Comparison of pigment in automotive solid color paints by FT-IR and XRF spectroscopy for forensic aspect (법과학적 관점에서 FT-IR과 XRF를 이용한 단색 페인트의 안료 비교)

  • Identification of paint on victim's clothing and a vehicle are valuable for forensic examination when investigating hit-and-run accidents. Automotive paints on clothes are used to prove a victim caused by traffic accident and to identify a suspected vehicle. The comparison of transferred paints between victim's vehicle and suspected vehicle can be an important evidence in reconstructing the accident situation and in discovering the truth. The paints such as white, yellow, red, blue, or black are hard to examine particle shape under a stereomicroscope because of it is not included aluminum, pearl, and mica flakes in the pigments. The aim of this study under forensic aspect is to compare pigment among basecoat layers of solid paints by identifying inorganic elemental compositions and binder resins of pigments using by micro-FT-IR and micro-XRF spectrometer. The pigment samples were analyzed by using two methods of FT-IR: Reflectance and ATR method. Two methods of FT-IR were useful in discriminating binder resins of pigments by comparing characteristic peaks and patterns of spectra. Also, XRF spectrometer could identify the elemental compositions in inorganic pigments of trace paints which are difficult to compare the identification by FT-IR.

Characterizations of Lyocell and Its Blended Nanocomposite Film: Morphology and Mechanical Property (라이오셀 및 라이오셀 블렌드 나노복합체 필름의 특성 연구 : 모폴로지 및 기계적 성질)

  • The mechanical properties and morphologies of lyocell and its blend we compared. Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) was used as a filler in blends with lyocell produced through solution blending. The variations of their properties with polymer matrix filler content are discussed. The ultimate tensile strength of the PVA/lyocell blend is highest for a blend lyocell content of 30 wt%, and decreases as the lyocell content is increased up to 40 wt%. The variations in the initial moduli of the blends with filler content are similar. Lyocell and its blended hybrid films were prepared by the solution intercalation method, using dodecyltriphenylphosphonium-mica ($C_{12}PPh$-Mica) as the organoclay. The variations of the mechanical tensile properties of the hybrids with the organoclay content were examined. These properties were found to be optimal for an organoclay content of up to 5 wt%. However, the mechanical tensile properties of the PVA/Lyocell (w/w=30/70) blended hybrid films were found to decrease linearly with increases in organoclay content from 1 to 5 wt%.

Preparation and Characterization of Biodegradable Poly($\varepsilon$-caprolactone)/ Poly(ethylene oxide) Microcapsules Containing Erythromycin (에리트로마이신을 함유한 생분해성 폴리카프로락톤/폴리(에틸렌 옥사이드) 마이크로캡슐의 제조 및 특성)

  • The purposes of this work were the producing of a biodegradable poly($\varepsilon$-caprolactone) (PCL) / poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) microcapsule and the analyzing of form and features for the manufacturing conditions which could be observed in a prospective drug delivery systems through drug release. The effects of emulsifier, emulsifier concentration, and stirring rate for the diameter and form of the microcapsules were observed using image analyzer and scanning electron microscope. The role of interfacial adhesion between PCL/PEO and drug was determined by contact angle measurements, and the drug release test of the microcapsules was characterized by UV/vis. spectra. As a result, the microcapsules were made in spherical fonns with a mean particle size of 170 nm∼68 $\mu$m. And the work of adhesion between water and PCL/PEO increased with increasing the content of PEO, probably due to the increased the hydrophilicity. It was also found that the drug release rate from the microcapsules significantly increased with increasing the content of PEO, which could be also attributed to the increasing of the hydrophilic groups or the degree of adhesion force at interfaces.

  • Generally, Miller-Rabin method has been the most popular primality test. This method arbitrary selects m at k-times from m=[2, n-1] range and (m,n)=1. Miller-Rabin method performs $k{\times}r$ times and reports prime as $m^d\;{\equiv}\;1(mod\;n)$ or $m^{2^rd}\;{\equiv}\;-1(mod n)$ such that n-1=$2^sd$, $0\;{\leq}\;r\;{\leq}\;s-1$. This paper suggests more simple primality test than Miller-Rabin method. This test method computes c=$p^{\frac{n-1}{2}}(mod\;n)$ for k times and reports prime as c=-1. The proposed primality test method reduces $k{\times}r$ times of Miller-Rabin method to k times.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 고전적 순간단위도 모형 중의 하나인 Nash 모형의 매개변수와 하천망의 동적 Fractal 차원 사이의 관계를 체계적으로 분석하여 해당 매개변수의 수문학적 의미를 추론해 보는 것이다. Nash 모형의 경우, GIUH 이론과의 결합을 통하여 Horton 비를 기반으로 한 두 매개변수의 지형학적 추정 방법이 일찍부터 제안되어 왔다 (Rosso, 1984; Bhunya, 2008). 특히 Liu(1992)는 2차원 자유 Euclidean 공간 내에서 percolation cluster 모형의 응집구조와 유역의 배수구조 사이의 비교를 통하여 하천망의 Fractal 차원을 정적 Fractal 차원과 동적 Fractal 차원으로 구분하고 양자의 수문학적 의미에 대하여 강조한 바 있다. 본 연구에서는 문헌 조사 (Morisawa, 1962; Marani et al., 1991; Rosso et al., 1991)를 통하여 수집한 비교적 신뢰성 있는 국외 하천망들에 관한 정보를 기반으로 Nash 모형의 매개변수와 하천망의 동적 Fractal 차원 사이의 관계를 분석해 보았다. 주요한 결과로서 Nash 모형의 형상 매개변수와 하천망의 Fractal 차원 사이에는 밀접한 상관관계가 존재함을 알 수 있었으며 이를 통하여 하천망의 Fractal 차원을 이용하여 해당 매개변수를 직접 추정할 수 있는 관계식을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 분광 차원과 Nash 모형의 첨두 좌표 사이의 관계를 통하여 겉보기에서로 다른 유역들 사이에 존재할 수 있는 수문학적 상사성을 평가할 수 있는 기준의 수립 역시 본 연구과정을 통하여 제시할 수 있으로 판단된다. 후속 연구로서 국내외 다수 유역들에 대한 지형분석을 통하여 본 연구에서 얻은 결과의 보편성을 검정하고 수문학적 자료들에 대한 검증을 통하여 Nash 모형을 기반으로 한 다양한 수문학적 모형들의 개선 방안을 제시해 보고자 한다.

A Step-by-Step Primality Test (단계적 소수 판별법)

  • Miller-Rabin method is the most prevalently used primality test. However, this method mistakenly reports a Carmichael number or semi-prime number as prime (strong lier) although they are composite numbers. To eradicate this problem, it selects k number of m, whose value satisfies the following : m=[2,n-1], (m,n)=1. The Miller-Rabin method determines that a given number is prime, given that after the computation of $n-1=2^sd$, $0{\leq}r{\leq}s-1$, the outcome satisfies $m^d{\equiv}1$(mod n) or $m^{2^rd}{\equiv}-1$(mod n). This paper proposes a step-by-step primality testing algorithm that restricts m=2, hence achieving 98.8% probability. The proposed method, as a first step, rejects composite numbers that do not satisfy the equation, $n=6k{\pm}1$, $n_1{\neq}5$. Next, it determines prime by computing $2^{2^{s-1}d}{\equiv}{\beta}_{s-1}$(mod n) and $2^d{\equiv}{\beta}_0$(mod n). In the third step, it tests ${\beta}_r{\equiv}-1$ in the range of $1{\leq}r{\leq}s-2$ for ${\beta}_0$ > 1. In the case of ${\beta}_0$ = 1, it retests m=3,5,7,11,13,17 sequentially. When applied to n=[101,1000], the proposed algorithm determined 96.55% of prime in the initial stage. The remaining 3% was performed for ${\beta}_0$ >1 and 0.55% for ${\beta}_0$ = 1.

  • This study investigated the base of marine leisure facilities and studied the future vision for development of marine industry by conducting a systematic analysis on the category of marine leisure products for development of design and specialization of southeast area of Korea. If the age of $20,000 of per capita national income is called 'the age of my car', $20,000 of per capita national income is called 'the age of my boat'. According to the report of UK-based Marine South East, the scale of world's small boat and personal waterborne equipment reached 277 trillion won in 2010 and domestic market scale is expected to be 11 trillion won. Marine leisure facilities are the new growth engine industry that the government should promote as a nation's strategic and core industry, and the government is pushing ahead with promotion of marine industry actively by announcing Marine Leisure Equipment Industry Activation Plan(June 2009, Ministry of Knowledge Economy), Marine Leisure Activation Plan(July 2010, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport), The 1st General Plan for Marina Port(January 2010, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) etc. The purpose of marine design lies in seeking the status of the country and qualitative value in human life through functional, artistic, industrial and cultural development of design elements for all marine activities made around the sea. Related to all activities made in the ocean and cost, marine design is a sphere of design that includes special conditions centering around water. Considering the condition that 3 sides of land are facing the sea, this study systematically analyzed present condition of equipment possessed by each area, type of facilities, operational status, current status of sectoral use of marine leisure facilities and future prospect of marine leisure products that become the basis of value to raise the statue as an advanced marine power in 2010s through development of the qualitative level of the people, establishment of the direction of national strategy, convergence of industry and culture and specialization of area focusing on the actual condition survey of marine leisure facilities. Especially, this study will be predicting the basis of strategy for strengthening marketability and competitiveness by suggesting role and process of design in developing a promising marine leisure product through an actual condition survey of marine leisure products of southeast area.

Development of an Analytical Method for Fluxapyroxad Determination in Agricultural Commodities by HPLC-UVD (HPLC-UVD를 이용한 농산물 중 Fluxapyroxad 잔류분석법 개발)

  • Fluxapyroxad is classified as carboxamide fungicide that inhibits succinate dehydrogenase in complex II of mitochondrial respiratory chain, which results in inhibition of mycelial growth within the fungus target species. This study was carried out to assure the safety of fluxapyroxad residues in agricultural products by developing an official analytical method. A new, reliable analytical method was developed and validated using High Performance liquid Chromatograph-UV/visible detector (HPLC-UVD) for the determination of fluxapyroxad residues. The fluxapyroxad residues in samples were extracted with acetonitrile, partitioned with dichloromethane, and then purified with silica solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridge. Correlation coefficient($R^2$) of fluxapyroxad standard solution was 0.9999. The method was validated using apple, pear, peanut, pepper, hulled rice, potato, and soybean spiked with fluxapyroxad at 0.05 and 0.5 mg/kg. Average recoveries were 80.6~114.0% with relative standard deviation less than 10%, and limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.01 and 0.05 mg/kg, respectively. All validation parameters were followed with Codex guideline (CAC/GL 40). LC-MS (Liquid Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer) was also applied to confirm the analytical method. Base on these results, this method was found to be appropriate fluxapyroxad residue determination and can be used as the official method of analysis.
