  • The purpose of this paper is to critically investigate John McDowell's naturalism, and propose an alternative direction of inquiry in order for his naturalism to have a more explanatory cogency. McDowell's main project is to settle a philosophical anxiety that has made traditional philosophy waver between mind and world. If one stands on the world side, he would appeal to "the unintelligible given," and on the other hand, if one stands on the mind side, he would fall into anarchistic relativism. In order to relieve the traditional philosophical anxiety, what McDowell has in mind is to reintroduce an empiricistic intuition into a pragmatic conceptual setting. Although McDowell is successful in that it could avoid methodological difficulties with which traditional philosophy has faced, his discussion seems to give rise to a charge of "the Myth of the Given," presenting perceptual judgement as a model of judgement. I propose that McDowell has yet to account for the relation between perceptual and abstract judgements in a more cogent way, which has been far better explained by the experientialist account of the nature and the structure of the embodied experience.

The letters '肝', '脾', '肺', and '腎' expressing the five human organs all contain the form of '肉'. So they don't cause semantic confusion. However, the Chinese letter that means heart and mind are written as '心'. As a result, it is difficult to understand the meaning of '心'. In addition, the contents of 『Hwangjenaegyeog』 cover various fields from disease to astronomy. For this reason, a total of 286 '心' letters used in it have various meanings. The results of this study are as follows. First, it means human heart. Second, it means the human chest. Third, it refers to mind. Fourth, it means a transcendent concept like spiritual enlightenment. Fifth, it refers to pericardium. Sixth, it refers to logical thought Seventh, it means center or core, and finally does constellation. in the eastern sky of ancient Asia. The results of this study are thought to be helpful in grasping the meaning of '心' in the classical literature as well as in 『hwangjenaegyeonglyeongchu』.

  • The purpose of this study was to show that yoga psychology aims to actualize the positive potentials in the depth of human mind with the perspective of body-emotion-mind-spirit integration. This approach is described in the context of modern positive psychology. For this purpose, the Self-realization of yoga psychology is discussed, which is to develop one's higher self as a center of psyche apart from one's psychological growth or maturation. An individual can experience positive emotions such as pleasure, joy, happiness and ecstasy through the typical yoga technique of concentration. Happiness is one of the main issues of positive psychology, but yoga psychology called it "ānanda" and divided it further into seven types. The positive emotions of positive psychology seem to be equivalent to positive states of mind in yoga psychology. But yoga regards calmness, tranquility, nonattachment and transcendence as the most valuable virtues for the full actualization of human potentials. From the perspective of yoga psychology, the tranquil state of mind is the wonderful fruit of long and arduous yoga practices. It is the calm and neutral state of mind which is free from all the turmoils of everyday life. Tranquility is beyond the scope of modern positive psychology's issues, but it offers some precious insights to them.

  • Chilseongpul-i is a Korean shamanic myth in which the life story full of hardships of seven sons is told, until they will take up the sacredness of Chilseong god. The seven sons, who were born from Chilseongnim and his wife Okneobuin, are abandoned by their father, Chilseongnim. But sometime later they are born with new characters after going through a special growth process of suffering, dying, and rebirth. They finally recover the sacred position to save their mother. As considered by the analytical psychology, the fact that the seven sons became Chilseong gods shows an individuation process of the heroic mythology. The individuation process might be regarded as a symbol of Self-archetype of Koreans. Self-archetype functions as a healing which gets one's split heart and mind together. An imago dei of healers should be projected upon the seven gods by ancestors.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the visual effects of autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) found in animations. So far, ASMR contents have been produced in one-person media or advertising contents with particular purposes. Unlike that, in animations, they have been produced in intuitive forms mainly for delivering messages. From the 2000's, however, gradually, animations intended for both appreciation and comfort and healing appeared, and such effects are similar to those of ASMR contents. This study has analyzed the visual effects of ASMR focusing on the Korean animated "Sonagi"(2017).

Women's social role are restricted by the Confucian culture in the late of Chosun Dinasty. But women freely expressed their's gamseong(感性) by singing the folk songs. Many researches have focused on the reality of life or the structure and meanings of the women's folk songs. On the contrary, no one has paid attention to the gamseong in the women's folk songs. This is the reason why this thesis focused on the aspects of gamseong in the women's folk songs. The aspect of gamseong expression in women's folk songs can be classfied as follow: HAN(恨) resulting from living with one's husband's parents (Si-jip-sa-ri); LONGING caused by parting with the lover; HOPE due to childbirth and bringing up; SHIN-MYOUNG(神明) through deviation and liberation. • The researcher conducted this study to investigate what special meaning does an emotion experience program, a Confucianism philosophical thinking, has for Sunwoo(善友), and based on what structure it unveils a good clue of Sunwoo(善友); and to reveal the structure of philosophical counselling treatment simultaneously. Thus, the researcher performed an "emotion experience program for 3 weeks, targeting 22 research subjects and collected the data of their experience. As for date analysis, a phenomenological analytic method of Colaizzi (1978), one of qualitative research methods was used. It was because the phenomenological analytic method of Colaizzi was suggested to derive common properties of whole research subjects rather than those of individual research subject, which could help develop the theories of philosophical counselling treatment. The finding of the analysis revealed the intrinsic structure of the phenomenon which the research subjects experienced through "an emotion experience program" was reborn as 'unfamiliarity and suspicion', 'burden', 'recognition of a method and a need', 'self-reflection', 'awareness of nature and the correct behavior', 'joy and pleasure', and 'rebirth as a valuable existence'. These were categorized to examine the structure of philosophical counselling treatment. The findings revealed the treatment went through the precesses: 'the start of learning and intentional guidance', 'reflection', 'enlightenment', 'Sugichiin(修己治人)', 'freedom', and 'transcendence. Considering the purpose of Confucian philosophy is living valuable life and the accomplishment of objectives is based on the transcendence, realizing preallotment and putting it into practice, the structure of emotion experience by the research subjects is appropriate for the purpose of Confucian philosophy and the process of objective accomplishment.

  • The purpose of this article is to investigate the future prospects for establishing the True Donghak phase of Daesoon Thought. The True Donghak refers to 'the future prospect of having a true life, true thinking, and true living' in which enjoying the world in a state of good fortune became a true reality after the death of Suwun, according to faith in Gucheon Sangje. The correlation between "Attending to the Lord of Heaven" in Donghak, and "The Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth" in Daesoon shows the prospect of achieving the Daesoonist transformation into energy to gain true life and re-creation. The correlation between "Nourishing the Lord of Heaven" in Donghak and "Attending to Study and Attending to Law" in Daesoon show the transformation of Daesoon-reason into true thinking and renewing. The correlation between "Humanity is Divine" in Donghak and "The Salvation of Humanity is the Will of Heaven" in Daesoon show transformation into the practice of Daesoon for the true living and renewing. This investigation utilizes the literature review and the generation theory of life-philosophy to examine revelations regarding the conversation between Spirit and Mind. This is the future prospect for the establishing the True Donghak phase of Daesoon thought. It consists of a threefold connection among life, thinking, and living. The "public-centered spirituality of Daesoon Truth" which connects and mediates among people appears in three aspects. Firstly, it is thought to be the vision of the true life through the 'renewal of active, energetic power' bestowed by Gucheon Sangje. Secondly, it is thought to be the vision of true thinking through the "renewal via freedom from delusion". Thirdly, it is thought to be the vision of true living through the "renewal of true mind". To bring about the creation of true Donghak, Gucheon Sangje incarnated to the Korean peninsula instead of Suwun and the salvation of the world salvation now centers on Korea with regards to the threefold connection future prospect. Gucheon Sangje's revelation addresses and solves the postscript problem of Chosun and further establishes a Utopia. Suwun established Donghak but failed later on due to his lankiness. At last the true Donghak has been opened for the future by Gucheon Sangje and Jeongsan's fifty years of religious accomplishments. In the long run, it has been developed further by Woodang's Daesoon Jinrihoe.
