  • Introduction of wave model, considered the effect of shoaling, refraction, diffraction, partial reflection, bottom friction, breaking at the coastal waters of complex bathymetry, is a very important factor for most coastal engineering design and disaster prevention problems. As waves move from deeper waters to shallow coastal waters, the fundamental wave parameters will change and the wave energy is redistributed along wave crests due to the depth variation, the presence of islands, coastal protection structures, irregularities of the enclosing shore boundaries, and other geological features. Moreover, waves undergo severe change inside the surf zone where wave breaking occurs and in the regions where reflected waves from coastline and structural boundaries interact with the incident waves. Therefore, the application of mild-slope equation model in this field would help for understanding of wave transformation mechanism where many other models could not deal with up to now. The purpose of this study is to form a extended mild-slope equation wave model and make comparison and analysis on variation of harbor responses in the vicinities of Pohang Old Harbor and Pohang New Port, etc. due to construction of New Port in Youngil Bay. This type of trial might be a milestone for port development in macroscale, where the induced impact analysis in the existing port due to the developemnt could be easily neglected.

  • 영광 3/4호기 mid-loop 운전중 잔열제거(RHR) 기능 상실사고시 열수력적 현상을 최적 전산코드인 CATHARE2를 이용하여 해석하였다. 이러한 사고시 열수력적 현상은 일,이차측 냉각재 방출유로와 계통내 비응축성 가스의 거동에 의해 크게 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 2개의 경우를 모의하였는데, 하나는 계통내 방출유로가 있는 경우이며 다른 하나는 방출유로가 없는 경우를 계산하였다. 이 때 사용된 가정은 다음과 같다. (가) 계통은 부분충수 운전 상태로 상부에 비응축성 가스나 증기로 가득 차 있다. (나) 증기발생기는 1대만이 이용 가능하고 이차측은 습식보관 상태이며, 보조급수는 공급되지 않고 이차측 압력은 대기압 상태이다 (다) 사고는 원자로 정지후 2일후 발생한다. 이와같은 조건하에서 사고시 계통 최대압력은 방출유로가 있는 경우 사고후 6,000 초에 0.27 MPa이며, 방출유로를 통한 유량은 총 2.4 kg/s이다. 이 방출유량을 외삽하여 계통수위가 고온관 바닦까지 도달하는데 걸린 시간은 사고후 약 5.67시간이다. 증기발생기 U-튜브를 통한 열전달에 의해 이차측 증기 발생으로 이차측 수위가 하락하면 증기발생기 reflux cooling은 제한을 받을 수 있다. 이 경우 이차측 수위가 U-튜브의 active 영역 상부까지 도달하는데 걸리는 시간은 사고후 약 10시간으로 계산되었다. 그러므로 이 경우 보조급수 공급 여유시간보다 노심 노출시간이 더 빨리 도달하여 노심을 손상시킨다. 사고시 수위지시계는 계통감압에 큰 영향을 주지 못하기 때문에 가능한 빨리 닫아 계통 inventory를 유지하는 것이 이차측 보조급수공급보다 우선한다.합한 설계방안으로 분석되었다.크다는 단점이 있다.TEX>$_2$O$_3$ 흡착제 제조시 TiO$_2$ 함량에 따른 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착량과 25$0^{\circ}C$의 고온에서 ZrO$_2$$Al_2$O$_3$의 표면에 생성된 코발트 화합물을 XPS와 EPMA로 부터 확인하였다.인을 명시적으로 설명할 수 있다. 둘째, 오류의 시발점을 정확히 포착하여 동기가 분명한 수정대책을 강구할 수 있다. 셋째, 음운 과 정의 분석 모델은 새로운 언어 학습시에 관련된 언어 상호간의 구조적 마찰을 설명해 줄 수 있다. 넷째, 불규칙적이며 종잡기 힘들고 단편적인 것으로만 보이던 중간언어도 일정한 체계 속에서 변화한다는 사실을 알 수 있다. 다섯째, 종전의 오류 분석에서는 지나치게 모국어의 영향만 강조하고 다른 요인들에 대해서는 다분히 추상적인 언급으로 끝났지만 이 분석을 통 해서 배경어, 목표어, 특히 중간규칙의 역할이 괄목할 만한 것임을 가시적으로 관찰할 수 있 다. 이와 같은 오류분석 방법은 학습자의 모국어 및 관련 외국어의 음운규칙만 알면 어느 학습대상 외국어에라도 적용할 수 있는 보편성을 지니는 것으로 사료된다.없다. 그렇다면 겹의문사를 [-wh]의리를 지 닌 의문사의 병렬로 분석할 수 없다. 예를 들어 누구누구를 [주구-이-ν가] [누구누구-이- ν가]로부터 생성되었다고 볼 수 없다. 그러므로 [-wh] 겹의문사는 복수 의미를 지닐 수 없 다. 그러면 단수 의미는 어떻게 생성되는가\

Experimental Study of Friction Factors for Laminar, Transition, and Turbulent Flow Regimes in Helical Coil Tubes (헬리컬 코일 튜브에서의 층류, 천이, 난류 영역의 마찰계수에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • The friction factors according to the flow regimes in helical coil tubes depend on the coil diameter, the tube diameter, and the coil pitch. In previous studies, correlations for the laminar flow regime in helical coil tubes have been proposed. However, studies on the transition flow regime and the turbulent flow regime are insufficient and further researches are necessary. In this study, characteristics of the friction factors for the laminar, transition and turbulent flow regimes in helical coil tubes were experimentally investigated. The helical coil tubes used in the experiments were made of copper. The curvature ratios of the helical coil tubes, which means the ratio of helical coil diameter to inner diameter of the helical coil tube are 24.5 and 90.9. Experiments were carried out in the range of $529{\leq}Re{\leq}39,406$ to observe the flows from the laminar to the turbulent regime. The friction factors were obtained by measuring the differential pressures according to the flow rates in the helical coil tubes while varying the curvature ratios of the helical coil tubes. Experimental data show that the friction factors for the helical coil tube with 24.5 in the curvature ratio of the helical coil tube were larger than those in the straight tube in all flow regimes. As the curvature ratio of the helical coil tube increases, the friction factor in turbulent flow regime tends to be equal to that of the straight tube. In addition, it was confirmed that the transition flow regimes in the helical coil tubes were much wider than those in the straight tube, also the critical Reynolds numbers were larger than those in the straight tube. The results obtained in this experimental study can be used as basic data for studies on the water hammer phenomenon in helical coil tubes.

Application of non-destructive method for evaluation of soil nail length (쏘일네일의 길이평가를 위한 비파괴 기법의 적용)

  • As soil nails support a ground by the friction between nails and soils being reinforced, the length of soil nails is important factor for a ground stability. Thus, the soil nail length has to be accurately evaluated in order to secure a ground stability. The goal of this study is to suggest the applicability of the non-destructive method as the basic research for the evaluation of the soil nail length. First, the elastic and electromagnetic waves are adopted to select an applicable method for the soil nails connected by the coupler. Test results show that while the ultrasonic waves are not detected due to the coupler, the electromagnetic waves are free for the influence of the coupler. Second, electromagnetic waves are measured for combined soil nails with the length of 1 m~15 m for the investigation of the characteristics of electromagnetic waves. The travel time of the electromagnetic wave increases with an increase in the soil nail length. In addition, the ground cable is used to apply the electromagnetic waves to pre-installed soil nails. Test results show that the travel time of the electromagnetic wave by using the ground cable increases with an increase in soil nail length. This study demonstrates that the electromagnetic wave may be a promising method for the evaluation of the soil nail length.

Interfacial Properties of Imidazoline Cationic Surfactant (Imidazoline 양이온 계면활성제의 계면 특성)

  • In this study, interfacial properties were measured for imidazoline type cationic surfactant system which has been widely used as a fabric softener, a dispersant, an anti-static agent, a bleach activator, and an emulsifier. The CMC of imidazoline surfactant was near $6{\times}10^{-5}mol/L$ and the surface tension at CMC was about 32 mN/m. It was found that surface tension was not affected by surfactant concentration but decreased with an increase in pH. The interfacial tension between 1 wt% aqueous solution and n-dodecane was shown to be about 0.01 mN/m and equilibration time was not affected by pH. Phase behavior experiment in a binary aqueous surfactant system showed that only micellar solution of $L_1$ phase was found under conditions of temperature and pH investigated during this study. Only a two-phase region consisting of lower-phase microemulsion in equilibrium with excess oil phase existed under the same conditions, when oil was added to the binary surfactant system. The foam stability measured with 1 wt% surfactant solution increased with pH, which is consistent with surface tension measurement result. QCM(quartz crystal microbalance) measurement showed that surfactant adsorption increased with surfactant concentration but decreased with pH. According to the friction measurement, best fabric softening effect by imidazoline surfactant system was found under alkali conditions.

  • Recently in Korea, the policy is being proceeded to build a intergenerational housing on artificial ground of railroad site for utilizing rental house. Due to narrow space of rail road site, suitable method have to be developed such as micropiles which is known as a method of a fast construction. However, If micropile is used as foundations for the super structure, construction cost is increases compared with other pile. Consequently, new concept micropile proposed to improve both bearing capacity and cost efficiency of general micropile. New concept micropile consists of waveform cement grout surrounding tread bar that formed by grouting the soil layer with jet grouting method as control the grout pressure and flow. The micropile with waveform is expected to decrease the construction cost by cut down pile length of general micropile. This paper examined the behavior of the new concept micropile with waveform subjected to axial load using two-dimensional axisymmetric numerical analyses method. According to the numerical result, there will cost effectiveness as the pile displacement decreased despite the length of waveform micropile is down about 5% from a general micropile under the same loading condition. Also, the effect of skin friction force which mobilized from the waveform of micropile appeared at relatively soft ground.

Effects of Differential Heating by Land-Use types on flow and air temperature in an urban area (토지 피복별 차등 가열이 도시 지역의 흐름과 기온에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, the effects of differential heating by land-use types on flow and air temperature at an Seoul Automated Synoptic Observing Systems (ASOS) located at Songwol-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul was analyzed. For this, a computation fluid dynamics (CFD) model was coupled to the local data assimilation and prediction system (LDAPS) for reflecting the local meteorological characteristics at the boundaries of the CFD model domain. Time variation of temperatures on solid surfaces was calculated using observation data at El-Oued, Algeria of which latitude is similar to that of the target area. Considering land-use type and shadow, surface temperatures were prescribed in the LDAPS-CFD coupled model. The LDAPS overestimated wind speeds and underestimated air temperature compared to the observations. However, a coupled LDAPS-CFD model relatively well reproduced the observed wind speeds and air temperature, considering complicated flows and surface temperatures in the urban area. In the morning when the easterly was dominant around the target area, both the LDAPS and coupled LDAPS-CFD model underestimated the observed temperatures at the Seoul ASOS. This is because the Kyunghee Palace located at the upwind region was composed of green area and its surface temperature was relatively low. However, in the afternoon when the southeasterly was dominant, the LDAPS still underestimated, on the while, the coupled LDAPS-CFD model well reproduced the observed temperatures at the Seoul ASOS by considering the building-surface heating.

Prediction of Brittle Failure within Mesozoic Granite of the Daejeon Region (대전지역 중생대 화강암 암반 내 취성파괴 예측연구)

  • Brittle failure of Mesozoic granite in the Daejeon region is predicted using empirical analysis and numerical modeling techniques. The input parameters selected for these techniques were based on the results of laboratory tests, including damage-controlled tests. Rock masses that were considered to be strong during laboratory testing were assigned to "group A" and those considered to be extremely strong were assigned to "group B". The properties of each group were then used in the analyses. In-situ stress measurements, or the ratio of horizontal to vertical stress (k), were also necessary for the analyses, but no such measurements have been made in the study area. Therefore, k values of 1, 2, and 3 were assumed. In the case of k=1, empirical analysis and numerical modeling show no indication of brittle failure from the surface to1000 m depth. When k=2, brittle failure of the rock mass occurs at depths below 800 m. For k=3, brittle failure occurs at depths below 600 m. Although both the Cohesion Weakening Friction Strengthening (CWFS) and Mohr-Coulomb models were used to predict brittle failure, only the CWFS model performed well in simulating the range and depth of the brittle failure zone.

Characteristics of Diamond Like Carbon Film Fabricated by Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition Method with mixed Ar, N2 gas rate (혼합된 Ar, N2 가스 유량에 따른 PECVD 방법에 의하여 제작된 다이아몬드 상 탄소 박막의 특성)

  • 다이아몬드 상 탄소(diamond-like carbon, DLC)는 상당량의 $sp^3$ 결합을 가지는 비정질 탄소(a-C) 또는 수소화 비정질 탄소(a-C:H)로 이루어진 준안정 형태의 탄소이다. DLC는 전기 저항과 굴절률이 높고 화학적으로 다른 물질과 반응하지 않으며, 마찰계수가 낮고 경도가 높아 자기 디스크, 광학 소자 등의 다양한 분야에서 적용되고 있다[1,2]. 또한 다이아몬드에 비해 상온에서 성장이 가능할 정도로 합성온도가 낮아 적용 기판의 제한이 거의 없고, 증착 방법과 조건에 따라 탄소 결합의 다양성과 비정질성이 변화하기 때문에 넓은 범위의 특성을 얻을 수 있는 장점이 있다. 지금까지 DLC 박막의 광학적 특성, 특히 굴절률, 광학적인 에너지 밴드 갭, 자외선과 적외선 투과성에 대해서는 많은 연구가 진행되었으나 가시광선의 투과성에 대한 연구는 제한적이며[4], 가시광선 투과도 개선에 대한 연구는 전무하다. 본 연구에서는 ITO 기판 위에 DLC를 합성하고 기계적 특성과 가시광선 영역 투과도를 조사하였다. RF-PECVD(radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition) 방법에 의해서 $C_2H_2+Ar$ 혼합 가스 비율과 $C_2H_2+N_2$ 혼합 가스 비율을 변화시켜 ITO 기판 위에 DLC 박막을 합성하였다. 공정 압력과 rf-power, 증착시간, 기판온도는 0.2 torr, 40 W, 5 분, $50^{\circ}C$로 고정하고, 공정 가스는 $C_2H_2+Ar$$C_2H_2+N_2$가 200 sccm이 되도록 비율을 변화하였다. $C_2H_2:Ar$$C_2H_2:N_2$의 비율은 180 : 20, 160 : 40, 140 : 60, 120 : 80, 100 : 100이 되도록 가스의 유량을 조절하였다. 투과도는 가시광선(380 ~ 780 nm) 범위에서 측정하였고 두께와 표면조도는 AFM으로 측정하였다. 투과도는 $C_2H_2+Ar$의 Ar 가스 비율이 증가할수록 증가해 140 : 60일 때 최댓값을 나타낸 후 다시 감소하였다. $C_2H_2+N_2$ 투과도는 $N_2$ 가스 비율이 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 표면 거칠기는 $C_2H_2+Ar$ 혼합 가스를 사용한 경우의 Ar의 가스 비율이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 그러나 $C_2H_2+N_2$ 혼합 가스를 사용한 경우에는 $N_2$ 가스의 혼합 비율이 증가할수록 감소하였다.
