Performance Analysis of Pilot Symbol Assisted Multi-Carrier CDMA BPSK System with Space Diversity in Rician Fading Channels (라이시안 페이딩 채널에서 공간 다이버시티를 적용한 Pilot Symbol Assisted Multi-Carrier CDMA BPSK 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • Multi-Carrier CDMA 시스템에서 불완전한 채널 예측과 다중사용자 간섭은 시스템의 성능 저하를 유발한다. 본 논문에서는 역방향 링크에서 파일럿 심볼을 이용하여 채널을 예측하는 Multi-Carrier CDMA BPSK 시스템에서 불완전한 채널 예측과 다중사용자 간섭의 영향을 연구하였다. 더욱이, 라이시안 페이딩 채널의 역방향 링크에서 최대비 합성 공간 다이버시티와 선택 합성 공간 다이버시티 기법을 적용한 성능 개선에 대하여 연구하였다. 수치계산 결과, 파일럿 심볼을 이용하여 채널을 예측하는 Multi-Carrier CDMA BPSK 시스템의 BER 성능은 등가 잡음 대역폭의 분산($\sigma$$^2$$_{c}$)에 매우 민감하나 무선 채널에서의 신호 전력 대 잡음 전력비에는 그리 심하지 않았다. 불완전한 채널 예측에 의한 BER 열화와 파일럿 심볼 간격의 최적화는 라이시안 페이딩 채널에서 Multi-Carrier CDMA BPSK 시스템의 BER 계산을 통하여 얻을 수 있었다. 그리고 불완전한 채널 예측에 의한 BER 열화는 신호 전력 대 잡음 전력비와 채널 예측 필터의 등가 잡음 대역폭에 관계하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper proposes a link adaptation method for Underwater Internet of Things (IoT), which reduces power consumption of sensor nodes and improves the throughput of network in underwater IoT network. Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) technique is one of link adaptation methods. AMC uses the strong correlation between Signal Noise Rate (SNR) and Bit Error Rate (BER), but it is difficult to apply in underwater IoT as it is. Therefore, we propose the machine learning based AMC technique for underwater environments. The proposed Modulation Coding and Scheme (MCS) prediction model predicts transmission method to achieve target BER value in underwater channel environment. It is realistically difficult to apply the predicted transmission method in real underwater communication in reality. Thus, this paper uses the high accuracy BER prediction model to measure the performance of MCS prediction model. Consequently, the proposed AMC technique confirmed the applicability of machine learning by increase the probability of communication success.

  • The applicability of network-based computing depends on the availability of the underlying network bandwidth. Such a growing gap between the capacity of the backbone network and the end users' needs results in a serious bottleneck of the access network in between. As a result, ISP incurs disadvantages in their business. If this situation is known to ISP in advance, or if ISP is able to predict traffic volume end-to-end link high-load zone, ISP and end users would be able to decrease the gap for ISP service quality. In this paper, simulation tools, such as ACE, ADM, and Flow Analysis, were used to be able to perceive traffic volume prediction and end-to-end link high-load zone. In using these simulation tools, we were able to estimate sequential transaction in real-network for e-Commerce. We also imported virtual network environment estimated network data, and create background traffic. In a virtual network environment like this, we were able to find out simulation results for traffic volume prediction and end-to-end link high-load zone according to the increase in the number of users based on virtual network environment.

  • In this paper as a follow-up to Paper I, the required fade margin derived in Paper I to preserve the same service quality has been examined by analyzing system and propagation characteristics as well as measured data. The comparison of the fade margin between simulated and measured results is also performed for the actual operating line-of-sight(LOS) and non-LOS links, and practical usefulness as an analysis tool is revealed by checking service quality of M/W system relevant to frequency reallocation. According to simulated and measured results, there was a little difference for LOS link between Mt. Moodung and Mt. Mangun, but a fairly good agreement was reached for non-LOS link between Andong KBS and transmitter site.

  • In this paper, we analyzed linkbudget with comparing actual received level of telemetry system at Palau Tracking Station. Because Palau Tracking Station participated in the launch mission for the first time and lack of verification tests for antenna tracking and signal reception performance, we analyzed the linkbudget more accurately by predicting transmit antenna polarization gain according to the trajectory and attitude of launch vehicle. The analysis results were used to analyze signal reception range, antenna operation angle and LHCP/RHCP received level. The actual received level of the antenna was similar to the linkbudget result as a result of the launch mission operation.

  • 위성통신시스템에서의 10GHz이상의 Ku 또는 Ka 대역은 수십 dB의 크기를 갖는 강우에 의한 감쇠 현상이 심각하여 이러한 감쇠는 위성 링크의 심각한 성능 정하를 가져온다. 본 논문은 위성통신 링크 상에서의 강우 감쇠 보상을 위한 알고리즘을 제시하고, Ku 대역의 강우 감쇠 데이터를 사용한 시뮬레이션을 통하여 그 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 예측 기법 측면에서, 적응형 알고리즘을 적용한 기법과 신호 레벨 변화량에 근거한 예측 기법은 거의 동일한 예측 오차를 보였고, 따라서, 급속한 신호레벨 변화에 적응성을 요하지 않은 강우 감쇠 예측의 경우, 알고리즘 측면에서 비교적 간단한 예측 기법으로도 충분한 성능을 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 제시된 전송 방식 결정 알고리즘은 기존의 임계값 기반 알고리즘에 비해 품질 저하율이 0.6%에서 0.01% 이하로 감소하였고, 거의 동일한 전송 효율을 가지면서 약 5배의 적은 전송 방식 전환을 요구한다.

A Signal-Level Prediction Scheme for Rain-Attenuation Compensation in Satellite Communication Linkes (위성 통신 링크에서 강우 감쇠 보상을 위한 신호 레벨 예측기법)

  • This paper presents a simple dynamical prediction scheme of the signal level which is attenuated and varied due to rain fading in satellite communication links using above 10GHz frequency bands. The proposed prediction scheme has four functional blocks for discrete-time low-pass filtering, slope-based prediction, mean-error correction and hybrid fixed/variable prediction margin allocation. Through simulations using Ka-band attenuation data obtained from the data measured over Ku-band by frequency-scaling, it is shown that the slope-based prediction with the mean-error correction has as small standard deviation of prediction error as below 1 dB, and that the error is about 1.5 to 2.5 times as small as that without the mean-error correction. The hybrid prediction margin allocation requires smaller average margin than those of both fixed and variable methods.

Capacity Design of Eccentrically Braced Frames through Prediction of Link Overstrength (링크의 초과강도 예측에 의한 편심가새골조의 역량설계)

  • According to the capacity design of eccentrically braced frames (EBFs), non-dissipative members such as columns, link-exterior beams, and braces must remain within the elastic region when a fully-yielded and strain-hardened link transmits force to them. The current AISC 341 standard suggests a strain-hardening factor (SHF) of 1.25 for a link under capacity design, regardless of its properties. However, all the links in an EBF are not likely to yield simultaneously to the extent to which the overstrength corresponding to 1.25 times their expected strength is attained, especially for high-rise buildings. Considering this phenomenon, a technique to predict the SHF of links at the limit state of the structure is proposed in this paper. The exact prediction of the links' SHF could save structural quantities dramatically while achieving the principle of capacity design. To validate the effectiveness of this technique, SHF values predicted by conducting linear analysis were compared with those evaluated by nonlinear analysis. Furthermore, the maximum demand-to-capacity ratios of the non-dissipative members were calculated to verify whether they would remain elastic at the limit state of the structure. Consequently, EBFs designed by the proposed method showed substantially economical quantities through the exact prediction of the SHFs, and the intention of capacity design was successfully achieved.

  • 유도전동기 구동용 공진형 직류링크 인버터의 공진링크 회로와 제어기 설계를 종합적으로 시도하였으며 기존의 해석적 방법의 설계를 보완하기 위하여 SPICE 시뮬레이션에 기초한 설계를 수행하였다. 공진형 직류링크 인버터의 핵심이 되는 공진 링크단의 설계와 공진링크 초기 전류의 최적제어, 인버터 출력의 제어방식 그리고 클램핑 스위치에 저어방식 등에 대한 설계에 있어서 SPICE 에서의 검증과 조정을 통해 실용적 설계와 동작에 대한 예측실험이 가능함을 제시하였다. 이의 타당성을 증명하기 위해서 실험용 공진형 인버터를 구성하여 동작을 확인하였다.

  • 무선전력전송 시스템의 전력 수신부는 많은 경우 송신부에 비해 크기가 작으므로 자계결합 에너지링크 코일의 권선을 비대칭으로 설계할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 직렬 공진 보상 구조의 자계결합 무선전력전송에서 에너지링크 전압이득과 전력전송효율을 동시에 고려해 전력변환회로 관점에서의 비대칭 코일의 도식적인 분석 및 설계 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 설계평면을 통해 에너지링크 코일의 정렬이 어긋날 때 혹은 부하요구가 변할 때 에너지링크의 전압이득과 전력전송효율 변화를 직관적으로 예측할 수 있으며 주어진 설계조건에 따라 에너지 링크를 간단히 설계할 수 있다. 본 제안방법은 회로 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증 되었다.
