Numerical Analysis-Based Design of PEMFC Channel, Fabrication of Channels, and Performance Test Using SU-8 (수치해석을 통한 PEMFC 채널의 설계와 SU-8을 이용한 채널 제작 및 성능 평가)

  • Fuel cells have attracted enormous interest as new power sources because the cells can be used to solve the problem of environmental pollution as well as the natural-resource exhaustion problem. In this study, hydrogen-gas flow in microchannels of different shapes was numerically analyzed to improve the efficiency of a microfuel cell. Flow characteristics in six microchannels of different shapes but under identical boundary conditions were simulated. The analysis result shows that the flow characteristics such as velocity, uniformity, and flow rate, greatly depend upon the channel shape. This implies that the efficiency of microfuel cell can be expected to be increased by adopting the optimal configuration of channel shape for hydrogen-gas flow. The experimental results show that power density of a PEMFC with a microflow channel is higher than that of a PEMFC without a microflow channel; however, a durable catalyst is required in MEA.

  • Hydrogen-fueled gas turbines are a promising technology that can resolve the carbon dioxide emission issue as future aviation propulsion engines and carbon-free power generations. To achieve high efficiency and stability of gas turbines using 100% hydrogen as fuel, an innovative design of combustor systems is necessary to consider the characteristics of hydrogen, which are different from those of conventional hydrocarbon fuels. Micromix is a combustor design method, which aims to terminate the reaction quickly by intense mixing of fuel and air, consequently reducing NOx and increasing the stability. In this paper, we examine the principles and design process of micromix combustors as a pure-hydrogen combustion technology, and we introduce a design of a 30 kW micromix hydrogen combustor for research.

  • The product to be developed in this study is a heat recovery device which generates steam or hot water at high temperature and high pressure by heating water using exhaust gas from diesel engine, gas engine, gas turbine, etc. as an exhaust gas boiler off heat boiler(EGB) type for ship and power generation. The steam vapor or the created warm water is used as the power source required for the steerage heating and hot water facility or the HFO heating of the ship, and the turbine drive. The principle of waste heat boilers serves to heat water as high temperature exhaust gas with heat pass through the tube of the boiler. The heated water is a structure that is sent to a cabin or turbine device in the form of steam. In this study, the objective of this study is to maximize the efficiency by increasing the heat transfer surface by replacing the tube which is the heat transfer part of EGB with the plate tube.

  • Single-phase is used widely power of field of appliance because can use commercialized power directly without power transform. Specially, because condenser nu-drive style single-phase induction motor efficiency is excellent, and most suitable in embodiment as economical. It is established true that method by crossing self-discipline and method by revolving magnetic field are interpretation of net single-phase induction motor, but method to calculate electric motor inside proper move in existent theory or method is some complex. That arbor in the law of circuit constant that combine equivalent circuit law with numerical analysis law according to development of the latest computer or microprocessor is suggested and does the calculation processing fast and correct. In this paper, measurement wishes to present method that calculate after calculate digital measurement that measures correctly and measures impossible the first and the second leakage reactance and no-load test locked-rotor test, DC test and resistance measurement of stator winding in circuit parameter calculation program that is had for MatLab program individually in single-phase power.
