A Study on the Historical Status of Giovanni Marinoni in the Tradition of Cadastre and Cartography in 18th Century Italy (18세기 이탈리아의 지도제작의 전통과 조반니 마리노니의 역사적 위상에 관한 연구)

  • This research focuses on the role of Giovanni Marinioni during the formation of the modern cartography and cadastre during the 18th century. Initial study began with Giambattista Nolli's Roman map noticing not much information was available to acknowledge his activities during his Milan period before the departure to Rome. It became evident that Marinoni was a key person to understand the complex circumstances in which the professional training and formation of Giambattista Nolli took place as later worked as an anonymous intern during the elaboration of Theresian Cadastre of Milan. The other important figures are Leandro Anguissola and Giovanni Filippini. Anguissola's position and precedent work facilitated Marinoni's multidisciplinary activities that he had performed in Vienna and Milano in the field of making urban maps of those two cities. On the other hand, Filippini not only collaborated with Marinoni but also introduced Nolli in the field of cartography. These activities show transitional and dual aspects that characterized the period in which important irreversible changes that occur during the reign of Habsburg empire and in the rest of the Europe toward the formation of modern society and state. Marinoni's theories and praxis greatly influenced Nolli's later commitment under the Savoia and later on the elaboration of the 'Pianta Grande di Roma' in 1748.

  • Some may call Peter Marine as 'an ego-less architect', or 'palace maker' due to his designs or attitudes that appearantly please world's most well known clients. However, his eclectic taste and artistic expressions combined with his minimal and abstract architectural approaches are being recognized in many places globally, especially in many fashion brand stores such as Channel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Fendi. Born and educated in U.S., Peter Marino designs are influenced by two most famous designers of our modern art history Andy Warhol and Jean-Micheal Franks, that are obvious in his traditionally modern French style designs and abstract expressions. The current study introduces Peter Marine designs through analyses of Channel and Louis Vuitton. The objectives are to understand the designer and find patterns in his brand store designs that has made him now one of the most famous fashion store designers. Educational, social, and personal interest were found to strongly form his design characteristics and four main characteristics were identified by the researcher that are use of LED lightings, emphasis on vortical circulations, graphical application of brand identities, and repetition of simple geometric forms.

Dispersion Characteristics of Oleic Acid Stabilized Water-based Magnetic Fluids by Peptiaztion Method (해교법으로 제조한 오레인산 수상자성유체의 분산특성)

  • Water-based magnetic fluids containing synthesized ultrafine magnetite were successfully prepared with $C_{18}$ fatty acid such as oleic acid, linoleic acid and stearic acid. Oleic acid was needed the amount of $3.0{\times}10^{-2}$ mol per 20 g magnetite to stabilize the magnetite $d\;=\;113\;\AA$ particles. From pH 8.0 to pH 11.0, stable aqueous-based fluids could be obtained. The aggregated powder after drying the water-based magnetic fluid was also successfully re-dispersed in dilute $NH_{4}OH$ solution and in kerosene. The pH levels of the magnetic fluid using oleic acid system could be predicted by the pH values obtained by calculation of therrrodynamic data.

EU의 사료첨가용 항생제 사용금지에 관한 규정 소개

  • 유럽연합의회는 1998년 12월 17일 사료첨가물에 관한 유럽의회규정(Council Directive 70/524/EEC, `70. 11. 23)을 개정(Council Regulation EC 2821/98)하여 그동안 사료첨가용으로 사용을 허용하였던 항생물질 중 아연바시트라신, 스피라마이신, 인산타일로신 및 버지니아마이신 등 4종의 사용을 금지하였다. 그러나 풀라보포스포리폴(풀라보마이신), 모넨신소디움, 살리노마이신소디움, 아빌라마이신 등 4종의 사료첨가용 항생물질은 계속 사용이 허용된다. 축산식품의 안전성이 강조되고 있는 가운데 유럽연합의 이러한 조치는 축산분야에 종사하는 사람들에게 커다란 관심을 갖게 하고있다. 이 글은 유럽연합이 4종의 항생물질을 사료첨가용으로 사용을 금지하게된 배경을 살펴봄으로서 유럽연합의 사료첨가용 항생제 사용금지에 관한 정확한 내용을 파악하는데 도움을 드리기 위하여 작성되었다. 유럽연합의 아연바시트라신, 스피라마이신, 인산타일로신 및 버지니아마이신 등 4종의 항생제에 대한 이러한 사용금지 조치는 가축의 성장촉진용으로 사용되는 이러한 항생물질에 내성을 획득한 가축의 세균이 인체에 기생하는 세균에게 그 내성을 전달하여 인체용으로 사용되는 관련 약품들에 대하여 내성을 일으켜 사람에서의 질병 치료를 어렵게 함으로서 인체의 건강을 해할 우려가 있다는 전제하에서 실시되었다. 이러한 조치는 현재까지 확실한 증거가 나타나지는 않았으나, 그 위험을 배제할 수 없으므로 이러한 위험을 예방하는 차원에서 이루어지는 예방적 조치이며, 따라서 금번의 사용금지 조치는 유럽연합 집행위원회에서 2000년 12월 31일 이전까지 이러한 항생제의 내성 유발에 관한 여러 가지 연구와 항생제 투여동물에서의 미생물 내성 감시 프로그램의 결과에 따라 재검토될 것을 규정하고 있다. 금번 사용금지 조치된 4종의 항생제는 그 동안 우리나라에서도 그 유효성과 안전성이 인정되어 축산 현장에서 사용되어온 물질들이다. 금번 유럽연합의 조치는 우리나라에서도 이러한 항생제들에 대한 재평가의 필요성을 제기하는 것으로서 이 분야에 종사하는 산업계, 학계, 연구계가 모두 힘을 모아 조속한 기간 내에 그 안전성을 재평가하여 축산식품에서의 안전성을 확보하도록 노력하여야할 것이다.

  • In this paper, we present a case of making LOGO animation using particles with MAYA, a 3D computer graphics packages of Autodesk Inc. We composite a visual which shows a similar effects with a information movie of Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games. By analysing the movie, we model a human body part as a set of cubes and animated the cubes to have dynamic visuals which shows similar visuals with the movie. All the system is implemented with MAYA MEL scripts. The system shows various visual effects by controlling options available in the designed UI.

Characteristics of Mixed Tea Prepared with Several Herbs Cultivated in Korea (한국산 허브를 이용한 혼합 침출차 가공특성)

  • Herbs are widely used as a source of tea and otherwise such as botanical medicine, essential oil for perfumes, cosmetics, and food spices. This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of herb tea prepared with lavender, rosemary, mint, thyme and sage cultivated in korea. Approximate composition were as follows : crude protein 1.4∼17.5%, crude fat 6.1∼15.8%, sugars 43.5∼61s%, crude ash 7.7∼10.7%. Minerals contents of Ca ranged 707∼1763mg%, P 234 ∼513mg%, K 2,391∼3,430mg%, and Mg 361∼573mg%. Vitamins were $\beta$ -Carotene 6.9∼27.7mg%, B$_1$, 0.34∼0.62mg%, B$_2$1.37 ∼2.52mg%, niacin 5.3∼8.8mg%, and C 102∼111mg%. The changes of chromaticity a and b, pH, and sugar content of the herb tea at the different temperatures were decreased 80$\^{C}$ and 100$\^{C}$ in comparison to 60$\^{C}$ but increased chromaticity L. In the result of sensory test of the processed herb tea was more preferred than the market goods.
