Aeronautical Link Availability Analysis for the Multi-Platform Image & Intelligence Common Data Link (다중 플랫폼 영상정보용 공용 데이터링크의 링크 가용도 성능 분석)

  • Multi-Platform Image and Intelligence Common data link(MPI-CDL) systems are designed to transmit the imaginary and signal intelligence data at an aeronautical to ground line of sight(LOS) link. This paper proposes a method to predict a link availability and analyzes the required link margin to satisfy a given link availability for MPI-CDL systems. To estimate a link availability the proposed method applies the conditional probability so that both a rain attenuation and a multipath fading are considered simultaneously. Link margins to meet the link availability for MPI-CDL systems are calculated according to an operating environment including frequencies, flight altitudes and transmission ranges. The required link margins for actual unmanned air vehicle systems are also given by simulation results.

  • Since 4-bar linkage widely used in various industrial fields has a fixed link length, it is inconvenient to add an independent link structure or control device to change the movement of output link. Therefore, this paper proposes a new concept of variable 4-bar linkage mechanism to selectively adjust the movement of the output link to fit desired situations, and applied to the commercial table fans, which is a representative product using a 4-bar linkage system. The optimal rotation angle steps for efficiency are determined experimentally and the appropriate lengths of linkage to fit each step are calculated analytically. Changes in the linkage length are implemented by the rotational motion using a grooved cylindrical cam and the feasibility of the proposed variable linkage mechanism is verified through fabrication and measurement. The presented variable link mechanism is expected to improve the efficiency of industrial robots and fuel valve systems.

The Analysis and Implication of Link Integrity of Korean Public Institution Website from a Web Usability Perspective (웹 사용성 관점에서 공공기관 웹 사이트의 링크 유효성 분석 및 개선 과제)

  • Web usability is utilized as a standard for constructing and managing website to be useful by people of all abilities and disabilities. Link integrity is one of main criteria for web usability evaluation. Links that are found to be broken or pointing to irrelevant information lead gradual degradation of link integrity over time. This study has conducted investigation for link integrity of Korean public institution website. Among 49 website that are accessible by an automatic link checker software, 91.8% of the website has more than one broken links. Also average number of broken links is 50.5 that is 0.33% of the number of links. 29 websites consist of internal broken links. And 22 website do not provide any information on the missing page. Broken links enlower website confidence by reducing web usability as well as they prohibit web search engine not to provide information on the website. Therefore, web developers and managers need to be aware of importance of link integrity and prohibit web usability degradation by performing link validation as a web management task or periodically.

  • In this paper, we studied on-board antenna(primary link/secondary link/satellite link) used in UAV Data-link system. As a result, it is ideal to configure the Data-link as a triple link to secure the flight stability of the UAV, but the communication link should be configured according to the operating platform. As a result of overseas R&D trend analysis, the on-board Data-link antenna is installed and operated in a location where it is easy to secure LOS. The primary link consists of a directional antenna for basic operation and an omni-directional antenna for emergency operation. The secondary link uses a monopole/dipole antenna in the UHF/C band. Satellite link has been developed to apply phased array antenna to improve UAV operability.

  • This paper aims to analyze the hyperlink between the portal sites and the press dot coms news and to grasp the features of news service on the online journalism. As a result of the analysis, the portal sites, in the number of news articles which the hyperlink service had been provided, were more than the press dot coms. But in the number of the hyperlinks in the news story which hyperlink service had been provided, the press dot coms were more than the portal sites. The contents that were hyperlinked to the news stories of online journalism were composed of a informative type and an advertising one. All contents that were hyperlinked to the news stories on portal site were informative. On the other hand, about 92% of the contents that were hyperlinked to the news stories on the press web sites were advertising. By means of this analysis, the features of news service on the online journalism could be grasped.

  • Over the past years, Link Flooding Attacks (LFAs) have been introduced as new network threats. LFAs are indirect DDoS attacks that selectively flood intermediate core links, while legacy DDoS attacks directly targets end points. Flooding bandwidth in the core links results in that a wide target area is affected by the attack. In the traditional network, mitigating LFAs is a challenge since an attacker can easily construct a link map that contains entire network topology via traceroute. Security researchers have proposed many solutions, however, they focused on reactive countermeasures that respond to LFAs when attacks occurred. We argue that this reactive approach is limited in that core links are already exposed to an attacker. In this paper, we present SDHoneyNet that prelocates vulnerable links by computing static and dynamic property on Software-defined Networks (SDN). SDHoneyNet deploys Honey Topology, which is obfuscated topology, on the nearby links. Using this approach, core links can be hidden from attacker's sight, which leads to effectively building proactive method for mitigating LFAs.

  • When building a software system out of software components, the composition is not simple because of the complexity caused by diverse versions, digital signatures, static type information, and off-the-shelf components from various vendors. Well-established linking policies are one of the best solutions to solve the complexity problem at linking time. Secure Linking (SL) enables users to specify their linking policies which can be enforced at link time. Secure Linking framework is a framework based on a higher-order logic in order to help build a SL system. This paper shows that the Secure Linking logic is expressive enough to describe a real-world component composition system, the linking protocol of.NET. The paper also demonstrates the advantage of the logic-based linking framework by discussing the weakness of the code signing protocol in.NET which was found while we encoded the assembly linking system of.NET.

English-Korean Cross-lingual Link Discovery Using Link Probability and Named Entity Recognition (링크확률과 개체명 인식을 이용한 영-한 교차언어 링크 탐색)

  • This paper proposes an automatic method for discovering cross-lingual links from English Wikipedia documents to Korean ones in order to increase connectivity among vast web resources. Compared to the existing methods roughly estimating link probability of phrases, candidate anchors are selected from English documents by using various information such as title lists and linking probability extracted from Wikipedia dumps and the results of named-entity recognition, and the anchors are translated into Korean words, and then the most suitable Korean documents with the words are selected as cross-lingual links. The experimental results showed 0.375 of MAP.

  • 무선 링크를 사용하는 모바일 기기는 모바일 기기의 이동 혹은 무선 링크의 충돌, 부족한 대역폭등 모바일 기기의 외적 환경 변화에 의해 잦은 단절과 실패를 겪게 된다. 이러한 환경 변화를 예측할 수 있다면, 모바일 기기 내의 어플리케이션이 상황에 따른 적절한 대응을 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 어플리케이션이 링크의 환경 변화에 적응할 수 있도록, 링크의 상태 정보를 이용하여 상태를 예측할 수 있는 가중치 알고리즘과 상태 변화의 정도를 추정할 수 있는 기울기 값을 이용한 Watermark 기반의 링크 상태 추적 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • 무선 환경에서는 모바일 기기의 이동 혹은 링크의 충돌, 부족한 대역폭등 모바일 기기의 외적 환경 변화에 의해 무선 링크의 단절이 빈번하게 일어나는데, 링크의 단절은 네트워크 자원을 사용하는 어플리케이션의 에러로 이어진다. 이러한 무선 환경의 단절을 어플리케이션이 알 수 있다면, 링크의 단절로 인한 어플리케이션의 에러를 방지 할 수 있게 된다. 본 논문에서는 어플리케이션이 무선 링크에 적응할 수 있도록 링크의 상태 정보를 판단 및 예측할 수 있는 dynamic watermark 기반의 상태 정보 추적 알고리즘을 제안한다.
