EU의 사료첨가용 항생제 사용금지에 관한 규정 소개

  • 유럽연합의회는 1998년 12월 17일 사료첨가물에 관한 유럽의회규정(Council Directive 70/524/EEC, `70. 11. 23)을 개정(Council Regulation EC 2821/98)하여 그동안 사료첨가용으로 사용을 허용하였던 항생물질 중 아연바시트라신, 스피라마이신, 인산타일로신 및 버지니아마이신 등 4종의 사용을 금지하였다. 그러나 풀라보포스포리폴(풀라보마이신), 모넨신소디움, 살리노마이신소디움, 아빌라마이신 등 4종의 사료첨가용 항생물질은 계속 사용이 허용된다. 축산식품의 안전성이 강조되고 있는 가운데 유럽연합의 이러한 조치는 축산분야에 종사하는 사람들에게 커다란 관심을 갖게 하고있다. 이 글은 유럽연합이 4종의 항생물질을 사료첨가용으로 사용을 금지하게된 배경을 살펴봄으로서 유럽연합의 사료첨가용 항생제 사용금지에 관한 정확한 내용을 파악하는데 도움을 드리기 위하여 작성되었다. 유럽연합의 아연바시트라신, 스피라마이신, 인산타일로신 및 버지니아마이신 등 4종의 항생제에 대한 이러한 사용금지 조치는 가축의 성장촉진용으로 사용되는 이러한 항생물질에 내성을 획득한 가축의 세균이 인체에 기생하는 세균에게 그 내성을 전달하여 인체용으로 사용되는 관련 약품들에 대하여 내성을 일으켜 사람에서의 질병 치료를 어렵게 함으로서 인체의 건강을 해할 우려가 있다는 전제하에서 실시되었다. 이러한 조치는 현재까지 확실한 증거가 나타나지는 않았으나, 그 위험을 배제할 수 없으므로 이러한 위험을 예방하는 차원에서 이루어지는 예방적 조치이며, 따라서 금번의 사용금지 조치는 유럽연합 집행위원회에서 2000년 12월 31일 이전까지 이러한 항생제의 내성 유발에 관한 여러 가지 연구와 항생제 투여동물에서의 미생물 내성 감시 프로그램의 결과에 따라 재검토될 것을 규정하고 있다. 금번 사용금지 조치된 4종의 항생제는 그 동안 우리나라에서도 그 유효성과 안전성이 인정되어 축산 현장에서 사용되어온 물질들이다. 금번 유럽연합의 조치는 우리나라에서도 이러한 항생제들에 대한 재평가의 필요성을 제기하는 것으로서 이 분야에 종사하는 산업계, 학계, 연구계가 모두 힘을 모아 조속한 기간 내에 그 안전성을 재평가하여 축산식품에서의 안전성을 확보하도록 노력하여야할 것이다.

Genetic Diversity Analysis of the Cheju Horse Using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNAs (PCR-RAPD를 이용한 제주말의 유전적 다양성분석)

  • This experiment was carried out to analyze genetic characteristics and to develop the breed specific DNA marker for Cheju-native horse. If this marker contains high repetitive sequences, it is possible to convert a RAPD marker of interest into a single-locus PCR marker called a sequence characterized amplified region(SCAR). Twenty six Cheju-native horse and Fifty thoroughbred genomic DNA were pooled and PCR. were accomplished using 800 random primers. Comparing the pooled DNA from Cheju-native horse and thoroughbred, we found 9 primers which identified markers present in the pooled DNA from breed but absent in the other breed. Among 9 random primers, 6 primers were thoroughbred specific and 3 primers were Cheju-native horse specific. Testing individual horse revealed that 5 marker showed the similar band pattern between Cheju-native horse and Thoroughbred. However, 4 marker were wholly absent in breed while present in the other breed. UBC $126_{3500bp}$, UBC $162_{500bp}$, and UBC $244_{1200bp}$ was detected only Thoroughbred and UBC $562_{560bp}$was detected Cheju-native horse, respectively. After determining of the cloned breed-specific fragment sequence, we designed the SCAR-primers and carried out PCR. Compared to random primer, RAPD-SCAR primer didn't show significantly higher specific band. However, RAPD analysis is useful for genetic characterization of Cheju-native horse.

Inhibitory Effect of Yam (Dioscorea batatas DECENE) Extracts on the Mutagenicity (돌연 변이원에 대한 마(Dioscorea batatas DECENE)추출물의 억제 효과)

  • The inhibitory effects of methanol, ethanol, chloroform/ methanol and water extracts from natural and cultural yams on the mutagenicity in the cooked pork (broiled and panfried) and the chemically induced mutagen, sodium azide, benzo(a)pyrene and 2-aminofluorene were investigated using salmolla typhimurium TA 100. In the presence of the S9 mixture, ethanol extract from natural yam showed high inhibitory effect on the mutagenicity of the cooked pork. But benzo(a)pyrene, supposed to be produced in mutagen during cooking, did not show high inhibitory effect in same extract. Besids, the yam extract on the mutagenicity of the sodium azide without S9 mixture showed low inhibitory effect. However 2-aminoflourene with S9 mixture showed high inhibitory effect, 91.5%.

Analysis of Radar Cross Section of the Integrated Mast Module for Battleship (함정용 통합 마스트의 레이다 단면적 분석)

  • In this paper, the radar cross section of the integrated mast module for battleship is analyzed. The computation program based on physical optics and physical theory of diffraction is developed and the computed results are compared with those of commercial simulator to check the accuracy of computations. The radar cross section is calculated in terms of the mast shape, incident angle, and polarization. The radar cross section can be reduced through the change of the mast slope and the chamfered mast, which can be applied to a mast with a low radar cross section.

  • Flow Accelerated Corrosion (FAC) causes unexpected accidents in a secondary side of a nuclear power plant. The secondary side pipes are mainly carbon steel tubes that have a protective magnetite ($Fe_3O_4$) layer on the inner surface. The stability of the protective magnetite layer depends on the parameters related to the FAC phenomena such as pH, temperature, flow rate, surface roughness etc. The dissolution of magnetite is basically the electrochemical reaction, but the most of the experiments of magnetite dissolution were carried out thermodynamically to determine the solubility of magnetite. The knowledge of the electrochemical properties of magnetite is required to understand the dissolution process of magnetite. This paper reviews the manufacture of the magnetite ($Fe_3O_4$) electrode, and summaries the electrochemical properties of the magnetite.

A David Star Magic Square Algorithm for Efficient LED Control (효율적인 LED 제어를 위한 다윗 스타 마방진 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose efficient LED lighting control algorithm using a David star magic square. Such algorithms increases the power reduction, the heat efficiency and LED life cycle and the efficiency of the LED lighting control consumption. Lighting system using existing Magic square algorithm could be reduced to increase the heat efficiency of the LED because the LED lighting time of the reduced cross-lighting. but it has a limit to the lighting control. If should apply the this proposed algorithm, can reduces power consumption and increases LED life-cycle, heat efficiency of LED lighting module and efficiency of the lighting control of the LED. This paper proposed that algorithm is by using a David star magic square on the LED Matrix. Divided into twelve areas to move the pattern in constant time interval, to perform the cross rotation and inversion techniques to thereby light up. In this paper proposed algorithm of this paper was compared with existing Magic square approach. As a result, power consumption and heat-value and luminous flux was reduced as the conventional lighting system. And, the LED lighting control increase the efficiency.

Effect of Pressure on the Magnetic Properties of Magnetite Nanoparticles Synthesized Using a High Pressure Homogenizer (고압 균질기의 압력이 마그네타이트 나노입자의 자기 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • We report the effect of pressure varying from 0 to 1500 bar on the magnetic properties of magnetite nanoparticles synthesized from $Fe(OH)_2$ suspension using a high pressure homogenizer without any dispersing agent and oxidant. The observed X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns showed that all the synthesized nanoparticles had the inverse spinel structure of magnetite. It was found from transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and XRD analysis that the average size of the synthesized magnetite particles could be controlled by the pressure of the high pressure homogenizer. The average particle size was found to range from 21 to 26 nm and decrease with increasing pressure. Magnetic hysteresis measurements performed at room temperature using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) revealed the appearance of a superparamagnetic behavior in the magnetite nanoparticles synthesized at a pressure of 1500 bar.
