTIONS OF CHILEONGSAN-OEPYEON IN EARLY CHOSEON (조선 초기 칠정산 외편의 일식 계산)

  • The history books of East Asia about astronomical phenomena have the more records of the solar eclipse frequently than any other ones. It is because traditionally, the solar eclipse moaned the fate of dynasty and the king's rule. The Sun, the biggest thing in the heaven symbolized the king, and the solar eclipse foresaw that the king had the problem in private including the body, and the country might suffer from difficulties in a great scale. So the king and all of the ministers used to gather to hold a ceremony named Gusikrye(구식례) which solar eclipse may pass safely. Consequently, kings always had concernments on collecting informations of solar eclipse. Inspite of importance of solar eclipse predictions, but at the beginning of the Choseon, the predictions of the solar eclipse didn't fit. King Sejong compiled the Chiljeongsan-naepion (칠정산내편) and the Chiljeongsan-oepyeon(칠정산외편) to calculate the celestial phenomena including the solar eclipse. By the publications of these two books, the calendar making system of Choseon was firmly established. The Chiljeongsan-oepyeon adopted Huihui calendar(회회력) of Arabia. The Solar eclipse predictions of Chiljeongsan-oepyeon were relative correct compared to modern method in early Choseon dynasty.

  • Human made a vessel which was made naturally to store something being hunted and picked, which was a great invention.(n modern times, society changed and development of science gave us convenience in making a vessel and various kinds of store instruments which was made of pure natural material), They have built the house which became to be a part of nature, and studied a method of storing food to eat for four seasons, then displayed a storage house and storage containers everywhere of the house. Now Korean has the custody of kimchi in refrigerator at every house. With hot wind of well-being, Korean food is becoming to be globalized, according to this the world shows concern seriously about the pottery This study have three purposes, the first. checking documents about the development history of pottery which is a kind of ceramic, and then the second, through an scientific experiment, with studying characteristic of pottery being built by the wisdom of ancestors, informing the merit of pottery and necessity to the world, and futhermore, the third, working up the development of close environmental vessels putting to use the characteristic of pottery.

  • 고압처리로 멸균된(high-pressure- sterilized) 저산성 식품은 아직 본격적으로 시장에 나오지는 않고 있다. 그러나 고압처리로 살균시켜(high-pressure-pasteurized) 제품의 부가가치를 높인 상품들은 일부 시판되고 있다. 미국시장에는 구아카몰(guacamole),굴 등이 있고, 일본과 유럽에는 잼, 젤리, 생선제품, 육제품, 슬라이스 햄, 샐러드 드레싱, 쌀떡, 주스, 요구르트 등이 판매되고 있다. 기술이 발전되어 처리비용이 떨어짐에따라 우유나 오렌지 주스 같은 저부가가치의 제품(high-volume commodity products)에도 고압처리 기술이 적용되는 예를 보게 될 것이다.미국 FDA의 "열처리된 저산성식품은 용접밀봉된 용기(캔, hermetically sealed container)에 포장되어야 한다." 는 규정(Title 21, Part 113 of the Code Federal Regulations)은 고압처리 식품을 염두에 두고 만들어진 규정은 아니지만, 저산성식품의 고압처리 공정(high-pressure processing)은 강력한 살균력을 제공하고 있다. 따라서 위의 FDA 규정(21 CFR 113)의 모든 조항은 고압처리 저산성 식품이 상업적인 생산에 들어가기 전에 시행되어야만 하는 것이다. 그 규정의 주요 조항중의 하나는 고압처리 공정에 대한 전문적인 지식을 가진 전문가나 위원회 등에 의하여 세부적인 고압처리공정 절차를 확립하는 것이다. 공정의 전문가들은 안전성을 증명하기 위해서 적합한 과학적인 방법을 사용하여 고압처리 공정을 확립해야만 한다. 저산성 식품에 대한 고압처리 공정은 주의깊게 설정된 공정조건하에서 재현성 있게 안전한 식품을 생산할 수 있어야 한다. 살균에 대한 안전성과 재현성이 입증되면 고압에 의한 살균처리공정 설계는 일반적인 대량생산 공정으로 활용될 수 있게 된다. PP(고압처리공정)의 유효성이 보다 확실하게 입증되고 널리 활용되려면, 공정의 살균력과 일관성(uniformity)을 증명하는 미생물적, 물리적, 화학적, 공학적인 여러 분야가 통합된 검증방법이 필요하다. 전통적인 열처리 공정은 스팀열의 가열시간으로 설명이 충분하다. 물론 HPP살균에서도 시간과 온도는 주요 변수이지만, 압력에 의한 미생물살균도 고려되어야만 한다. 또한 점도, 밀도, 구성성분, pH, 수분활성도 같은 해당제품의 특성도 제품의 고압처리 살균공정, 특히 미생물의 사멸에 영향을 미칠 수도 있다.

  • Rapidly changing 3D rendering technology is expanding its fields of display fast towards Non-Photorealistic Rendering beyond Photorealistic Rendering. It is now attainable to realize conventional 2D visual animated cartoons with 3D animation technology. It is not complex to create two shades of color or more with the rendered outcomes, made by Toon-Shading, of 3D total packaging animation Maya with black outlines brought through the process of 2D animation. It the reality of 3D animation being one of the prevalent mechanisms of animated films, it is valuable for familiarized animated cartoons to be realized by the technology of 3D animation. Thus, I hope to help in many ways create more effective 3D cartoon animation production process by optimized Toon-Shading attributes method and technology in this research.

Automated Generation of Wrapper to Test Components (컴포넌트 테스트를 위한 래퍼의 자동 생성에 관한 연구)

  • Assembling new software systems from Prepared components is an attractive alternative to traditional software development method to reduce development cost and schedule dramatically. However, if separately developed components are tested, integrated and verified with unreasonable effort and high cost, it would not be an effective way to software development. Components are not distributed in the shape of white-box source code so that should be hard to validate and test in new application environment. For solving this problem, built-in tester components are suggested to check the contract-compliance of their server components. If components have various and complex function, built-in tester should be heavy and unflexible to test in composition of components. This paper suggests enhancing automated wrapper technique which substitutes with built-in tester components and shows the usability of the wrapper by design and implementation. Component testing in this way reduces the cost and effort associated with preparation of component testing and makes the various test experiments in components assembly.

Generalized LR Parser with Conditional Action Model(CAM) using Surface Phrasal Types (표층 구문 타입을 사용한 조건부 연산 모델의 일반화 LR 파서)

  • Generalized LR parsing is one of the enhanced LR parsing methods so that it overcome the limit of one-way linear stack of the traditional LR parser using graph-structured stack, and it has been playing an important role of a firm starting point to generate other variations for NL parsing equipped with various mechanisms. In this paper, we propose a conditional Action Model that can solve the problems of conventional probabilistic GLR methods. Previous probabilistic GLR parsers have used relatively limited contextual information for disambiguation due to the high complexity of internal GLR stack. Our proposed model uses Surface Phrasal Types representing the structural characteristics of the parse for its additional contextual information, so that more specified structural preferences can be reflected into the parser. Experimental results show that our GLR parser with the proposed Conditional Action Model outperforms the previous methods by about 6-7% without any lexical information, and our model can utilize the rich stack information for syntactic disambiguation of probabilistic LR parser.

품종을 달리한 고추피클의 숙성기간 중 품질특성 변화

  • 피클(pickles)은 구미 각국에서 널리 애용되는 침채류이다. 수확한 농산물의 신선도를 유지하면서 장기보관 하기 위해 만들어진 것으로 여러 가지 방법이 시도되어 왔고, 동양에서는 높은 습도로 인한 곰팡이 증식을 억제하기 위하여 소금 절임 방법이 발달되었으며, 건조한 기후의 유럽에서는 세균번식을 억제하기 위하여 식초절임이 발달하였다. 피클이란 채소 또는 과실류를 소금, 식초 또는 여기에 향신료 등을 넣은 것에 절인 것을 총칭하는 것으로, 주로 오이, 컬리플라워, 양파, 미숙 토마토 등을 원료로 사용한다. 본 연구에서는 피클의 특징인 아삭아삭함을 유지하면서, 피클의 신맛과 한국 전통식장아찌를 혼용한 염장피클로, 기능적 특성을 가진 허브를 첨가하여 현대인에게 오는 성인병의 예방과 기능성 식품에 부가 가치를 높이고자 하며, 또한 피클 제조를 위한 고추의 품종 선정을 위한 기초 실험을 하고자 함에 있다. 풋고추, 청양고추, 꽈리고추 등 품종을 달리하여 제조한 고추피클의 숙성기간 중 품질특성을 실험하였다. 염도변화는 모든 품종에서 숙성기간이 길어질수록 염도가 낮아졌으며, 숙성이 완료되는 시점인 25일경에는 풋고추 2.95%, 청양고추 2.68%의 염도 변화를 보였다. pH변화는 세 품종간에 차이는 없는 것으로 보여졌으며, 숙성기간에 따른 차이도 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 고형분함량은 풋고추와 꽈리고추가 비슷한 경향을 보였고, 청양고추가 다소 높았다. 적정산도의 변화는 세 품종간에 차이는 없었지만, 숙성이 진행될수록 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 탁도변화는 꽈리고추가 가장 낮았고, 청양고추가 가장 높았으며, 숙성이 진행될수록 모두 탁해지는 경향을 보였다. 또한 피클의 경도변화는 풋고추는 0일에 45.12g 청양고추는 56.68g, 꽈리 고추 42.12g의 경도를 보였으며, 숙성최종단계인 25일에는 풋고추 20.33g, 청양고추 25.12g, 꽈리고추는 17.81g으로 꽈리고추의 경도가 가장 낮았고, 청양고추는 세 품종 중에서 가장 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 세 품종 모두 숙성이 진행될수록 경도가 현저히 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다.

Prediction of the Shaft Resistance of Pile Sockets (암에 근입된 말뚝의 주면저항력 예측)

  • Empiricism has characterized the traditional methods of pile design; in essence, pile design recommendations are based on the accumulated knowledge of pile behaviour based on the construction and subsequent load testing of piles in soil and rock. In this paper, the traditional approaches to design of piles in rock will be briefly reviewed. It will be shown that the unrelated empirical relationships developed fur rock lead to considerable uncertainty in the design of piles. A new method for predicting the shaft resistance of piles socketed into rock, and based on fundamental principles is outlined. It is shown that the shaft resistance predictions of this method agree well with the field test data for rock and hard soil. It is demonstrated by way of a limited parametric study that shaft roughness and socket diameter are critical factors in the performance of piles constructed in these materials. The application of the method to piles socketed into the granites and gneisses of Korea is discussed by way of a case study and by reference to recent direct shear tests on these rocks.

Characteristics of GABA Rice Makgeolli Made by Korean Traditional Rice Wine Method of Geupchungju (전통 제주방법인 급청주법으로 제조한 가바쌀막걸리의 품질 특성)

  • This study was performed to elucidate the fermentation and sensory characteristics of Korean traditional rice wine, makgeolli, made from GABA rice, which has a high content of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid). GABA rice is a brown rice that is not easily fermented by general makgeolli manufacturing methods. Thus, the Geupchungju method, which is a Korean traditional manufacturing method for makgeolli using a fermentation starter and additional malt, was considered for making makgeolli from GABA rice. We confirmed that Geupchungju method showed a high saccharification and stable alcohol fermentation ability in the early stages of fermentation. However, malt addition more than 2% resulted in a lower score in the sensory evaluation of the final product. It was also confirmed that GABA content of GABA makgeolli was higher than that of commercial makgeolli by 2.3-fold. Our result provides useful information toward improving quality of brown rice makgeolli.
